DDA Chapter 4

I knew someone would ask which is why I decided to post the answer! :thumbsup2 It's also the reason I posted pictures of my hair even though they aren't the best. I had just enough time to read Thursday night before crashing and saw all the requests for them. I figured when I posted yesterday, it better be my first post or I'd hear about it. :rotfl:

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: We are a persistent bunch, aren't we? Just ask Jennifer... :rolleyes1

For what it's worth, I say go back to bed for a couple of hours. The drive will look better without that headache.

Well, I've decided another hour of rest and then I'll head out. I will leave the computer on and may post a little more before heading out. In case I don't:

Have a great day DDA! I wish for sunshine, warmth, and smiles for all of you and yours!!!!

I love my DDA friends! I knew you'd help me make the right decision. I was really struggling and am glad to hear you agree with my final (which almost wasn't).

Sleep tight! And drive safe. See you when we both get home tonight! :goodvibes

Kathrin didn't buy it for me, I "signed her away" as my first born. :rotfl: I did buy daytime meds as well as the Nyquil ElixirOfTheGods, so I ought to have enough to ge me through this.

After 8 hours of sleep (unheard of for me) I feel marginally better this morning. I am going to ge off here in a bit to eat some breakfast and take the day-time controlled substance. :lmao:

Ah! That's what I get for reading before my coffee! :rotfl2:
I see that DH has been guzzling down our current stock of Nyquil, but it isn't the good kind.
I hope you feel better as the day progresses! Enjoy your dinner!:)

Since Bernadette mentioned the posibility of DDP for APs I have been thinking about it a lot.
We would be spending more on the plan than we would OOP for sure. BUT with DDP the tax is covered, which would offset a little bit of the gratuities. I need to go get my matrix out of the car and see what the ADRs look like for the middle portion of our stay. It MIGHT be worth having the deluxe DDP for those 7 nights. Maybe. :rolleyes1

Ok, I'm finally off of here to try and get some stuff done before Kyle gets home. Don't be calling Elin now, and bugging her during her recital!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I am off now, too. Have great days everyone!

Flights for our Aug. departure rate have dropped to $129 through Airtran. If anyone received the $25 code & you are not using it would you mind sending it to me? I need two more, I figure $104 is not to bad! Now I just need our arrival flight to drop, they are still at $159 :scared1:

Janet - Sorry - I am not signed up for anything through Airtran. :guilty:
I need to check DH's flight. It has been stalled at $178 forever. And that is the ONE WAY flight to get him back home! $104 is a great deal! :thumbsup2

Wow I hope the price drops for you!

Wow I hope the price drops for you!

I think it is just too early. Flights from now through May are as low as $158 ROUND TRIP! Some of the August flights are $232 round trip, the rest are higher. The flight I booked for DH going to MCO is back up to $178, so I am pretty happy that I booked it at $116. If the flights start to fill up and the price is still high then DH will just have to come home on a different flight. The 11 AM flight is $116, the 2:30 flight is $178.

Denise, you have to do what you feel is best. Don't analyze it so much. Sit on it for awhile. If after a couple of days, you decide maybe you overreacted, you can always discuss it with BK. Chuck and I have made bad / rash decisions in the past. When we calmed down and realized it, we just discussed it with the kids and let them know that even adults don't always make the right choice.

I won't say you made a wrong choice. That is something that only you really know. I do want to say that as the kids grow you want to be careful about not letting them be friends with others. As they get older, they tend to gravitate to those that they are "forbidden" to be around. My girls both had inappropriate friends that I worried about. Instead of forbidding them, I just made sure that I was very involved with the friends and showed them what was appropriate and what was not. The girls and I would talk about what was not allowed in our house and they were made responsible for having their friends follow the rules. That way we kept the communication channels open with the girls and always knew what they were doing with these inappropriate friends. My best friend when I was in middle school was not a good person when we first started hanging out. My mom and dad did the same thing and she was a different person with my family than others saw.

Now, telling you all that, I don't want you thinking that I think you made a wrong choice on this. That was not the reason for giving you the info. You just seem to be upsetting yourself over the decision and wanted to give you some other perspectives to see if it helps.

Also, prayers and pixiedust: for John. Try not to think about what the worst things could be. Think about the not so bad stuff that it could be. Wrap your mind around that.
Vicki - perfect response. You said it much better than I did.

Yeah, that's it! I don't know if it was that good a movie that I was surprised or if I was just "off" that day. It was the first and only time I have ever been "shocked" at the end of a movie like that.
I didn't see it coming either. And I'm glad that the ending hadn't been 'leaked' to me prior to me watching it.

I'm off to sleep now! I am all caught up on the thread. I don't think I'll get on in the morning and it is a 8 hour drive home. I am going to sleep in and take a leisurely drive home. I'll stop at my mom's on the way if she is home. Talk to you all tomorrow night!
I hope you have a safe drive home.

I'll be sure to take some of everything before the party and will put someone else in charge of them at the party. The best part is that the 2 invited friends get to come! Wendy is bringing Danae over as Dad is in town and can stay with Michael. Plus, her other friend's mom called today to say that they are healthy enough to come. Colds had been going around their house the last two weeks. I'm so glad as there are only those 2, plus Kassie, Connor and Terra. She is sooo excited and counting down the hours!
Sounds like an awesome party! Can't wait to see pictures.

Not my mind! (Or my hands...) :rotfl:

Yeah, I was just thinking that I could stand with an easel in front of the Parthenon for three days and that building alone wouldn't look near as good as just the one portion of his drawing.

Well, I can't take it easy too much. I start recitals again at 10:15. I am judging and playing concerto accompaniments for 7 hours today.

But there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Bob and I had asked Kristin to go out to dinner tonight after I am done. One of our downtown restaurants (Caroline Street Café, Tammi) does a special dinner for certain holidays, Valentine's Day being one of those dates. They extended the offering for Friday and Saturday evenings as well this year. When I saw their chef's choices I decided we would give it a try tonight. My boss and one of my co-workers said it sounded like a nice end to the day. Since the 3 of us are very good friends and our DHs get along so well I invited them and their spouses to join us. So, we have a party planned for 5:30 tonight before the madness begins tomorrow morning at 10:15 again! :rotfl:

Sounds like a nice night. I hope that you survive the next few days of recitals without the cold/flu getting worse. Enjoy your evening!
