DDA Chapter 4

Is it just coke that they are marinating in or is there other stuff mixed in?

2-3 pounds of steak (cut into kabobs)
1 cup Italian dressing
1 cup ketchup
1 cup Coke
2 tablespoons brown sugar

I use top sirloin, because it's as tender as filet mignon after marinating for two days. :thumbsup2

Another really good steak marinade is a bottle of Italian dressing, a bottle of salsa, and two tablespoons of lemon juice. Yum!

Good morning, DDA!

Terry - so glad you made it home safely! That drive sounded treacherous! :scared: How fun if your sister can join you guys in December!

Glynis - glad to hear Katie is feeling better today.

Janet - for whatever you're dealing with.

Tia - have fun delivering Valentine's! What a nice gesture. :goodvibes

Amy - hope you start feeling better soon. I'd love to hear more about your recipe! Sounds interesting!

Tammi - congrats on the ADR's! As Anne Marie said, the B&C is considered TS, but they don't take reservations. Since it's a pretty inexpensive dining option, some people suggest just paying OOP, and saving the TS credit for another more expensive option. So, you could try that if you want to do another meal. ;)

Anne Marie - good luck getting all the V-Day stuff together!

All this reminiscing about 80's hair had me laughing. Ahh, I remember those days. My hair actually did well back then - a little bit of hot rolling and some mega hairspray, and we were in business!

I hope everyone with cold, icy weather stays warm and safe!

Marci, please post pictures of the play, if you took any this morning!

And, I meant to ask the Texans, is anyone familiar with Mission, Texas?

I'm sorry to inform you that my annoying (and irresponsible) SIL is now a resident of your great state, since GE transferred my step-brother last month.

I had to look it up, Amy, as I wasn't sure where it was.

Fortunately for us ;) , she's not anywhere close to Dallas. Mission is basically on the border of Texas and Mexico, near McAllen (largest city nearby). Who knew they were "home of the grapefruit?!" :rotfl:

Those both sound yummy! :thumbsup2 Might need to try this soon. Since Jonathan and I aren't going to go out for V-Day until Saturday night, maybe one of these recipes can tide us over. :goodvibes

Thanks for the birthday wishes...slept in today...which is a rarity...

Since we still have so many TS credits left (due to the issues that they are having with this plan) we are doing an early lunch at Coral Reef...and then a late dinner at California Grill. Hopefully this works...Bill is obsessed about using all these darn credits...I feel like I may die trying :rotfl2:

I think we will check out the DVC Welcome Home Wednesday spiel..I don't really care for it...but Bill wants to do it and I can zone out.

Have a good day everyone...
Happy 40th Birthday, Kristine!!:dance3:
Enjoy your day!

Love it!!! You do such a great job!

Tom, the dress is adorable! Another great Tom original! :goodvibes

Oh yes I remember the days when I would mousse my whole head, turn my head upside down & blow dry for 30 minutes so it was "big" enough..ahhh the 80's!

I used to "scrunch" my hair while I dried it for maximum poof. Then I would use the curling iron on the front and spray hairspray directly on the iron so the hair would stand up when I took the iron off. My hair was down to the middle of my back so it was a long process! :rotfl2:

Anne Marie, you have the best use of smileys. :goodvibes

I made my ADRs this morning. I got Biergarten at 4 for our arrival day and 1900 Park Fare for dinner on Wed. at 4:40.

The other dinner is at Cape May, which Elizabeth already booked.

We plan to do B&C for burgers one day. So will that be a CS or TS credit? They wouldn't give me an ADR for that so I'm confused about it. If it is CS then I can book one more TS. :yay:

Yay for ADRs!! I see you B&C question has been answered! :)

Thank you all for the PD & hugs, I really needed them.

I'm sorry to be so secretive, I know you are all my friends. But this is something I have been dealing with for a long time & it's hard.

Janet, whatever you need, whenever you want to talk, we'll be here!

Marci, please post pictures of the play, if you took any this morning!

Never heard of it so it must not be close to me! :rotfl:

What a morning! The car was frosty, so that put me a few minutes behind schedule. Of course it was downhill from there. Every light was red on the way to drop off DS so I was late for work. Only a few minutes, but I HATE to be late for work! The delivery truck was already here when I pulled in at 8:15!:scared1: That was NOT what was supposed to happen! So both of my bosses were in the kitchen dealing with that. The guys get the new fridge in and SURPRISE! the doors don't seal! :scared: So all the food is out on the counter, Momboss is now very late for work, and we don't have a working fridge. She called Lowe's and asked them what they planned to do. They will bring another fridge. Later. Food is continuing to melt all over the counter.

I took Princess to school, and luckily I saw the neighbor across the street. She said they have a garage fridge that we could put things in.:yay: So I came back, loaded up a few bags with food and took it to her house. I ate a container of yogurt and baked our "place & bake" cookies so hopefully we won't actually lose THAT much food. Princess can drink juice or water after school, and I will take her out for dinner because I don't think the new fridge will be cold by dinnertime.

I managed to spill coffee all over myself getting out of the car. It wasn't hot, but it was messy! :headache:

Definitely not how I thought my day would go, but all in all it hasn't turned out as bad as it could have!

Glad to hear Katie is better and that no on else shows signs of pox.

I so wanna be a sister of yours that lives near by, sounds like Valentines is going to be great.

Please post the recipe for the dill chicken.

Things are looking up here! Katie is feeling fine, the other kids are showing no signs of chicken pox, the sun is shining (at least for a few more hours), and my house is relatively clean!

I'm going out in a little while to do some Valentine's Day shopping, and then home for a cozy afternoon with Katie! We're going to watch Gone With the Wind! Love that movie, and since she's going to see it in London, I want her to have an idea of the story!

Got to get all the stuff ready for my Valentine's day breakfast tomorrow. It will be interesting. 2 of the kids have play practice at 7:30, so I need to have their breakfast ready by then. Should be ok, though! I'm stumped for dinner. I was going to do heart shaped pizza, but the kids don't want that. I'm trying to rethink it, now. Maybe I'll make dill chicken. It's fast, easy and yummy. I'm also doing artichokes to go along with that. Dessert will probably be cupcakes, or a chocolate covered strawberry cake (if I'm feeling ambitious). We'll see!

I am going to scrap lift this one Happy Birthday Kristine

Just beware that the incubation period for chicken pox averages around 14 days. Keep your eyes peeled! :wizard:

I hope the day gets better Elizabeth!

Elizabeth, things can only get better.

Thanks! It really isn't THAT bad. Momboss is having a far worse day than I am! She asked Lowe's what they are going to do to compensate her for all the food she lost. They said the delivery guy should have put the old fridge back! But he didn't! So the manager at Lowe's basically told her "Too bad, so sad, not my problem." I told her to call a district manager. She might also need to call GE because it is kind of their fault, too. Don't they CHECK the seals before they ship out the fridges?

I got my credit from SW today! It showed up in my checking account so I must have paid for it with my debit card!

I shared this on the Disboutique thread, but I thought I would hear what my "family" thought of this one.:goodvibes

Good morning. So do you remember yesterday when you all were talking about the ice storm and I said all we were supposed to get was rain??? Boy were they wrong. We had a 2 hour delay this morning, so I took that opportunity to let the kids sleep in. Now I guess they are calling for snow tonight. I need to listen to the forecasters to see just what is up.

 I didn't know about the snow forecast! And weather.com on my desktop doesn't show it either... hmmmm

Tom, Another great creation!

Terry, Glad to hear you are home safe & sound.

Janet Hope you are o.k. :grouphug:

I need to call Jeff and ask him what all he puts in the marinade for our steaks I know its a Teriakai Marinade from a bottle just not sure what else he does. We both work tomorrow so we will have our Valentine dinner tonight

For whatever reason, this little guy just cracked me up! :rotfl: :rotfl: (Thanks for the laugh, Anne Marie!)

Elizabeth - I hope the day gets better for both you and Momboss. I can't believe Lowe's!

Meant to comment on this earlier - yes, Tom, you have outdone yourself once again! I wish I had half the creativity you must have in your pinky finger!
