DDA Chapter 4

Oh and the MM also described the new improved Playhouse Disney Live! It starts out with Mickey, Donald, Daisy, and Goofy planning for Minnie's bday party. Then it changes to Handy Manny, then Little Einsteins. The finale is Minnie's big party. Sounds fun!

That sounds very cute!

Other than being cold, we have not received any of the forecasted snow yet. Hopefully it will miss us!

I have an appointment to get my hair done today. I was thinking of getting it cut short, but I decided that I want to keep my long hair. But it is so thin that I can't do anything with it. So I decided to get a perm, I have not had one for 10+ years, maybe longer. I am sorta nervous, I do not want to have my hair fried or come out looking like a poodle :rotfl: So if it turns out, I will post a picture & see what you all think. If it doesn't, well guess I will continue to wear my hat :rolleyes1

We should get some pictures either way, right?! :) My mom gets perms on occasion, for the same reason. I know you can get big enough curls that it doesn't look frizzy or poodle- like! :teeth: She hates the work involved with her hair being short, but it is so thin that she can't hardly keep it too long.

I have no idea where my sister and I got our too-thick hair, certainly not from either of my parents! :rotfl:

Well, I think I'm going to shower and get ready to head out. Hopefully the roads are at least a bit devoid of cars.... it doesn't look like the freezing rain is stopping anytime soon. I am going to try to get in and out, because apparently we're expecting more this afternoon.

I did, however, pay bills, pick up around the house a bit, and do 3 loads of laundry this morning! That's more than I've been able to accomplish in any one day in quite a while! I need to start getting up a few hours early for work every day, and maybe my house would be livable! :rotfl:

Stay warm!
Drive safely, Jennifer.

Jennifer sorry you still have to go into work, drive safely! :wizard:

My sister & brother both have thick hair. I think being the middle child I got everything they didn't(more weight, thin hair, ect. :rotfl: ).

Has anyone seen the latest Mickey Monitor? There are coupons in there for 4 free lithographs, valid 2/14-3/14. However, no pictures of them or size info. I would love to have these, if they are decent, so anyone down there that time, I can send you my coupons if you wouldn't mind getting them for me!

WE GOT A MICKEY MONITOR YESTERDAY! And it was NOT hand addressed. We MUST be in their system FINALLY! :yay: :yay: :yay:

OMG!!! This day is just getting funnier (in a matter of speaking).
Mark decided to go get a few things at the base store (BX) where Cassie works.
Cassie wasn’t working. So Mark called her (to here her answer on why she wasn’t at a register) to see when he needed to pick her up. She said “I am on break right now and I get done at 8:30, but I have a ride home from Kim. I love you dad see you later she said.

Mark then ran into one of Cassie’s supervisors and asked if Cassie was working tonight. He super said she had called in sick because she had an unscheduled dental appt. Oh I forgot Mark said. He then asked if he could pick up her schedule in the future so as not to cause this kind of problem again.

HOLY PLUTO POOP!

Mark met Cassie in the driveway when she was “brought home from work”. They are now having a “Come to Jesus” conversation. They left the house because the yelling is causing problems with the small ones.

Can you all hear them yelling?

I have no clue what the rest of this week holds, but WOW it’s like a Soap Opera in my house.

I do hope you are all well.

Oh and thank you for letting me vent.

:scared1: I hope that things were worked out...like being grounded:lmao: That is so not acceptable.

Good morning DDA! I have a silly complaint to get off my chest, then I'm going to try and lie down, or be productive or something instead of dwelling on it :rotfl:

Our center follows the closing policy of the Cincinnati Public Schools -- this means we never close. Maybe once a year, if we're lucky, but mostly never. No delays, nothing. I don't know if it's the logistics of a massive school system, or the fact that most don't ride bus transportation (many walk, or take city transport instead), or what.... but they don't close.

Today, with the snow and ice arriving as predicted, they closed. Hooray! Snow day!

Except a) I had to wake up to see that they closed, and call off the appropriate staff, transportation of all of our kids, all the parents that bring their kids, etc. So of course, I'm more wide awake than I could ever be to be successful at falling back to sleep. B) My regional boss is in town, so I still have to make it into the office sometime! Boo!

Still, I'm going to "work from home" for the morning (I did bring some stuff, but it isn't happening any time soon!), and then try and make it in when the snow emergency lifts and I'm even allowed driving. But I want to stay in my pajamas and in my warm house all day since work is closed! :rotfl:

Also Kyle doesn't get out of work, even in a level 3 emergency. His lovely hospital badge gets him out of tickets, etc, and into a horribly nerve-wracking driving experience. Lucky guy, huh?

I hope you all are doing well! Have a good day! :goodvibes

Wow that stinks. I can't believe that they ticket people for being out on the roads. They never do this around here for anything. Of course most things don't shut down other than schools and children's activities. I guess they figure that if you live in Vermont as an adult then you should know how to get around in it ;)

We are currently sitting at -7 degrees. We are supposed to reach a balmy 18 degrees this afternoon. The snow is predicted to start at 7 PM and snow heavily through the night before switching over to wintery mix. It only looks like a total of 4 - 7 inches now though. Better than the foot plus that they had predicted  I'm sure that there will be no school again tomorrow. Perfect, they will cancel school, cancel Colby's speech assessment for the third Wednesday in a row and then cancel snowboarding too. I'm beginning to hate Wednesdays just for the weather.

Other than being cold, we have not received any of the forecasted snow yet. Hopefully it will miss us!

I have an appointment to get my hair done today. I was thinking of getting it cut short, but I decided that I want to keep my long hair. But it is so thin that I can't do anything with it. If it doesn't, well guess I will continue to wear my hat :rolleyes1

My hair is very fine and straight, but I have a lot of it. The only way that I can easily manage it is to have a perm (which I am in need of). It doesn't matter if it is short or long I need the perm. I find that when it is longer it seems to fall out in large quantities. I don't notice it on my head, but when I wash my hair the amount of hair that falls out is :scared1: I suppose that it is normal and probably does short too, but at least I don't notice it as much. Nothing is more annoying to me than taking a shower and having long hair run down my back into my butt crack :rotfl: :confused3 Sorry TMI

I would love to have these, if they are decent, so anyone down there that time, I can send you my coupons if you wouldn't mind getting them for me!

I have the monitor too. The coupons say that you must show up in person with a valid AP and photo ID. That is why I haven't asked anyone to pick up ours :confused3 I would love to have them, but don't know if they will follow that policy or not :confused3

Jennifer I read about this in the Magically Speaking newsletter, thought maybe you might be able to use this for the stroller.

http://www.theneatsheet.com/

Here is what the person wrote about using this product:

At a recent trip to Disney World, I decided to take a waterproof blanket called "Neat Sheet." Unfortunately, it rained every day during our trip, but with the Neat Sheet I was able to keep our double stroller (and the kids inside) dry. It fit perfectly over the stroller and each corner has weights so when we went on a ride or went to see a show, we draped the sheet over the stroller and the wind never blew it off. It dried rather quickly and it folded up nicely so that we could store it in the basket under the stroller (even when the stroller was folded up). We also placed the Neat Sheet on the ground so we had someplace to sit and not get wet when we were watching the parades. (Submitted by Roxane H.)

We have a neat sheet and I find that they are water repellant, but not water proof. Water does get through so in a heavy downpour the stroller will get wet. We've put our on damp ground and wound up with wet hineys. They are good for light water repelling though :thumbsup2 Of course I bought ours 5 plus years ago so perhaps they have made them better :confused3

Well, I think I'm going to shower and get ready to head out. Hopefully the roads are at least a bit devoid of cars.... it doesn't look like the freezing rain is stopping anytime soon. I am going to try to get in and out, because apparently we're expecting more this afternoon.

Stay warm!

From the sound of it Kyle isn't home enough to notice if the house is a mess. If it is just you there then I say forget about the house and keep yourself well rested. Those babies need a happy Mama. Besides, once they're born your house will never look the same anyway. Trust me :rolleyes1 I figure that I've got another 17 years before I will be able to totally reclaim my house

Ewwwwww! :rotfl:

I keep saying this as well, a few more years & I can reclaim my home!

:wizard: for tomorrow that everything is not cancelled again!

Paula I have an embroidery order if your up to the challenge. My kids all bowl and use a handtowel to shine up their balls, keep their hands dry. I would love 3 hand towels.

One Yellow one with the name Colby and a little Donald Duck
One Red one with the name Hunter and Pluto
One Blue with the name Nick and Mickey

Let me know if you can do them. If you can I may have 2 more to order. Let me know what you would charge for such an item. We were going to have them done at WDW last year, but they were out of hand towels :confused3 They would be great in the kids easter treasure chests :cool1:

Theresa - love your new pictures!

Also, would you (and anyone else who hasn't already done so) go to this site and enter your birthday info for me. that will update your email addresses for me and also keep me in the loop as to when you have a celebration coming up! Thanks a bunch...

http://www.birthdayalarm.com/dob/81869329a226785961b363

sorry about that....I forgot to do it last go round because I was at work and trying to be sly in my DDA reading:rotfl:

We don't have any of the animals you posted in our zoo! You must have a pretty nifty zoo!

Good luck, Paula!! :wizard:

We have an awesome zoo!! Last spring when it was just Abi and I we went on the day that zookeepers from all over the country were in the zoo for their hands on day of their convention.

Klondike and Snow are 2 polar bears that are now at Sea World Orlando...they were the first polar bears born in captivity to survive in a long time.

Our Zoo is just over one hundred years old and was one of the first (if not the first) to try natural habitats for animals. The bear habitat is 70 years old.

Gee, I wonder where Abi gets her love of the zoo???:confused3 :lmao:

My hair is in dire need of cutting and perming and coloring...but finding the time or money to do it is nearly impossible. I've got thick and long hair, so it always takes longer. When I got my hair done for senior prom my appt. was 3 hours long...an hour and a half was making sure my hair was dry:scared1: . I have lost a lot of hair in the last year due to stress...but as my hairdresser says...I've still got more than most on my head.

Just remember the curl is tightest for the first couple of days!! We want pictures :flower3:

Jennifer-I have two neat sheets and I love both of mine....they do dry quickly. Do you want me to send one of mine (I have a "regular" and a "large" one) for you to borrow? I say borrow because they stay in the car during band season for seats for kids.

Paula-I am sorry that there was so much yelling last night. I hope things have calmed down and I hope that Cassie gets her act together.

And with that I will end my P3 and go make my boss his coffee...the man is from the 50's I swear:sad2:

I agree with Elin - I think you have 2 VERY good reasons as to why you need to stay safe and warm at home today!

:wizard: :wizard: for Kyle as he drives around in it.

I plan to hibernate today, :surfweb: this is me but with hot cocoa.
They have also changed the forecast yet again, now 3-5" of snow this afternoon through the evening, and switching over to freezing rain at midnight.

Sounds like a good plan, Heidi - stay warm!

Good Morning. :love2:
figured everyone could use a kiss and a hug.

Yes, we all could! Thanks! :goodvibes

We got some much needed rain today, though I could have done without the thunderstorms. Driving in was a bit of a challenge!

Have a great day everyone! :)

I thought about you this morning, Marci. Sorry to hear the drive was treacherous! Those storms were something else.

That sounds annoying!:headache: Changing the DDP was a really stupid idea. I haven't heard anything good, either, except from people who hadn't used the old plan and don't know any better!

I didn't sleep well at all. It was too hot in our room, DH was snoring, then we had MASSIVE storms. Then the cats were playing and jumping on and off the bed. Now DH is yammering about a house on fire and it's in a new subdivision that has no fire hydrants. I'm sorry that somebody's house is on fire. But I am exhausted and it's not MY house. I don't want to chit chat about it!:headache:

Off to get dressed for work! Chat with you guys later!

I only used the DDP once, and couldn't imagine doing it now - what a headache! They should have just left the old plan alone, and charged more! :headache:

Sorry to hear you didn't sleep well. I didn't either - had stomach problems overnight and the storms certainly didn't help. I did hear about that house fire this morning - very sad. They think it was a lightning strike, and they had to fill up tanker trucks with water from the nearby lake to put it out.

Other than being cold, we have not received any of the forecasted snow yet. Hopefully it will miss us!

What is he starting with? Nicholas loves the Magic Treehouse and Junie B. Jones books.
Joe & Lizzy really like the Magic Treehouse books.

Nicholas lost a tooth at Rel. Ed. tonight, so now I have to stay up for awhile.
Congrats to Nicholas. Joe lost a tooth this morning.

Hi guys,

It's been a few whirlwind days around here, I'm still catching up on chapter three, so it might be a while before I catch up. The surgery is still up in the air, but things seem to be falling into place.

PD :wizard: all around!
More :wizard: for your SIL!

Let me ask a question.....

What would you think of a mother that buys her 5 yr old DD a cellphone (Firefly)?

Bob's ex bought one for Bethany. First, she and Bob can't talk civilly (she always flies off the handle) so she has told him not to call her, that if he needs to discuss something he has to email or text her. Hello? How can you communicate that way? They have shared custody of Bethany. Mom has her Sun. night through Thurs morning, and he gets her after work on Thurs until Sun night. Do you think the two adults might need to talk every once in awhile???? Second, ex is so annoyed with Bob that she doesn't want to have to go through him to talk to Bethany (when she is with her dad) so she bought her a cell phone. I can't believe it. You know, I thought dating a divorcee would be easier, because they've 'been there, done that', but there is an AWFUL lot of baggage that goes with it. I don't know if I have the energy to put up with it.
That is crazy but....would she allow Bob to call Bethany on that phone? Maybe less contact with her wouldn't be a bad thing. For the day or two before she looses it.

Luckily she lost it literally as she went to bed, so we explained the tooth fairy was already out seeing children, and that's why she forgot... and, yes, the TF made up for it! ;)
We've used the "too late to get on the schedule" excuse more than once. I better remember tonight.

Oh and thank you for letting me vent.
Anytime!

But I want to stay in my pajamas and in my warm house all day since work is closed! :rotfl:
:headache:  Stay safe and leave early!!!

No Mickey Moniter for me :sad2:
or me....

Paula I have an embroidery order if your up to the challenge. My kids all bowl and use a handtowel to shine up their balls, keep their hands dry. I would love 3 hand towels.

I'm home from work again today. I need to find some sort of walk in clinic or something as I don't have a primary care dr. I go to my gyn every year but haven't found a primary I like. Something is leaking out of my right ear so I think its time to get proffessional help.:scared:
