DDA Chapter 3

I put these pictures on photobucket a while ago but didn't get around to posting them.

This is Matthew as John Bender in the high school production of Breakfast Club.

Here is Laura in her Snowball dress. I have a few photos of her with her hair done, too, but I haven't put them on Photobucket yet. The dance wasn't really her thing. I guess there was too much dancing going on (especially amongst her friends) that was "disgusting." She just wasn't comfortable.

What nice looking kids. I'm sorry that Laura didn't have much fun at the ball. I know that she had to juggle he schedule just to go.

For those of you that have traveled to WDW in the summer...June, July, August....how are the crowds? I was looking at a website that shows 9s for pretty much all of June and July, then they drop down in the beginning of August. I'm considering a quick trip down sometime this summer. Right now airfare on SW is $160.

In 2006 the crowds in the last 2 weeks of August were non existent. There were times in EPCOT where we were the only people in a pavillion. We also had a TS that time so that may have also kept people away.

Last year the 3rd week of August was siginificantly more crowded. Even the CM's were saying they couldn't believe the crowds. The heat & crowds made for some cranky guests. The last week of August was better but nothing like 2006.

Thanks Anne Marie. Unfortunately, in August my only option would be the second week, due to my work schedule. My other options are the week of June 23, or pretty much anytime in July.

Our storm hasn't started yet, but it is supposed to be bad. The snow should start anytime and the freezing rain around noon. School is letting out at noon to get the kids home before things get too nasty. All weather stations are recommending that employees be sent home as early in the afternoon as possible and people should not travel unless absolutely necessary. Of course I need to get to work at 5 PM which will be right in the middle of the whole mess. We are expected to have at least a 1/2 inch of ice by morning. I don't mind snowstorms and it could dump 2 feet, I'd be fine with it, but this I scares the crap out of me. I will probably call work and tell them that I may be late as I don't want to put the kids in the car in this stuff. I'll wait for Chris to get home then I'll head out.

Thanks for all the compliments on the shirt and the model

Nicholas has decided on a science fair project. He is going to test how well disinfectants work. He will grow bacteria on a dirty cutting board, clean different areas with different cleaners and then culture the swabs in petri dishes. I think it will be quite interesting, and SIMPLE!

Jennifer

We left our house at 8:15am on Thursday morning. If we had driven straight through we would have arrived around 11:30pm. That was what the GPS predicted and it was really accurate. We were on the road for 12 hours Thursday, this included our stops and the nasty weather. We had about 2-3 hours left on Friday.

For us driving is our preference, both of us have been traveling by car since we were little. And my girls all do well in the car. We have done numerous road trips with them so they are used to it. Eric and I have the flexibility in our jobs to build in the extra 2 days for travel so it works well for us. Hope that helps!
Thanks Mapquest says 17hr 36 mins

Elizabeth Aug. hours are up!
yippeeee

Nick had his awards ceremony this morning and he did receive High Honors.

I know that I am prejudiced, but I really think that Nick is the most handsome guy in the whole 6th grade. It really struck me today as I watched all the other kids getting there awards. I can see him being a real heart breaker in a couple of years :flower3:

ETA: The eyes don't do him justice

Well if those are the choices, I'd go with August, since some schools start back in early August you will fair better with crowds than in late June or July. My birthday is in July & so is Dana's and as tempting as it is to be at Disney on my birthday, I just won't go in July.

I am doing better. Dana got the kids up & out this a.m. which gave me a chance to lie in. I called out of work so I am just going to take it easy today. It's pouring here!

Beth - I can't believe how grown up you kids are. Matthew is quite a handsome young man and Laura is beautiful. Her dress is very pretty.

Beth I am going to ditto Tammi(thanks)!

Anytime between Aug. 4th - 15th sounds good :rolleyes1

We went the 2cd week of June after the boys were out of school in 05. It was busy, but honestly to me not much more than when we go in Oct.

Terry and Anne Marie - how are you feeling today?

I am feeling much better today.

I am just able to get in my car to go to work. We had ice and my doors were frozen until now.

Now to see how the roads are while driving into work.

I seen that, I am hoping when it gets closer they will add them. Do you remember when they announced the Aug. dates last year?

I could always go in May by myself :confused3

Janet,
I just saw the August hours. Don't see any mk days where they close at 7pm so maybe there won't be any P&PP's.:sad1:

Your weather does not sound good at all! Maybe they will close the restaurant for the night, if not drive safely :wizard:
