DDA Chapter 3

Thanks. We need to make a decision very soon. His party is on Sunday. I think we will be making a local purchase :rotfl:

I was thinking of giving him a segway tour at FW, but my Mom and Brother think the GPS is the way to go. He drives for work so he will definitely use it.

We bought the Garmin Nuvi 350 just before Christmas for a great price at Circuit City (bought on-line with store pick-up). I like it a lot, and I think it was worth the extra to buy the model that speaks the street names. I haven't read back far enough to know how much you want to spend or what your other needs are. From research, the Garmins get satellites faster than some of the the cheaper systems, too.

Here are the pictures of the finished shirt. Isn't my model handsome :goodvibes

The shirt and the model both look terrific!

Thanks for all the compliments on the dress. I bought some ribbon tonight but didn't end up liking it together. I'll have to figure out something different tomorrow.

I am off to bed because we have Katrina's appointment early tomorrow for her wisdom teeth. I will need to get up so that I can get some paperwork together to do while I'm there with her. Last time with Becky it was at least an hour or so.
Good luck today.:wizard:

I have to agree...I like all the voice prompts with the street names

We're definitely DVRing Lost, since it would be a lost cause (I crack myself up! :rotfl: ) to watch it while the kids are still up.

I really enjoyed rewatching last year's finale with the pop-ups last night. It reminded me of Pop Up Video. (It's too bad VH-1 dropped fun shows like that for all the has-beens reality shows!)

Kevin has thrown out the possibility that it was Juliet in the coffin. I think all clues have pointed to a male, possible a character not even introduced yet???

We also DVRed Lost. Last night we watched last year's finale. I think I've decided that I need the pop-ups on all the episodes (or someone very patient to explain exactly what it going on). I always feel clueless watching that show. I'm not sure that I like where it is going if that is really how Jack is living back in LA.

Morning DDA!

For a warning those north east of me...this weather system that is passing sucks. Snow. Rain. Snow. Temp goes up. Temp goes down. Snows more. Rain freezes.

Drive carefully today!!!!
If the rain that we are getting is any indication of what the snow was like, I feel sorry for everyone! It has been pouring buckets since the wee hours of the morning. Thank goodness the temps here are above freezing. It is just supposed to rain all day, but the weekend will be lovely with temps in the 50s. Happy first day of February! (Although Feb. usually sees our worst weather here. )

Latest attempt! I don't like the circle - it looks like I have a shadow on the photo and there isn't one. Maybe I didn't make the picture big enough...
ETA: Yep, that's what I did. And one of the filmstrip pictures isn't large enough either...I need to use zoom more often!!!

Jennifer - I'm assuming that with that one tutorial site you gave us yesterday - where you can make your own post it note - that those are the techniques that I'd use to make a page edge "curl" and show the reverse side of the paper?

ETA: Janet - the paint bucket is the same tab as the gradiant tool. :teeth:

Very nice!

Everyone's being so crafty lately! Very impressive. :thumbsup2

I like the use of the filmstrip Chanon. We used that as one of the reoccurring themes in a yearbook one year. I couldn't help but notice rehearsal is spelled wrong though. One of the advantages of digital scrapbooking...an easy fix! :)

All this talk of teeth brings back bad memories for me! My baby teeth were very slow to fall out, so my orthodontist was always ordering extractions. I had 16 of them pulled! My eye teeth came in so high, it looked like I had fangs. Then (believe it or not ;) ) he said my mouth was too small, so I had to have four permanent molars pulled and my wisdom teeth dug out, too.

So, I only have 24 permanent teeth, but after a couple years of braces, I wasn't so self-conscious about smiling anymore! :teeth:

:scared1: Miles has an eye tooth coming in high and on top of the baby tooth. I really need to call the dentist and start saving for the orthodontist. I was hoping that one of the three wouldn't need to see the orthodontist, but I guess not.

All of you with bad weather.........be safe out there!

Ok, I sewed my first outfit for myself! :lmao: Actually, it only required one straight seam down the back as it came off the bolt like this. You just buy two inches more than across the chest. I was looking for anything with animal print and ran across this. They had about 4 or 5 other types. They also had shorter ones for little girls.

Becky, DD19, says that I have to have straps (and I agree - the disadvantage of not having much on top). I haven't decided whether I'm brave enough to wear it to Animal Kingdom or whether it will be my swimsuit cover for the pool and water parks.

Now for the question: What do I do for straps. The bottom doesn't need to be hemmed because it is a finished edge. However, I can cut some off the bottom to make the straps and then hem it. Or is there something else that I could do for straps?

That looks great, Vicki! I would have thought that not having much on top would mean that you would be ok strapless. I can't imagine ever going strapless myself...that would be a wardrobe malfunction in the making!

Oh, is there some sort of game this weekend. :rotfl:

I put these pictures on photobucket a while ago but didn't get around to posting them.

This is Matthew as John Bender in the high school production of Breakfast Club.

Here is Laura in her Snowball dress. I have a few photos of her with her hair done, too, but I haven't put them on Photobucket yet. The dance wasn't really her thing. I guess there was too much dancing going on (especially amongst her friends) that was "disgusting." She just wasn't comfortable.

Beth - I can't believe how grown up you kids are. Matthew is quite a handsome young man and Laura is beautiful. Her dress is very pretty.

For those of you that have traveled to WDW in the summer...June, July, August....how are the crowds? I was looking at a website that shows 9s for pretty much all of June and July, then they drop down in the beginning of August. I'm considering a quick trip down sometime this summer. Right now airfare on SW is $160.

Beth,
Nice pictures!

Deb,
Great shirt..I still can't believe you guys have the talent to make clothes!!!:worship:

Robyn,
Good wishes for your cousin's wife.

Janet,
I just saw the August hours. Don't see any mk days where they close at 7pm so maybe there won't be any P&PP's.:sad1:

Thanks for all the well wishes, I had a rough night. I had a fever & around 4am it broke & I was all soaked.(yuck, I know) I feel better now so hopefully its over.

Terry and Anne Marie - how are you feeling today?
