DDA Chapter 3

I take it it worked then since we have an ETA in the post! :rotfl:

ETA: You better post something of what you did! When I get home I'll post my cat going on my cruise with me. :teeth:
I just practiced cutting my head out of a picture. :rotfl:

I swear she must know that she has Eric and I to herself. She won't let me leave her.
Yep, she's at the age when separation anxiety starts. Especially since you have all been sleeping in the same room for the past week or so.

Cheese-Broccoli Soup

4 T butter
1-1/2 c chopped broccoli (all fresh veggies please)
1-1/2 c chopped carrots
1-1/2 c chopped celery
1 small onion diced
1/4 lb. canadian ham, diced
1/4 c water
1/3 c flour
4 c milk
1/3-1/2 lb. velveeta cheese
1/2 can undiluted cheddar cheese soup
1/8 t garlic powder
1 T parsley flakes
1/2 t salt & pepper

Combine butter and veggies, ham and water. Cook on medium heat for 15 minutes. Stir in flour. Slowly add milk. Boil to thicken. Lower heat, add cheeses and seasonings. Do not boil again, just heat through. Use a very heavy pan to keep from scorching the milk. Can be doubled and frozen.

To reheat if frozen (we freeze in single serving sizes): Heat, covered, on high for 4 minutes. Stir. Heat for 1-2 more minutes.

Thanks, Vicki! This looks so incredibly good! We are in for some really bad storms next week, so I'm going to stock up on soup and chili supplies. Looking this one over, I can pretty much guarantee it will be a crowd pleaser!

I think it would be even harder on her and the child to have someone in the family adopt. That was really awesome of you & Alan to consider it though.

We've always wanted to adopt, and if things don't work out for us to conceive naturally, we'll go ahead with it.

If we lived farther away from Lydia and her family, I would do it in a heartbeat! However, there's just too much potential for heartbreak this way. My cousin and her husband adopted his sister's baby, and that was 10 years ago. The sister and mother have not spoken to, or visited Brent and Mindy since then. I just couldn't handle that.

I know that Lydia and Brandon will find the perfect couple. They are putting a lot of thought and prayer into their decision. They may have started this out in a bad way, but they are doing everything they can to make it right.

I am making another pot of this today. I have enough of all the supplies.

Well she best get over it soon! She did fine the first couple of nights home so I am hoping the bedtime issues are more her teeth and reflux issues. It's also very quiet in here right now- which is unheard of in this house. She loves to people watch so she is bored, I'm not that exciting.

There won't be by the time we get to Kristine's!

Who's gonna be our designated driver?

I forgot to mention - I tried a recipe from the Crock Pot thread. All it was was pork, a packet of onion soup mix, and a can of jellied cranberry sauce (no berries). We threw it into the crock pot until the port was done. Best thing we've made in a long time! You don't taste the cranberry sauce at all, and it goes great with mashed potatoes.
