DDA Chapter 25

Two snow days in a row! I'm not sure that has ever happened here before. The kids are

Dh decided to work at home today, too.

So I decide to go shopping for some tops for the cruise for me. Now I hate shopping

...I do not get any pleasure from wading through endless clothing racks & with my selections going into a fitting room to try them all on...I am so NOT my daughter! Anyway I wander over to the lingerie section & figure since I have coupons I should look for bras too...mistake! I found about 6 styles I liked & then this store employee lady comes over & we exchange hellos & then she proceeds to take the bras out of my hands. Looking at them she says I have too many of varying sizes & that she must measure me so I can only take in what I need....Ladies I don't know about you but I know that I am one size in a certain brand & another size in another brand...anyway, so she escorts me into a fitting room & starts to measure me...ok I guess fine...says she will go get me what I need. So she comes back with bras in hand & tells me to try them on in front of her.

Um, NO! She persists & I still say "no". Finally she leaves the dressing room & I try on what she has brought me...now if I had half a brain I should have just left but I really did need to be measured anyway...just wish she wasn't so pushy. So she comes in tells me the size is wrong & comes back with more...However what I had in the first place was comfortable & fit pefectly...finally I tell her I am fine on my own & she tells me "ok it's your preference" & leaves.... Jeez, no wonder I hate clothes shopping.

I did buy one but I just wanted to get out of there so I did not bother to look for anymore at that time.

Another snow day here. Now the last day of school for Hal will be that Friday, June 11 unless we get any more snow storms.

I am so sick of this snow. It is not really snowing hard at all but the wind is wicked which must be causing havoc on the roads.

204 days, 204 days I must keep telling myself time is getting short for our cruise. Yes Elizabeth, I have my suitcases out and I am starting to put aside the little things I can pack now. I have almost everything I need for my PM Chuckie. Still looking for a tuxedo for him. I went out and bought for myself gloves and a tiara for the formal night. My dresses for the formal and semi-formal night are at the cleaners. I have resigned myself that I will need two suitcases because I need that room for the dresses and my pirate costume. Plus the FE exchange.

I am loving checking all of the shore excursions that are available. Stephanie and I are thinking we want to do the Segway tour that is available in Barcelona. 204 days, 204 days

I would have asked to see her supervisor and question why she insisted on that. I then would have left and went somewhere else where I could find the same brand of bra and bought them there.

We finally have power. It was a sleepless night. The winds started around midnight and we lost power at 12:30. I have never heard winds that bad, I can't imagine what a hurricane would be like. I really thought our windows would blow in. There are trees down every where. We have leaves and branches all over our lawn and we don't have any trees My neice and nephew had a couple of sled on their lawn and they have no idea where they blew off to. They've driven around the neighborhood, but didn't find them. We finally had our power restored at 3 pm. That is the longest that we have ever been without power here as we are on a main line. The back roads may be without power for many days. Thankfully our house is well insulated and I managed to keep it between 68 and 70 degrees using sunlight ( for the few minutes that it peaked out) and a little tent heater that we have. I was starting to worry about the fridge and freezer, but it came back on before I needed to deal with it. It is now pouring, but the house is again toasty and I've got the wood furnace fired up

Hello DDA!!

I was going to try to post this morning, but got as far as "Good morning" and never made it back to the computer. So, I guess I'm just going to get to sneak in a hi and bye as we leave for camping in an hour. Our CA trip was wonderful and I'll definitely post more and some pics on Monday!!

Tammi, Stephanie and I would love to meet you and Alyssa. I guess it all depends on the weather here too. We will be able to tell better on Friday.

I was just wondering how the weather is out byyou? Roads are pretty much clear by me but I am an hour and ten minutes away from exton... Is anything planned for tomorrow?

Terry and Stephanie - how is my drive going to be tomorrow? Is the sun supposed to be out? Or more snow? I'm really not looking forward to this, other than maybe getting to see you guys for dinner. And I know that is a big MAYBE!

Anne Marie - I'm sorry your shopping was a bust. No pun intended, but after I typed that I realized the funny. I feel your pain though. A few weeks ago I went bra shopping and actually stopped in a few stores and asked to be measured. One store tells me I'm a 32, the other tells me 36. One measures across the top, another measures underneath. I wish I had a perfect body so I don't need to go through all of this!

Anne Marie, I like Wacoal bras. I used to like one style at Victoria's Secret, but they "restyled" it and now it fits like crap.

DS's audition is tomorrow morning at 8 AM. (Thanks for the good wishes, Tia! Have fun camping!) He had his final coaching session tonight. Now we are deciding what he should wear. I think he is just going with an Abercrombie polo and jeans. I am going to iron his polo. I know, it is a rare event for me to iron anything.

I am coming down with some respiratory crap - my throat is killing me and my ears have pressure. Blah.

No plans this weekend other than the audition.

Heidi, yep. That would be snow. I like your pics, but I do not like snow.

Terry, I am so pleased that you are packing!! The Segways in Barcelona sound really fun! DS wants to go on a Segway, but even in 2 years when he is old enough to do it I don't think he will be heavy enough.
