Stephanie we did get your card. It was beautiful

The airtran coupon had to be booked by January 1st. You missed the cutoff. I'll let you know if we get another.

When should they announce it? That is very exciting. Will you Dad just stay there or is he coming home and going back?

They said they will announce tonight--im thinking either during halftime or after the game that is being played now. Dad will come home and we'll go back together since his airfare was bought already for the trip he is on now.

Jen - What weekend? This weekend is going to be COLD - temps in the teens, so bring warm clothes. Pixie's baptism is Saturday so I am going to be frozen solid.
Thanks! good to know...We will either be coming late Friday night or early Saturday morning and then leaving Monday afternoon. Im working on a packing list now

.
Yes i loved your card!

Jen, last I heard the overnight low for Friday into Saturday was only like 17 degrees. The high on Saturday seems to be up for debate, but not higher than 40. They are saying friday we won't get above freezing.

Of course we have to be at a Magnet school expo at 8:30 AM on Saturday, then the baptism, then the baptism luncheon, so I will be out in the cold MUCH more than I would like. I prefer not to leave the house if it is below 60 degrees.

WOW!! At least I know the stadium will be closed and comfortable--ill have to pack my warm stuff--thanks !! :)

Two questions:

One, did everyone get their Christmas card from me?

And two: Deb, could you tell me a bit more about the Airtran coupon you have?

Thanks

I didn't get your card, Stephanie. I don't think. I have been through all the mail that came while we were away (I think). I will let you know if I find it.

I have an AirTran coupon that has to be used by January 16 for flights through February 28. It is for $15 off. (the $20 one did expire on January 1). :(

Can you use it?

Thank you all for the birthday wishes for Garrett :goodvibes We had a wonderful day & good times with family!

Anne Marie great pics, but those crowd pictures are scary

Chanon, Alex looks ready for TSM :thumbsup2

Stephanie I did not receive a card.

School starts back tomorrow, yuck!

Oh phooey. I'll send it right away. I didn't write down who I had already sent to and then when I got the new set, I sent to everyone I thought I had missed.

My travel dates are March 6 thru March 10 or 11th. My grandson and I are headed to Disney World instead of my DGD's cheer competition. Twelve hours of sitting on a stadium bench to watch her for two minutes is just not in our future. He's 6 and I promised him a trip to Disney sometime, so this sounds just as good as any. I am only 60 days out and haven't even thought of food.

I'm going to need a ton of help. I will not discuss this on FB. At all.

Last year in March the family went to Hilton Head for spring break and almost froze to death. What will the temp be in Disney in March? He's got plenty of energy and is usually very good for me when his sister is not around.

My son won't go to Disney right now, so it will just be him and me. He has a 4 day ultimate park hopper and 5 or six "specials" water park and Disney Quest days. I've never been to Disney Quest. My DD said he really enjoyed it when we were there last time. I have a Disney Quest ticket, so that will be one day. He LOVES Disney World. We'll have to stop and see Lightning Mc Queen and Mater. His bed and Tv are Lightning Mc Queen.

He loves Soarin and Test Track. I need to plan our days. But before I do anything, I need airfare!!!!

Geez Louise I'm looking at the news about all this airline stuff. Elin, did you drive to Disney one time??? Robyn, you drove to Disney with kids, what do you do to keep them occupied?

Oh, I'm about to be a real PITA!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Stephanie have fun. Yes Robyn has drove so has Amy and Anne Marie. We are driving this year.

Do you have a portable DVD player? Take some movies that he has plus some of yours that he has not seen. wrap them up to make it last longer. new coloring books. Their is a thread titled road trip help here on the creative design forum that has some neat game ideas. Dolly has some good stuff in her 4 shared under travel games that are lighting.

Are you flying? If you are checking bags DO NOT put all of the important stuff in one bag. Keep shoes, jackets, and rain gear WITH YOU because you will lose HOURS of time going in circles if ME loses your bag. Had they lost one of my checked bags in August I could have gone for nearly a week without it. Winter and rain change the dynamics of everything.
Yes we are flying, but not using ME.

Good morning. :)

Stephanie - you will love the time spent with a 6 yr old at Disney World!

It's my first official day of vacation and I'm up at 4:00 am, I have a lot of things I want to get done this week so hopefully I'll get a good start today.
Our plumbing backed up again last night so we had the plumber out, turns out that once again the problem was in the main line so I'll be having a long conversation with the water company today.

Stephanie, you'll have a great time with your grandson. Brandon loved having breakfast with Stitch at OHana, and T Rex was a big hit also.

Stephanie,

Yes, I loved your card!

We have driven several times from NY & from our new place. When my kids were your GS's age I gave them coloring books (Disney of course!), crayons, pencils, blank notepad, stickers, books, & snacks. Now they have their Nintendo DS's so that keeps them occupied.

Oh, I'm about to be a real PITA!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

We've driven several times. For that age DVD's work as well as DSIs. Coloring may or may not work depending on the kid. My kids have never wanted to do travel games and with only one child it would be difficult for him to do it alone.

Disney Quest is an adventure in itself. We've never been in there when it wasn't really crowded. It's basically a multilevel arcade which is not my thing, but the boys like it for a couple of hours then we're good to go. My kids love the water parks so we always plan a couple of mornings there. We find that if we get there when they open we can get everything done in a couple of hours. Of course it could be cold in March so that may not work out. The resort pools and the DVC Community Hall areas will kill alot of time.

We have that to look forward to upon our return. And this year I get to have TWO children participating in it. OH JOY!

I'm sorry. I can guarantee that DS has learned virtually NOTHING in 7 years of being forced to do it. He hates it, I hate it, all it does is put a tremendous amount of pressure on everybody because it counts as such a whomping chunk of the grade. I need to confirm when she wants the projects turned in because we are close to the end of the 1st semester. I am not sure which marking period the projects are being counted for. It is truly, truly a dead horse. I think I will be shopping for a science class next year that does NOT require science fair. I am thinking the Math & Science Magnet should not be on my short list of schools.

morning!
Well im leaving for dallas on friday! I have a ton to do so headed into work ealry!

Coldest temps in over a decade! Enjoy! :rotfl:

Back to work this AM. No school, though. Going to be a crazy week. In fact, going to be a crazy month.

Stephanie I did not get a Christmas card, but please don't worry about it. I do not have your address so I couldn't send you one.

Good morning and Happy New Year, DDA! I've loved the time off and having my kids at home. This morning was a hard one for everyone (except Matthew who is off for two more weeks and still in bed).

I still need to go get Miles out the door, and then I have a long list of things that need to be done today. I'll try to catch up later. I've missed the DDA!
