Chanon I like the darker one.
Ann Marie the Spanish teacher sounds like a crackpot.
Got a question for you all....
Should your child be expected to dance the dance to the song "Thriller" in Spanish class?
Yes I did just write that sentence.
Happy Birthday Virginia
What does Thriller have to do with Spanish???
Ann Marie the Spanish teacher sounds like a crackpot.
I was thinking these same things. My answer is no. Of course I never really liked Michael Jackson. I prefer country music to rock.
??????????
Why??? Makes no sense to me.
Anne Marie - That one confuses me![]()
Thriller? Is it a Spanish version? I guess if phillapino prisoners can do it then why not a spanish classSeriously I can't imagine it in any school.
Here are the prisoners in their lengthy tribute

Anne Marie....how old is Katie again?
The reason I ask...Jackie is a freshmen...and I am amazed at how the shift has gone to mandatory participation....we were told flat out, that if your child does not participate...they do not belong in the class. The "mother" in me had some trouble with this at first...but she seems to have finally adjusted. She still gets a little freaked out with Accelerated English...you HAVE to participate in class at least 2-3 times per class.
Part of Nick's grade is for class partcipation, but I think dancing in Spanish is way out of context.
very strange..Got a question for you all....

That sounds like a step in the right direction.![]()
She is 13, 8th grade. I agree that there should be class participation but dancing to a Michael Jackson song for Spanish is ridculous. She has no other participation problems in any of her other classes...now if they start making the kids do the macarena in Alegebra then we will have a problem.Anne Marie....how old is Katie again?

Thanks!Me, too.
Anne Marie, good luck getting things sorted out with the school!![]()
Thanks ladies, I just wanted to make sure I am not the nut here. Katie's spanish teacher sent her to the principals office & told her get out of the class if she did not want to participate. Her class is doing Thriller for a parent evening. I do not blame Katie at all. She is very introverted & I could never see her doing Thriller even in the shower. I am also confused as to what the heck this has to do with teaching Spanish. Maybe this nutcase wanted to be a choreographer & she got stuck teaching?I don't know & I don't care. So now we are meeting with her on Friday to "resolve" this issue. As far as I am concerned it IS resolved...she is not going to dance to Thriller for a Spanish class.
All this nonsence right on top of some severe bullying has put Katie right over the edge...I wouldn't be surprised if she hops on the next Greyhound bus back to NY & civilization.
Hope all goes well.Chuck called me this morning. There might have been a bigger breakthrough on this. Katrina's boyfriend made some mean comments to her last night that makes her realize that she needs to make a bigger break. He is hoping that she will be willing to move "everything" home now. I'll be calling her later tonight to find out how things are.
