Look who I ran into!!!

I just got a phone call from my dad that has me green with envy! One of the members of his board of directors is the head of shows/productions at Disneyland. He called Dad yesterday and mentioned that there were some new things happening at DL that dad might be interested in. Before you could say "Bob's your uncle", my dad, and several of his colleagues/friends have decided to go to Disneyland.... TODAY! That's right. They left early this morning, and will arrive at DL by 3:00 this afternoon. They are being given VIP passes to the Halloween party tonight. However, the best part is tomorrow. They will spend the day at Dl, and then in the evening, as the park closes, they will get to stay in the park. Once the park closes, they will be able to watch the rehearsals for the new electrical parade, and they will get to see the new flowers, etc. being installed.

This is so cool for my dad! I'm happy that he gets to go, but jealous that I can't go too!!!

I think we need to be on your Dad's board of directors. Does he need some DDA members? ;) That is totally exciting and I too am jealous.

How cool is that:cool1::cool1::goodvibes

I got an email from Tim Foster of Celebrations Magazine this morning. Our photos will be printed in the next issue :cool1: I'm very excited. Hunter said "of course they're going to print them your the best costume maker" :lmao::goodvibes I told him that he doesn't have to suck up, I'll still take care of him:rotfl:
How cool!!

Hunter and I are hanging out planning our vacation next summer. We are thinking that we might be able to sneak in a skydive experience for Chris while in florida. He would NEVER expect it then. We may be able to do it in Miami either the day before the cruise or the day we get off the ship.
Come to Jersey--we can all go skydiving haha

I seem to have a ladybug infestation, luckily its outside.

Beings it warmed up here the last couple of days they are coming out in force. These are not the cute lady bugs though, these ones bite!

Here too....but I have found a dozen or so wondering in the house. I spent all this time using an index card to scoop them up and put them out side. An hour later I hear all this toilet flushing....that would be Bill committing ladybug murder!

I suck them up with the vacuum ;) :rotfl:

Janet I hope that Gary is better today.

I hope that all of the ailing DDA are feeling better :wizard::wizard:Debbie are you still on lockdown?;)

Theresa have the ornament exchange names gone out yet? I know that I signed all 5 of us up and I got an email from Disneyshopping with the new ornaments and it reminded me of our exchange :goodvibes

I made it to work for a half day, which I had scheduled that way due to an eye appointment, I had my eyes checked and went grocery shopping, now I'm done.

Congrats to your dad, sorry to hear you are all under the weather.

Channon and Robyn, love the picture, Alex is such a cutie!

Janet, I hope your family is feeling better soon.

Glynis - congrats to your dad! How awesome!

Chanon and Robyn - You two look great together. Love the Pooh hat. :goodvibes:

Debbie - don't overdo it.

They started vaccinating for Swine here this week. Every evening, starting yesterday, they are having a clinic from 5Pm-8Pm at one of our high schools. A different one every night, to spread it out throughout the county. So last night was the first one. There was a huge line, traffic was all congested trying to get into the school. So they open the doors at 4:30 instead of 5, start handing out tickets. If you have a ticket you are guaranteed a shot. They gave 1000 vaccines and turned about 300 away, saying they would have to go to one of the other clinics on a different night. This was all in the newspaper today, and also that they may not have enough vaccines to make it through all 5 clinics. So today I left work early to ensure that I got my kids there with plenty of time to spare, ensuring they got their shot. We arrived at 4:10 and were numbers 643 and 644. :scared: At 5:50 my kids had their shot. I must say that with the hundreds of people everything moved smoothly. The line was pretty much constantly moving, and it was a beautiful day, so while I waited the kids could run and play. It wrapped 3/4 of the way around the school. They had about 10 nurses set up inside the school, several people doing triage (making sure the proper paperwork was filed out) and sending you to a nurse for the actual shot. I was impressed and am glad it's over with. From what I understand their plan for the 2nd shot is to do it at your individual school, either before or after school, by the school nurse, insteading of setting up these clinics.

Hi,
Hope you are all doing well.

Chanon and Robyn so nice that you could meet up. Alexander is super cute.

Tammi- Glad the kids got their flu shots without many issues.

It was in the 60's today and sunny. So that was a nice change from the rainy cold weather this weekend.

One of my co-workers took her daughter to the doctor today. They suspect she has the Swine flu. Plus lots of other people have been in and out of work sick. No matter what they have I do not want it.

Glynis, how neat for your dad! :)

Tammi, we have no swine vaccines. :confused3 I think a few thousand doses total have made it statewide. The news is saying January for us. I figure by then we will have survived it or died from it. Either way, I won't need a vaccine in January!

:wizard:For all not feeling well. Hope you all get better soon and everyone else stays healthy!!!

Jen-belated birthday wishes.

Theresa-so sorry!

Deb-so sorry to hear about Hunter. :wizard:Hope he heals quickly! :woohoo:Congrats on the being published! How cool!!!!! Good luck on the job search.

Vicki-:hug:Hope Katrina comes home soon.

Anne Marie-:woohoo:Congrats on booking a Dec trip!

Tammi-great job getting some Christmas shopping done. Thanks for the head up on the AKL pool.:sad2: Maybe it will open up a few days early for Emma.

Becky -great wedding photos!

GLynis-how cool!!!!! Wish you could have gone with your Dad!

Kristine-aren't lady bugs hard to flush?

He's now 21 1/2 inches long and 9lbs 4oz.

SO adorable! How nice that you had a visitor!

Work has been crazy. We found a mistake in the budget yesterday and course it had to be a $700,000 mistake.:headache: The review with the president is Thursday and then we have to work on pulling it all together for the board of directors. I'll be ready for a vacation.

I think we need to be on your Dad's board of directors. Does he need some DDA members? ;) That is totally exciting and I too am jealous.

I wish! I would love to be on the board of directors if the perks are like these!!!

Beings it warmed up here the last couple of days they are coming out in force. These are not the cute lady bugs though, these ones bite!

We found one in our house last week that was as big as a dime! I couldn't believe how HUGE it was! The kids were all freaking out. Some wanted to keep it, and some wanted to squash it. However, I talked them into taking it outside.

H1N1 is getting closer to home. The grandmother of one of my 3's called in today to say that his mother and sister were diagnosed with H1N1. They decided to keep him home as well as a precaution. :worship: We haven't seen him since Thursday, and he and his mother seemed fine then.

My brother's stepson and his toddler son both had it. Well, his stepson's was confirmed and they highly suspect that is what their son had.

Katrina came home late on Sunday. I'm not sure if she is there to stay. She is looking for a job in Iron Mountain. She has not officially broke it off with the boyfriend but I expected that. It is a step in the right direction.
