DS is off Monday, too. Last I heard I am off Monday. Not sure about the rest of next week. I will have to ask someone about that!

The baby is fabulous. She is SOOOO tiny! 6 lb. 4 oz. and 18 inches. Princess was so fascinated by the balloons and flowers she barely gave the baby a second look.

In other news...
DS has been cast as The Baker! That is the largest male lead in the play!! I hope he does well!

I'm glad you got to take Princess and see her. Sounds a little like Andrew's first glimpse of Jake.

Congrats to DS! Sounds like those classes are paying off. Did you say the production is next Spring?

Abi didn't make it into Jazz Band but didn't realize she could have tried out on the Baritone, also. She is glad she said because she doesn't like anybody in the band. Hey!! At least she tried out.

Tonight was such a great night! I dont know if you guys remember, but last Thanksgiving, we met a couple of military men on our plane from Dallas back home and overheard them talking about getting a taxi to the base (a good hour away from the airport) and we ended up taking them and going out to dinner and all of that..they deployed 2 days later..They called me last night and were back in jersey for a few days--just getting home from Iraq !! So we picked them up tonight and we had dinner with them. It was great seeing them...they should be leaving on saturday to go home but if not we will be seeing them again!

That sounds like a lot of fun.

There has been so much press this last week since Romo played so poorly. I guess you'll be up late Monday night watching to see if he can rise up over the bad press? (I'm sure I will, too!)

I SEE THE SUN!!! Wow -- I don't remember seeing it with a clear sky in weeks. We've had brief glimpses of the sun, but they've been awfully brief. In fact, Jake hasn't had soccer practice/games in over two weeks. It sprinkled at the start of Andrew's football game last night, but thankfully stopped near the end of the first quarter.

JEN (and any other Dallas Cowboy fan) -- a little trivia for you. Charlotte Anderson (daughter of Jerry Jones) has a son that plays on the team. He made one of the touchdowns last night.

I'm sorry Abi didn't get into the Jazz Band, but it sounds like maybe it worked out OK anyway! Wasn't she auditioning for some other things?

She should find out about Encore (select choir) today and she is in the choir of the musical.

I am not sure how that will work yet. He said they are supposed to start rehearsals next Tuesday. He still has Improv classes until mid-November, and he has a bunch of band stuff through the end of October.

They have triple cast it, along with Baker's Wife. I am not sure what prompted that, unless they expect one of them to bail. DS really did NOT pay much attention to the cast list, which irks me because I need to know these things! He said his one friend is Witch, but he doesn't think there is an alternate, which boggles my mind. But, by his own admission, he didn't pay that much attention. The audition sheet said they would double cast the 6 main roles which I figured would be Baker, Baker's Wife, Witch, Jack, and maybe Riding Hood and Cinderella. One of his friends is a Prince, and one is Narrator. A lot of the kids are kids he doesn't know, so I guess he will be meeting some new folks!

When Rachel's school did Alice in Wonderland Jr a few of the roles were double and triple cast. That's how the actual play was written - the Cheshire Cat was 3 people on stage together, alternately talking. One or two other roles were done similarly.

Marci - Glad the sun is shining! I hope sports get moving again soon, though I'm sure the break has been nice. Terra's soccer for today has been cancelled as the city closed the fields. I'm guessing they're too wet as it's rained off and on for 3 days now.

Good morning, DDA!

We've got a gray day here today, but it's supposed to be good temps so that's good. Since Terra's soccer has been cancelled, I think we're going to head to the zoo. The Stingrays are only going to be here another week and we haven't made it back to see them again. Terra really wants to feed them so we'll be working to make that timing go just right. I think I'm going to have to convince someone to find out and tell me exactly when they will bring the food out for purchase so that we can accomplish that goal today. Last time I got the "we never know" though in the end one girl was really trying to help us. She thought she say the right people and had us linger, but no one ever came out. Since it's a small-ish area, they try to get you not to stay in too long so others can get in too.

Oh I so need to do that. What kind of hard drive do you have? How easy/hard is it to move your pictures?

It is super easy to move the photos. You can move them or copy them just like you would to put them on a zip drive or in a new folder. Very easy though a bit time consuming.

I haven't managed to send anything to anybody. I am too indecisive. I still have no idea what I will buy for Baby. I need to get out and LOOK at baby gifts!

Oh, I forgot to mention in my earlier post...

My cousin who has been in Iraq since March is officially on US soil again. He landed in Bangor yesterday afternoon and is on his way to San Diego for a week before heading home. If previous reports hold true, he probably will not go back again so that's good.

This week is homecoming week...another one of the lasts we will go through. Cassidy allowed (asked, actually) me to go to the bonfire last night. Those big stuffed animals that you win at the carnival/fair do NOT smell good burning.

Cassidy is going to homecoming with a boy she asked a couple of weeks ago...started out as friends but it seems to be moving quickly toward boyfriend/girlfriend.

How are you feeling today, Elin?

better than Wednesday night and yesterday. I really think I might have had a bit of a tummy bug. Other adults and students I am in contact with have had it and I usually don't have a reaction to foods. But, other than the traditional fall sinujs headache... I am feeling lots better. Thanks!

I'm not having a good day. I guess I'm down in the dumps. On top of that I look out the window a couple of minutes before the kids bus was due. There was a minivan on the side of the road with the hood up and a guy was doing something under the hood with wipes Immediately I think about Jaycee Dugard and I'm convinced that this guy was stocking a kid. I went to the bus stop to get the kids and the car left, out of state plates and the weird location on top of the fact that he drove away just didn't seem right. I've told all 5 kids to be on the lookout to see if we see the van again. I'm probably over reacting, but in this scary world you just don't know.

I've got my nephew this afternoon and he just flipped a chair that he was sitting in over and it landed on Colby. Colby had just told him to stop messing around with the chair Colby didn't get hurt too badly, but he's still crying because it scared him. I need to leave for work in about 20 minutes. This day just keeps getting better. Ugh. Somedays I just want to crawl back into bed.

At my local grocery store they have a coupon machine that sometimes pops out coupons. One reads save $2.00 off Any Bath Tissue 6 pack or larger.

My question - Do you think they actually mean any brand or the just the store brand?

I know I can ask a worker the next time I go, but I want your opinions.

Im sure there has been a ton of press--thats all we are hearing too (at least the eagles lost too though!) Without all those interceptions,the boys could have easily have won that game. I hope Monday night's game goes better...and that is really cool about Jerry Jones' grandson!
