DDA chapter 21

We've got to head to a meeting shortly so that the current Chair for our Girl Scout Neighborhood and I can divide the duties for the upcoming year. We've also got to figure out how to get someone to step up as troop organizer for one of our biggest and most active schools. Since it's an elementary school, if no one does it, we've got to. CJ's already taken over for the middle school and I really don't want to add this one to my plate. It is the school my troop is based out of, but since I'm not actually in the school myself, I don't think I'm the best for the job. Oh well, something will work out!

Yesterday, Terra and I finally made it back up to park day with one of the homeschool groups. We really need to make that a priority as I forget how much I like that group. I think it has potential for some real friendships for both of us as we're lacking in that sometimes.

Other than that, it's just the same old, same old - laundry, dishwasher, clean the playroom, get the dining room back under control, computer stuff. Why is it that my "time off" with no charge is no slower.

BASEBALL IS OVER!

And, I survived the heat last week...barely. Today they are predicting something around 105. I'm glad I work indoors.

I'm sorry for the belated birthday wishes, but hope everyone had great birthday's.

Robyn -- I'm so sorry you had to cancel Disney and that you have to have surgery. I've been having some issues lately as well and might be following you down that road. It sounds like you have a busy week as usual -- enjoy your time with those beautiful girls!

Deb -- I'm so sorry about Colby. Did he do any extra walking yesterday? I hope you get some rest later today.

Robyn - How my eye is depends on which mirror I am looking in at any given moment and the light in the room. Sometimes I think it looks better, then I look later and it looks worse. So who knows. It doesn't hurt unless I really rub it or prod at it. I don't think it is bruised anymore, but the lump is still discolored. I am not ready to attempt to color over it with eyeliner yet.

The Packing Rules are very clear - packing is to be completed by the 12th day prior to departure.

Elizabeth -- I'm sorry it was so painful. Was the procedure supposed to make it go away quicker or look better than without intervention?

Hi all, just got back from the hospital. Mom had fallen this morning and landed on her knees then fell back and hit her head. She managed to scoot over to the phone to call me and I went over and woke up Dawn and she called an ambulance because we couldn't get her up this time. Our security is called in when the guard house hears that an ambulance is coming so the 2 security guards got her off the floor. She had a x ray of the knees and a Ct Scan of the head, all is fine so they sent her home.

How scary, Heidi. I'm glad everything looks okay and she's back home. I hope she's not in too much pain.

Thanks Elizabeth. If we are offered a pin I might purchase one and then do all my Christmas shopping, that would use up a great bit of money, then there is always Oct. next year since they don't expire.

Heidi - I read the thread about the gift card. You definitely need a PIN to be able to buy one and it sounds like it has WAAAYYYY too many restrictions to be very useful. I can't imagine how many trips it would take for me to spend $500 on merchandise ONLY. I buy a few things each trip, but not $500 worth. As it is I am wondering how I will use the birthday gift card since it has the same restrictions. But trying to spend $75 will be much easier than trying to spend $500.

I'm not really sure what the ultimate goal was. It was so big and ugly I had to do something. The Dr. said it looks like the stye is actually attempting to come out through the surface of the skin - more like a pimple. But she said that would leave more of an open wound and a scar. So she tried to get it from the inside of the lid. But I don't think she really knows what it will do now. It is definitely smaller than it was, but it is still really noticeable. I am having lunch with my friend who works for the eye Dr. tomorrow - she said she would ask her boss if the lump will likely keep shrinking or if this is it.

So I'm still struggling with my weight. Last week I managed to drop about 3 lbs, but I've fallen off the diet again and gained those 3 back plus. I "think" I've decided to completely change horses for the next month and see where that leads me. I've been doing weight watchers points plan so I either need to try the WW core plan or maybe switch back to Atkins. I'm wondering if Atkins might work for me now since it's been years since I last tried it and I originally had great success with it. I guess I'd better dig out my materials and decide as I am committing tomorrow. I will do this...I will do this.

Thank you. They told her to take ibuprofen for the pain and that in 3 or 4 days she should be back to normal. She just bruised the knees (and the left one is the one that was replaced, so that worried them a little.)
Dawn and I know to keep and eye on her even though the CT Scan was clear as problems can still come up. The doctor was more worried that she hit her head then the possibly she blew out her knees.

How scary, Heidi. I'm glad everything looks okay and she's back home. I hope she's not in too much pain.

Yeah my 2 girls (cousins actually, but I call them mine) now have 5 kids between them, so the shopping adds up quick. It would be nice to get the pin.
