I'm not really sure what the ultimate goal was. It was so big and ugly I had to do something. The Dr. said it looks like the stye is actually attempting to come out through the surface of the skin - more like a pimple. But she said that would leave more of an open wound and a scar. So she tried to get it from the inside of the lid. But I don't think she really knows what it will do now. It is definitely smaller than it was, but it is still really noticeable. I am having lunch with my friend who works for the eye Dr. tomorrow - she said she would ask her boss if the lump will likely keep shrinking or if this is it.

Have fun at lunch -- I hope you get good news from your friend about your eye.

So I'm still struggling with my weight. Last week I managed to drop about 3 lbs, but I've fallen off the diet again and gained those 3 back plus. I "think" I've decided to completely change horses for the next month and see where that leads me. I've been doing weight watchers points plan so I either need to try the WW core plan or maybe switch back to Atkins. I'm wondering if Atkins might work for me now since it's been years since I last tried it and I originally had great success with it. I guess I'd better dig out my materials and decide as I am committing tomorrow. I will do this...I will do this.

I think a change is good sometimes. You do whatever you think will motivate you and help you feel better about yourself.

Deb - I'm a firm believer that none of these diets (WW, Atkins, etc.) work for the long haul. They are a temporary relief, only because once you stop, you revert back to "normal" eating. Weight loss is a way of life. One's whole way of living and eating needs to change forever. One needs to stop looking at it as a "diet". It needs to become a lifestyle. If one can eliminate the bad foods and replace all the snacking with fresh fruits and veggies, fish instead of meats, whole grains instead of white flour, etc., then there should be weight loss. Most people can't. It takes a huge amount of commitment and discipline. I know I can't do any of this, so I don't even bother to try. Good luck with whatever you decide to try. :wizard:

I've felt that way about every diet I tried EXCEPT Weight Watchers. And I like it for exactly what you suggested works best for you. WW now calls their program a lifestyle change, and that's exactly what it has been for me. (BTW -- this newer plan they've been using the last few years is quiet different than their old plans.) I use the flex plan and I can eat whatever I want and my own food, so it forces me to make good choices instead of handing me what they want me to eat, like I did with Jenny Craig. I do have to count points and I do go over my point total from time to time. Yes Jenny Craig did work for me-- it was super convenient but it didn't teach me about foods. I've used the WW approach now for 7 years, and while my weight has fluctuated, I'm healthier than I've been probably since college and have finally made my goal in the last couple of months. I definitely could stand to lose another 10, but I'm trying to be realistic about the weight I can retain. Just my two cents for anyone wanting to lose some weight.

long, rambling post ahead....it can be passed over, but I have to get it off my chest.

I woke up on Saturday to birthday wishes and an overdraft notice from our bank. :guilty:So much for having a great birthday. This was after fighting with Jim the past week about how he had promised to pay people (and then did) without talking to me about it. Jim only gets paid on the first of the month so for us to be overdrawn on the 11th is a big pain in the tushy and very stressful. We have one more bill Jim promised to pay (which I need because it is my only way to find a job) and the insurance that comes out automatically Thursday. So where, oh where, am I supposed to find $400 plus money for food and gas???

My mom sent my a nice check for my birthday...enough that I could salvage the day...kind of. We went to Plato's Closet for their grab bag day....paid $10 for 21 pieces of clothing (5 didn't fit but that's a pretty good day) that even on consigment would have been over $170. We then went over to the dollar store for another pair of sunglasses. It was at McDonald's where I realized my IBS was rearing it's ugly head in a lovely staining way. :headache:So we went over to the mall (across the street) where I paid over $20 for a yummy lunch and snacks. Then we went into JcPenney's so I could find some dark shorts to buy and change into. Thankfully, there were some on clearance (I also find some jammies and a shirt for each of the girls) and I paid $18 there.

I then went to get my birthday "cake". Last year, I didn't get a birthday cake, Jim made no effort to make sure the day was recognized in any way so I bought myself a large sweet-tart lollipop and called it my birthday cake...I did this again this year, buying four.

It is now time to go pick up the tickets for the movie. It was a great movie (17 Again) and a great price so that was fun. I should mention here that Jim was getting on everyone else's nerves.

We then went to my Grandma's house....where it was okay, she was on her pretty good behavior until she gave me my birthday card. In it was $100 bill and she said now you can pay a bill. :headache:It ticked me off, yes it will go toward food and gas, but it was my choice not hers. We had been talking about the air conditioner going out last year(again) and how even if I had the money to have it looked at it would go elsewhere as fans are working okay for now...in no way was I whining.

Then, I came home to take a phone call from my dad....and he said some crap that just made my day worse...it would take to long to explain.

Sunday was full of Jim and the girls fighting and me staying out of it because I sided with the girls. We then went to my grandma's again....and she said a dig again that ticked me off.

Yesterday was okay. Jim took the day off (why? we aren't sure) and we went to the free day at the museum sponsored by the SCFD. But as we are using the last bit of my mom's birthday money to buy bread and peanut butter he says that he is thinking of quitting his second job because he doesn't see how it's helping:scared1: (ummm.....you've been eating the proceeds of that job).

To top it all off, that time of the month came with a vengence (multiple changes of clothing daily) and I had a migraine yesterday.:scared:

I don't feel much better, but I've gotten it off my chest. If you read the whole thing, bless you.

Oh no -- I'm so sorry. You really deserve some sunshine and happier days. :wizard:

Robyn- Good luck with the surgery.
Heidi- Hope your Mom is not it too much pain.
Theresa- :wizard::hug: to you

I did something really stupid and lucked out. When I cleaned out my old car, I forgot to remove my Ez-pass. Its stuck on my window and pretty much hidden out of the way. Luckily I remembered today and they were able to locate it. Especially given my car was never on the dealers lot and towed to some location instead. I lucked out. Otherwise I would have had to pay the replacement fee.

I'm so glad it worked out!

Just a quick hello before I head to bed.

Mom and I went to a Pampered Chef party tonight and it was a lot of fun. Our demonstrator was hilarious! Enough so (plus a very tempting incentive offer) and I am now having a party in August. Hopefully it will have a decent turnout since my local friend base is limited. I think with some invites to a few friends of Kristi and Erin plus some Facebook invites as well and it should go well.

I got even better news tonight that someone has stepped up to be Troop Organizer at our elementary school. I had just started the ball rolling to get working on it myself and now I don't have too. :woohoo: With my other new position I was not looking forward to stepping in here as well.

Tia -- I love pampered chef. I hope you have a great party!

Heidi - I am glad your Mom is OK!

Elizabeth - I hope your stye continues to improve. I think the point to the surgery was to remove the infection that wouldn't go away on its own. Bob had to have that done a few years ago and the swelling is gone but it did take a while.

Theresa - the only thing I can offer that might remotely help is to continue to read and give you lots of

Donatalie made these DISigns and I loved several of them and thought some of you would as well.

I tried to post some directly in here but they are huge. I especially like 23 and 24. I want either of those in poster size.

I think Elin and herBob might need one of those.

those are wonderful! And I will have to think about them... Bob is probably cringing as I type that! :rotfl2:

Marci I agree that WW is a great plan. When I stick to it I can easily maintain my weight. It's just my sweet tooth that gets in the way  WW is a gradual plan and right now I need something a bit more drastic. I'm still within my ideal weight range, but I'm on the high end and my bathingsuits are looking a bit tight. Unfortunately I wear one everyday for work so I need to drop 10lbs pronto then I will be able to maintain again.

Hi,

Would anyone be able to put a red or gold/yellow (whatever you think looks better)oval border around this? Wendypooh is on a break until august & she is the one who did this for me. Thanks

That is very cute! Sorry I'm a moron and have no clue how to do that for you. Did you get the email with the voucher to print out to take to customer service on the birthday? I just got my reminder this morning. Some of you may already know this, but it has a cool gold voucher to print out.

Well I am a moron too with this design stuff!:rotfl:

Yes I printed out the vouchers. Thanks!!!!!!!!

Ann Marie the only designer that has been posting is Debbie.

Kristine and Beth haven't been on. Speaking of Beth wonder how she is?

Hi, all! I'm sorry that I am never around. I am trying to catch up after our trip, get Matthew things for going away, keep the others entertained, heading to doctor/dentist/eye doctor appointments, and thinking about actually cleaning my house. Plus, the computers seem to always be in use.

Ann Marie, that is an adorable design! I will try to get a border around it today or tomorrow unless someone else gets it done for you first. Is that the biggest copy of the design that you have?

I have a million (or close to that) photos from our trip to share, but that won't be today.

Unfortunately, I need to run right now, but I hope to find time to get back on the computer this afternoon. I do have an appointment to give blood at 2:30, though, so it all depends on how long that takes.

I do think and pray and even dream about the DDA. I just don't get on to let you know.
