Sorry nothing scandalous here. I now have a new AC, inside and outside units are under full warranty so any further problems will be at their expense.

We had another DIS meet here last night, it's always fun to spend time with fellow Disney fanatics.

Here's something a bit scandalous for you Elizabeth, my BIL and his family are arriving at Disney today, no plans, no ADR's, and they want to eat at a few restaurants, I tried to tell them last week to get on the phone or computer and try and get ADR's but they didn't do it. I also told them to be at the park for rope drop, they said their son didn't like getting up early, :confused3, why don't these people ask me ahead of time. :headache:

THAT was a DANGEROUS error! :scared1: Well, they will learn the hard way.

Has anyone heard from Kristine lately?

I talk to her on Facebook all the time. She is doing OK. :)

Deb, weird about the phone call.

Happy Birthday, Olivia!!! :dance3:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!

I hope you are having a magical time!

Have aWonderful Birthday with Mickey!

Have a nice afternoon, Elin.

We did!... left here at noon and returned at 8:00, and this spot is only 30 minutes away! Rather than post a long series of photos and descriptions, I put together a slideshow with titles that you all can choose to look at or not. That way it won't take up too much space on here either.

Winery Birthday Trip

I was seriously impressed by the entire experience. The location is gorgeous and the owners have sunk a LOT of $$ into it in the past 3 years. It shows. The food was better than good and the special touches they gave were much appreciated. We are new proud owners of their Wine & Dine Club which ought to bring some interesting events and packages over the next few years. It also gave us a 10% discount on all wines we purchased, all giftie items (like my new Wine~opoly game!) and a 20% discount on the Winemaker's Tasting. I have come close to "saving" my $50 one-time membership fee already!

The Bistro had a very eclectic menu and it was well presented and very good. We had a white wine cheese plate (brie, taleggio and a fresh goat cheese - served with a baguette, olives and a housemade apricot chutney), a cold avocado soup (I wish I had gotten a picture of this beauty before the girls tucked into it. It was a frothy, green cloud in a white ramekin garnished with a thin slice of lime. I also wish I liked avocados because it looked yummy.), their foccacia of the day (wild mushrooms and brie) and their paninni of the day (Turkey with Cheddar and a sweet, mustardy aioli served with a pasta salad that had a kick to it!).

The tasting was in the Barrel Room and included 17 (SEVENTEEN) generous tastings and commentary from the winemaker. It was about 75 minutes in length and he would have continued longer if anyone had wanted any additional information. There were two vertical tastings among all this: a Chardonnay and a Viognier. That was fascinating because Simeone (winemaker) had nothing to do with the first release of each, had helped with the blending of the second release, and was completely responsible for the third one we tried. It was so very easy to see the differences between them that way.

One of the reasons I wanted to go to this particular winery was that I find their wines to be less Virginia-tasting, probably due to it's location. They also have a port that is quite good and I was hoping it would be included in the tasting. It was! In fact, when Simone found out that it was my birthday and that this port was the first my DD had ever liked, he asked us to wait at the end of the event. The shots in my slideshow are not very good, unfortunately, because he went waaaay back into the barrels and blended two of them using the proportions he plans to combine when they are ready to bottle. It was a generous offer and one we took full advantage of. We drank almost all the hefty 2-3 oz. pour he gave each of us, and he joined us in toasting my advancing age. :rotfl:

What a wonderful way to spend a day! This place rivals most of the California wineries in its ambiance and treatment of its visitors. Virginia wines are getting better and better so that made it even more enjoyable.

Becky - sorry for more car troubles.

Janet - YAY for the computer!

Elizabeth - glad the eye is healing good.

Thanks for the dittoable!

Elizabeth - this is a stupid question, but have you cleaned your temp files and restarted your computer lately?

Elin, yes, I did both of those things yesterday. Plus a virus scan, a diagnostic of the audio through the Microsoft website, and a lot of poking around in the control panel. Nothing comes up.

happy sunday everyone :) We had thunderstorms til 4am (well, so the news said--i was hearing them til 130ish). I think today will be a pool day!

Should have sent me a PM, John would have told you NO on a Jetta.
Hope they get it fixed and no more troubles. :wizard:

Elin you will be going soon, I on the other have have too much time to wait. :(

I have reserved myself to the fact that we will have rain all summer, with just a few nice days in between. :sad2:

Hi everyone. Well, Lancaster, Pa has come into the big time. They are starting a Segway Tour. Ninety minutes of riding downtown for $65. Only six riders to a group.
What next??? :lmao:

Hi Terry

I could never ride on a segway, I trip over my own feet.

I know that Elizabeth has been in touch with Lindsay and Kristine, but has anyone heard from Kelli?
