That's just too fun! I love how several times they are dancing in the streets of the park and not a single person in the shot is looking at them like they're doing anything out of the ordinary. :goodvibes

I noticed this as well, only at Disney!

Elizabeth I hope you get your audio figured out!

$36 later & I have my laptop back :yay:

It is running like new, only thing for some reason I have not been able to download Java which is starting to frustrate me :confused3

I do know something but I would feel guilty posting it(not about anyone here). So just pretend that I posted something, will that work? :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

You can PM me. ;)

I have run all the diagnostics I can find and nothing is coming up. So of course the sound is still all screwy and I have no clue what the problem is.

Woohoo!! I'm glad it was a cheap fix. Back up everything ASAP!!!

Is it wrong that I want to peek at our registry? :teeth: (Not sure how scandalous that is but...)

I was always tempted!

Welcome back. It's sound like you have a fun time. What a nice way to honor your mom. Happy birthday to Katie! BTW, what in the world are Cornish pasties??? I'm envisioning something x-rated! :scared1:;):rotfl:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pasty It is pronounced past-ies (not to be confused with paste-ies).

These are very, very popular in the U.P. They were used in the mines. Church groups regularly make them for fund raisers and you can't go more than 60 miles without finding at least one pasty shop. Every 6 months or so, I need to pick some up for people in Lansing.

$36 is a bargain :cool1::cool1:

Elizabeth the 2nd video (audio) didn't work well for me either. The first one was okay.

Cornish pasties are hand held meat pies. They originated in Cornwall, England among the miners. They needed a way to eat a hot lunch without having to come out of the mine. Their wives created these "pies" out of heavy, thick crust filled with meat and vegetables. Sometimes, they would even put meat filling in one end and fruit filling on the other so there was a complete meal.

Katie tried them in London last year and has been hooked! So, I'm going to attempt them for her birthday. I'm not worried about the filling, it's the crust that has me worried. Although, now that I think about it, my pie crusts always end up thick and heavy, so maybe it will be ok!

Here is my favorite recipe for pasties. It is from my high school head cafeteria lady. She also catered my wedding. My high school class (30+ years ago) made this for our fund raisers every year.

Crust:

6 c. flour
2 c lard (shortening)
3 t. salt
1 to 1-1/2 c cold water

Filling:
1-1/2 # beef (chuck roast)
1-1/2 # pork (pork shoulder)
5-6 med. potatoes
3-4 med. onions
salt & pepper to taste

Dice ingredients & combine. Roll out crust in 7" circles. Place ingredients in center. Fold over and pinch around edges.

Bake at 350-375 for 1 hour or until meat is tender. Makes approx. 24.

The edges will be thick - these were for the miners to hold so aren't expected to be eaten. You can replace 1-2 of the potatoes with rutabagas. Rutabagas are very common in the pasties.

They freeze well. If you cook them and then wrap in aluminum foil. Chuck says they take about 9 minutes to heat up in the microwave when they are frozen.

It is pouring and thundering and lighting. Luckily it waited till after the picnic to start raining.

My car is back at the garage. It has a dead fan, which will not arrive until Tuesday. I was already taking Monday off. It would be nice to be able to use my car. The check engine light kept going on and off. It is covered under warranty but frustrating none the less. Hopefully this will be the last issue.

Tomorrow I was supposed to run a meeting for work. I canceled the meeting as my car is in the garage. I could have borrowed a vehicle, but feel bad logging 120ish miles on someone elses car. Plus I was not thrilled to have to drive so much for a meeting that will probably be 1/2 to 1 hour long. Although I will have to do it next week.

I hope you are all doing well!

Becky sorry to hear your car is in the shop again. :wizard: for no more problems!

Good morning, DDA!

There is definitely something wrong with the computer audio, but I have no clue how to fix it.

DH had to do this online tutorial thing for work yesterday and it didn't stutter but there was a lot of static. We have a new phrase. There was this exercise on following distance. DH had to click and drag the truck to follow the next vehicle (yes, it was as lame as it sounds). When he got too close the little man would say "THAT was a DANGEROUS error!" :rotfl2::lmao: It was rather amusing. The info in those things is always so terribly basic that it makes me feel like my IQ is dropping. And I was just sort of listening while I was folding laundry! But the dangerous error thing was funny.

Chanon - If you don't peek how will you know what else you might need to buy for yourself? ;)

Becky - I am sorry there are more car problems already! Hopefully this will be the last repair for awhile!

My eyelid looks pretty good. A little puffy, a little bruised, but the bruise is yellowish instead of purple so it isn't THAT bad. I am hoping I will be able to put make up over whatever bump is left so it will look SORT OF normal at WDW. I bought some sunglasses at Nordstrom a few weeks ago but I haven't worn them because I was trying to decide if I wanted to keep them. I think in light of the eyelid I will ABSOLUTELY be keeping them.

I ordered a camera strap for DH yesterday. He is still pestering me for a lens, but the lens is $400! :scared1: He seems to think this lens is absolutely necessary, but I think he is mistaken. :rolleyes1

Dum dee dum dee dum. :rolleyes1

Doing laundry. :laundy:
Waiting for my eyelid to heal.
Wishing somebody would post something scandalous. :bitelip:

Sorry nothing scandalous here. I now have a new AC, inside and outside units are under full warranty so any further problems will be at their expense.

We had another DIS meet here last night, it's always fun to spend time with fellow Disney fanatics.

Here's something a bit scandalous for you Elizabeth, my BIL and his family are arriving at Disney today, no plans, no ADR's, and they want to eat at a few restaurants, I tried to tell them last week to get on the phone or computer and try and get ADR's but they didn't do it. I also told them to be at the park for rope drop, they said their son didn't like getting up early, :confused3, why don't these people ask me ahead of time. :headache:

Elizabeth I have a couple of stories for you.

11:57 PM last night I get a phone call from someone :confused3 They even asked if this was Deb. They needed a key to get into the duplex as people were stuck in the bathroom :confused3 Now mind you I was sound asleep before the phone rang. I obviously sounded dazed and finally the person on the other end figured out that I was not the Deb that they thought and they said they had the wrong number. So Either I was being pranked or they really had the wrong number. In any event how did they get my number? Very weird

Second story. I was seating people at the restaurant last night. One of the older swimmers from the Aquatic Center came in for dinner. I made a comment that she gets to see me at my other job and she said "I get to see you with clothes on" :rotfl::rotfl: My coworkers thought it was halarious.:rotfl:

Becky - sorry for more car troubles.

Janet - YAY for the computer!

Elizabeth - glad the eye is healing good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLIVIA!
