well if I am even considering Disney this year I better not do that.
We are out of propane, so unless DH goes to get more we won't be grilling. We had pizza last night. I don't even know if there is food in the fridge.
It is easy to be blinded by the scammers, because those are the people who tend to be in the spotlight.
Kingdom Keepers II
Jeff pulled some Chicken fajita meet out of the freezer. So that is what we are having.
no kids here for dinner....what to do....what to do![]()
If DH didn't cook we would have starved to death a very, very long time ago.
nah....you just would have standing tables at certain restaurants![]()
Speaking of food....what's everybody having for dinner?
We are having pizza at the kid's school. It's a special night for families to come to the school for 2 hours to read with/to their kids and enjoy some pizza. Alan doesn't really want to do it, but I'm going to push the issue. He wants us to drop the kids off and they he and I (and Timothy) will go out to dinner. What he's forgetting is that we're already scheduled to go out tomorrow with his brother, and we only budgeted for one night out this week. So, it's pizza at the school, or he can have bread and milk here at home.
Thanks so much! I'll have to look into that! No way am I carrying a 50 pound bag!!!!Bernadette - I've been meaning to post about camera lenses...
You should look and see if you have a camera shop near you that will rent lenses! DH was looking at those super expensive telephoto lenses a few years ago, and the prices are just insane. Then, he found a place right down the road from us that will rent the same lenses out for a day, week, etc. Instead of dropping thousands of dollars (I think the retail for the one he gets is $8,000) on a lens he wouldn't use that much, he just rents it before we go to Kauai, if he's going to be taking any sports pics, etc. I think he normally pays a little over $150 for a week's worth. Just an idea.
Also, I'm sure you know this, but watch out for the weight of these lenses! Not just the huge telefoto ones, but just good "glass" in general. Jonathan has a wide-angle lens that I think easily weighs 5 lbs. on his own. When he has all the lenses he owns plus his base in his bag, that thing easily weighs close to 50 lbs. He will tell you it gets mighty old carrying that much weight in the parks!
Glad you weren't hurt!So I forgot to post this Wed.
Tues on the way to work a deer ran into my van. The deer hit in front of the front passenger tire. There is some missing paint in a couple off spots. Blood from said deer in a couple of spots. The bumper is missing a small piece. The biggest thing is the plastic that goes inside the wheel housing was rubbing on the tire. of course I did not hear this while driving the rest of the way to work. I started to hear it when I was driving home. The plastic clips that hold it on got broke on impact with the deer.
My child is going to drive me to drink. He REFUSES to wear black or navy pants. So he was up at 6:30, running the dryer because had convinced DH to do laundry last night so he would have TAN pants to wear. I have HAD IT with the tan pants thing. There is absolutely no reason to do laundry mid-week. NONE.
I am also very cranky about the band competition tomorrow. The mom of the annoying kid from the birthday party e-mailed me asking if we would take her kid to the competition. I was going to say no and be done with it, but I asked her what time he was competing. She says he WAS supposed to compete at 11 AM, but she asked the band director to switch his time to something closer to 1:30 (DS's time) so her kid can ride with us. EXCUSE ME? DH talked to the band director about it, and we are all very shocked at the way she went about it. Yet DH says we'll go ahead and take the kid. Great. Now we'll have to wait for them to "work him in". Ever been "worked in" anywhere? It takes HOURS. And this kid will NOT behave for hours.![]()
That's the part that makes me angry. We will have to wait for this kid, and he will annoy me while we are waiting. I have to work Saturday evening, so I was hoping to get in and get out of the competition QUICKLY. My other fear is that this will become a habit, where the mom will pawn her kid off on us whenever she can.
This is not a good start for my Friday!![]()
Hope everybody else's day is off to a good start!![]()
Perfect!Good Morning,

Did I ever mention how wonderful Chanon is![]()
She is crazy but her doctor needs to be held accountable for his part in this!I am sooooo furious this morning. It all started when I was getting ready for work and was listening to the Early Show in the background. They had an organization on there called Angels in Waiting, who made an offer to Octomom to provide her with a house and around the clock medical care for ALL of her 14 children, cost-free. This will cost the organization $130,000 a month and they are hoping to get donations from the public.

I could have just screamed. Here's a woman that has thought about nothing other than herself. Not about the health of her children or what kind and how she would provide a life for them. Then there is the doctor that aided in this. Why are these 2 people not held accountable for their actions.
After that this whole foreclosure crap got on my nerves, about how the govt. is going to make it easy for people who are facing foreclosure to revamp their loans.
Then to top it off my kids have a father that expects that he should get our children for holidays because he is entitled to them, like they are trophies on a shelf that he can take down and play with whenever he wants, and put them away when he is finished.
I am so sick and &^%$^&( tired of people getting hand-outs because they are "entitled" to them. People get themselves into situations and want the rest of the country to 'rescue' them.
Where is my rescuing? My handout? My piece of the pie? I have to work like crazy and sacrifice so I can provide a decent life for myself and my kids. Why do some people think that this doesn't apply to them????
I'm sorry if this upsets or offends anyone. I guess the reason that all of this stuff bothers me is because it sits so close to home for me. Sorry, but I am over the top infuriated by all of this.
No hospitalization for now, and hopefully not at all. She sounds bronchiolitic now on top of the pneumonia (it IS a word!) so he was a bit concerned, but she's acting 1000x better (which isn't saying much) and we all feel comfortable staying home and hoping the oral meds keep doing the trick. The MD pretty much said it helps tremendously that he knows us and trusts that Elise is in good care at home with an RN and MD, to where the only reason to hospitalize would be strictly if she needs IV meds. We're to keep temping her every 3 hours, and if it spikes again we'll be directly admitted. He's fairly confident it won't happen, as am I. Let's pray that confidence isn't unfounded!

Let me say there is NO WAY Mom could have gotten through her cancer treatments (which ended yesterday, BTW) without assistance if she didn't have double insurance coverage. Even WITH health insurance AND cancer insurance her bills are staggering. She's hanging in there, but if she did need food stamps or help paying for her meds or whatever beyond the help I can give her then I am SO thankful there are programs to help!

BUT...you would probably only get sick the first 3 times you got it.Can't afford to eat out every night. If we didn't starve to death the listeria from the lunchmeat would have gotten us by now!
Chanons Bob cooked her dinner the other night & I told Gary about it. So when he fixed breakfast for dinner last night he said to make sure & tell Chanon. I guess it is sorta a joke between us![]()
