DDA Chapter 17

I've been outed! :scared1:

Marci - I'm jealous of the fireworks show. All I got was a glass of sparkling cider and some Wii.

Bob just called. Grandpa Joe (his father's father) just passed away. Funeral is on Thursday.
Im sorry to hear about Grandpa Joe

Ah yes, Rock Band. Must not ever have too much to drink after telling everyone I absolutely would not ever sing.
:lmao: :lmao:
O rockband---i refuse to sing--but do the guitar and drums

So Terry when can you come over? I have alcohol and I could make jello shots if that helps. Maybe Elizabeth would come and sing too? ;)

oooo jello shots :)

It sounds like we need to get us all in a room with several rock band set ups and lots of jello shots. :goodvibes

Let me see if I can catch up properly:

Deb-glad to hear you took another day to heal. :grouphug:

Anne Marie-what an odd thing that they want to give the offer in person. Good for you standing your ground.

Beth-tell Laura congrats on getting to the next meet. :goodvibes

Marci-your trip report is so cool. Will you adopt me and take me next year?? I promise to stay up until midnight. :p

Robyn-Terry is in my prayers now.

Love the new scrolling tags

Sickies go away!pixiedust:

I have an interview scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. The person doing the interviewing called last night during supper so we played phone tag. She is a professional interviewer. Should be a learning experience. :upsidedow

Thanks for this post, ditto to everyone!

Chanon sorry to hear about your loss, hugs to you & Bob :grouphug:

Theresa good luck with the interview pixiedust:

For those of you on facebook, I just added some new photos of Timothy and the rest of the family. Check them out. If you are not on facebook, let me know if you want to be bored with them, and I'll post some here as well.

Absolutely post some here. I'm scared of facebook so I don't venture over there anymore.

they are really great Glynis

Vicki, did you and Chuck decide to do the breakfast and/or party? We're going to cancel our party tickets. Previous years it would have been fine, but not with the girls. We're still looking forward to the breakfast though!

We are doing the breakfast after the 5K. Chuck & I also got the package for the half marathon and we also have tickets for the party. We are waiting to see if we get more info on the party before cancelling. I believe we have until Feb. 22 to decide. Hopefully, we'll know more by then. I'm leaning toward cancelling but Chuck was leaning toward just checking it out because at least it would be something different.

Sure mail it to me, poor kid needs his latch hook before his wedding. :lmao:

Would you care to finish the latch hook I started when DS was a baby? I was going to have it finished by his first birthday. Now his 13th birthday is on Friday and it still isn't finished! :rotfl2:

I got a new Disney coloring book also. It has a monorail car on it with all different Disney characters.

the girls and I colored last night...I even got a new Princess coloring book. :p

OMG, NO!!! I can't carry a tune to save my life.

You'll fit in nicely with the rest of us :rotfl: Of course I do have some professional experience singing. I quite frequently HAVE to sing Happy Birthday at work :lmao: :lmao: I keep thinking that people will stop requesting once they hear me :rotfl2:

Elin, I forgot to thank you for the adorable e-birthday card. Alyssa and I have watched it several times. :goodvibes

Jen, your card arrived today. The nerve of the postman, not delivering it in one day! :rotfl: Thank you!

I appreciate hearing the DDA's input about the hitting situation. I know Matthew gets frustrated easily (he's a hot-head like his mama!) and though, he can verbalize well, often Alyssa doesn't listen to him, which is typically when he resorts to smacking her. Of course, there are just times that she ticks him off, too. ;) Usually the times he's swinging at Kevin and me is when we are in the process of putting him in time-out for another offense.

He's testing his boundaries left and right, and we're trying our best to remain calm (not easy...did you read I was a hot-head? ) and consistent. There are days I feel badly that he's not the "baby" anymore, and we make every effort to spend individual time with all the kiddos.

Thanks for the new motto, Elizabeth. He's now walking around saying, "Hand are for helping, not hitting." Matty's a good mimic...now perhaps, he'll take those words to heart!

I hope everyone feels better soon! Thanks again!

Neither of our girls was a hitter. However, Becky would not listen! She was a little terror. If you'd tell her to pick something up, she'd say no. If you put her in time out, she'd get up. She'd throw herself on the floor and have a tantrum. And on & on. Chuck finally started to hold her when she did this. He'd pick her up with her arms at her sides and hug her tight. He'd walk around and around and around talking quietly to her until she was ready to behave. I don't know how he did it. I couldn't stand it and I'd have to leave the house.

Of course I want to see them, and its never boring to see the kids.
