DDA Chapter 17

Yeah, I'm not expecting instant results, but I definitely don't want to see this transform into a much bigger problem. I hardly even witness when he hits Alyssa, because it usually happens when they are playing in her room, where I'm sure she's being quite bossy about HER toys. Of course, she tattles on him, but he's always honest ("Mommy I hit Alyssa two times...once on her arm and once on her head."). I will have to work on my own speed...he managed to make contact with me two times this weekend. Thanks again!

You will want to make sure that Alyssa isn't egging him on as well. I hate to admit this but I knew how to push my little brother's buttons. I knew exactly what to say that would get him to swing at me so I could get him in trouble. I barely remember this but mom remembers it clearly (because she finally caught me). However, even after he got older, if I really wanted to I could still get him going with my words. We were probably 4 & 6 or 5 & 7. He's about 1-1/2 years younger than me. Matty still shouldn't be hitting but you'll want to monitor to make sure that Alyssa isn't making the matter worse.

A three-year old once told my co-teacher, "My mother says that Mrs. MyLastName's singing is truly awful." You know that those words didn't come out of the child's mouth on her own. I've been able to laugh it off, because I already know that I can't carry a tune.

I got a new Disney coloring book also. It has a monorail car on it with all different Disney characters.

ohhhh...much better than my choice between CARS and the Princess one.

Chris worn a pair of jeans today that were not fit to be worn. They had multiple rips in them. I'm confident that he will not wear them again as I have torn them to shreds...while he was still in them I think he enjoyed it even though he played hard to get. The boys think it's hilarious.

Colby had a great day at school and he wasn't even tired when he came home. He sat with Hunter on the bus. He had hot lunch and 2 recesses and he did math.

Hi all... Got back in from the hospital about 5:45pm and just now am sitting down to relax. Terry came through surgery well. Peggy, his wife, saw him about 4:30 and said he was still quite groggy and complaining his stomach hurt. But that his head felt much better. They will keep a close eye on him the next month but this should relieve his problems. Thanks so much for all the well wishes and good thoughts. I appreciate them!!

I am now going to go back to read up but probably won't respond individually. I think an early bed time is in order here. and 's all around.

We are doing the breakfast after the 5K. Chuck & I also got the package for the half marathon and we also have tickets for the party. We are waiting to see if we get more info on the party before cancelling. I believe we have until Feb. 22 to decide. Hopefully, we'll know more by then. I'm leaning toward cancelling but Chuck was leaning toward just checking it out because at least it would be something different.

Maybe we can get at the same table for the breakfast! It said it was open seating, I believe tables of 10. That would be nice!

I forgot to tell you that we went to pick up 2 plays for Cassidy for Shakespeare this semester and ended up with a set of 12 because Cassidy wants to read the others "just because" and it wasn't much more money. I figured the Shakespeare lover in you would like that.
