DDA Chapter 17

Always glad to bring a smile to a hurting child's face. Good thoughts for the next doctor appointment. pixiedust:

Thanks for posting good wishes for Julia! :goodvibes Her mom (username "mykidsintow") posted that Julia loved them! She said Julia's Dr. appt. today went well, but they have another appt. tomorrow. I am not sure what Julia's diagnosis is. She is in a wheelchair and has a service dog, but I am not sure what health challenges she has.
Anyway, thanks for helping to brighten her day! :)

Janet-I hope the sickies leave soon!

Tom-great googly moogly!! I can't believe how close your trip!!:goodvibes Congrats on the weight loss.

Tia-what great pictures:flower3:

Jennifer-I am sorry you can't sleep when Kyle is on call...I had some problems like that when I was younger. I've gotten over it (unless the house is completely empty) but it took a long time and a lot of sleepless nights. :grouphug:

I know I've missed a bunch of people and for that I am sorry:flower3: ....I am in the middle of a funk that I can't seem to get myself out of. I haven't heard from the gentleman about the job so I am going to guess I don't have it and there is just some other things flying around here that I just can't escape from.

Tia - Thank you for posting those pictures! I'm so excited to get back to DL in June, but you really make me want to go during the holidays! Maybe to celebrate Timothy's birthday, huh? You look amazing, by the way! Keep it up, girl!

Tom - Way to go on the weight loss! I know how good that feels!

Jennifer - I'm sure you are going to have a great time with the girls, no matter what. Just remember that for a while, they are going to be calling all the shots on your vacations. Now that our twins are 6, they have to do what we want, but while they were napping, we wanted them to keep as close to their "home" schedule as they could.

Theresa - Hugs to you for everything! Wish I could come and hug you in person!

Today is going to be pretty easy. I need to get to Walmart for groceries and other essentials, but other than that, I'm pretty set to stay at home. I worked out for 20 minutes on the Wii Fit. I'm impressed with the workout that I got. Muscles are hurting and everything. When I started after Christmas, my Wii fit age was 52, but as of this morning, I'm at 46. Not bad, considering that I turn 42 on Thursday. Of course, I'd love my Wii fit age to be lower than what I really am.

Well, Timothy woke up, so I guess I'll go change him, feed him, and head out. I'll watch the inauguration while I'm feeding him.

Good days all!

I know, this is our priority -- we don't anticipate coming back for all 3 naps, but otherwise we'll keep it close!

Ooooh, this girl doesn't "wing it"! :rotfl: You might recall Kyle's & my half-marathon trip 2 years ago. We tried doing so, and I had a horrible time with it -- and we even had parks and ADRs planned, just no more details than that!

I have parks and ADRs planned, as well as a general "touring plan" -- I just know it might not be exact. I'm fine with that, but I have to have at least a skeleton plan or I'm lost! :rotfl:

Here are the parks/days --

Thursday (3/5) - arrive at lunchtime (after stopping to shop for baby essentials), check in and settle in, hit the MK in the afternoon/evening. (I'd love to make it in time for the parade, but we'll see.) Dinner at Chef Mickey's, Spectro if the girls can swing it. It all depends on how they travel, of course!
Friday (3/6) - AK in the morning, naptime at the hotel, back to AK for the parade and Tusker House dinner; nothing set in stone for the evening
Saturday (3/7) - Family 5K race in the morning, followed by special Princess breakfast for racers; DTD, Boardwalk, hotel etc in the afternoon (depending on the extent of "downtime" necessary for the babies); dinner at the Wave and Spectro/Wishes if we didn't see it the first day
Sunday (3/8) - Epcot in the morning (finally!), Crystal Palace and MK later... at least for now. This was the P&PP that we paid for, that is now not happening. I'm leaning towards canceling the party at DHS since it's not hte most baby friendly park, and just keeping this an MK evening. We'll see!
Monday (3/9) - MK in the morning, Epcot in the evening w/dinner at San Angel Inn; Illuminations if the girls can do it.
Tuesday (3/10) - DHS in the morning/early afternoon, nothing planned for the evening. Boardwalk, hotel room, etc. Dinner at Big River, I think. Or Beaches & Cream.
Wednesday (3/11) - MK in the morning, DS in the late afternoon w/Fantasmic dining package. I thought that might be necessary with all the stupid cutbacks :headache:
Thursday (3/12) - pack up, Epcot for a couple of hours before WWS for the Braves game. We fly out that evening :(

I guess those are just sort of "goals". Even then, it seems like very little park time with all the naps, etc required. Boo! I'm sure it will be more than made up for, though, by experiencing whatever we get to experience with Elise and Avery! :goodvibes: I have to admit, too, that if the girls are sleeping in the evening and Kyle doesn't mind, I might have to sneak over to Epcot a little more. It's my favorite park, and I'm just not feeling enough of it! :)

I remember planning naptime into our trip ONCE. It didn't work out at all. The kids would fall asleep in the stroller before we planned to be back at the resort. They'd wake up when trying to get them back and would not nap at all while at the resort. After a couple of days we gave up and let them take naps in their stroller whenever they wanted. Of course they were taking naps at different times, but we stayed in the parks and made the most of it. We never schedule breaks anymore, but we will take them improptu if we feel the need.

Theresa :grouphug:

your girls take three naps??? Man, even when they were just home my girls only took 2 and their nightly sleep. That's a blessing and a curse isn't it?

I ended up teaching a first grade spanish class, 2 eigth grade music classes and one 6th grade music class. I read 2 books for Spanish, babysat the 8th graders that were working in "groups" on a media project (8th grade needs silence, no groups and structure to accomplish anything). 6th grade should have watched a DVD, but there were no TV's available due to the Inaguration so they had their very first study hall EVER. I did find a Disney Classical Silly songs cd so we listened and laughed at that too. Now I'm home and watching the inaguration. I really want a nap, but History in the making is more important. I need to pick up the boys at 2:30 as they have a 3:30 dentist appointment. Then we'll come home and my cousin is coming over to give us all haircuts. Whew, busy day. Hopefully I will get to bed earlier tonight.

Kind of. They take 2 naps, from 9-11(ish) and 1-3(ish). Then they doze, usually in the car while we run errands, for about 20-30 minutes around 5. It doesn't really count as a "nap", but it gets us to bedtime!

what a busy day!!

What an amazing speech!:thumbsup2

But that had to have been the longest benediction I have heard ever and my pastors are long benediction sayers if they get on a roll. It was all wonderful and history making! The John Williams piece was absolutely awe inspiring. :goodvibes

That was the story of my life! It always worked better for us to just stay in the parks and nap in the stroller. However, Terra always worked on her own schedule no matter where we were or what we were doing (a blessing and a curse in and of itself).

I think that your plans sound great, Jennifer! Lots of stuff to do, good planning coverage for mom, but lots of flexibility for the girls all the same.

I agree all around. Very nice speech. Too long of a invocation, he lost me in there for a little while. The music though, beautiful! I was watching CBS and was disappointed that they cut the camera to a viewing in Philly with what was probably college-aged kids. They were distracting from the beauty of the piece for too long.

Tom - Congratulations on the weight loss so far. That is great! I can't believe that your trip is so close! Woohoo!!!

Glynis - Enjoy your quiet day.

Good morning, Kelli!

Deb - Do you get to enjoy the night off after your busy day?

Tom - WTG on your new weight loss!

Jennifer - Glad to see yo have an itinerary planned out!

Theresa -

Deb - you were a busy girl this morning!

I have not been impacted at all by the crowds and traffic. But they have not left DC yet, so we will see what happens this afternoon and evening. I am suspecting that Tammi is working hard since we have not heard from her today. The crowds and traffic messes up there were/are horrific!
