DDA Chapter 17

I tried one of the Hostess 100 calorie strawberry cakes last night & it was so good! It is a good thing they are small, because I could have eaten a lot more lol

Well, I am The Worst Mom Ever.
I COMPLETELY forgot to go get DS. They have early release every day this week because of exams. I knew that, but I got all wrapped up in the house thing. I asked Princess if she was getting hungry. She said "Hungry for what?" I said, "Lunch." She said "I thought we were going to go get DS!" :scared1: YIKES! It was 12:26 and DS got out at 12:20. As I was pulling up at the school my phone was ringing - DS was calling me from the office because he didn't have his phone. :sad2: There were still a ton of kids outside and the carpool circle was a madhouse. I am so glad Princess said something or we would have been even later!

I think we can manage the house if we like it. It would be expensive to get out of our lease, but not prohibitively expensive. It would just mean NOT paying off my Chase card right now and using our tax money for expenses related to moving - lease penalty, security deposit on the new place, buying a dryer, paying for movers and whatever other expenses we incur transferring our utilities and that sort of thing.

The house is in a different school district. I was looking at the website for the high school and it is incredible. It looks like a much better school than the one he would go to if we don't move. They have a MUCH stronger band program, a visual arts/technology program, all sorts of things that I think DS would really enjoy. I think he wants to go to 8th grade at his current school, then switch for high school. Of course all of this is cart before the horse (or school before the house) because we might not like the house and/or the neighborhood. :confused3

No I only wash 1 blanket at a time. However it is one of thoes very soft fleece blankets.

Did you wash it with anything else? I have a black sweater that I can't wear until I find my de-piller since I accidently washed it with a white dish towel...

Colby came home from school very excited today. The teacher had sat all of the kindergartners in a circle and placed wooden letters in the middle. She went around the circle asking each kid to pick up a specific letter. Colby said that all of the other kids got some wrong, but he got all of his right :cool1: Chris and I played it with him tonight and he got every single letter correct :cool1: We are so proud of him. Apparently it did sink in over time. Nick just asked me to help him with etiquette. I had to look up the answers for each question because I wasn't sure of the answers :rotfl:

Hunter is complaining of being dizzy a lot. I guess I should call his doctor and run it by him. First it was headaches and those have gone away for the most part, but now he is feeling dizzy. Most of the time it is just when he sits or stands, but other times it is when he is walking along. He says that things just go black. I can remember that happening to me all the time when I was a teen, but I don't remember when it started :confused3 Vicki didn't one of your girls have this? I'll call the doctor tomorrow
Congrats to Colby!:woohoo: Hope you can get some answers quickly on Hunter!:wizard:

Chris was trying to ask Hunter about being Dizzy, but it came out being Disney :lmao:
:rotfl:

My photopass cd came today.
Those are great!!! Love the one of Nicholas and the girls!

I think that I forgot to mention that we did buy the van today. Chris will have to arrange to have it moved to his dealership and he will need to get a motor for it. The outside looks really nice, with no rust, but then again everything around here is covered in snow so you can't see it all. The inside needs a good cleaning, but seems fine. Apparently the owner NEVER had the oil changed, ever. It is a 2003. It only has 62000 miles on it so I should be able to get a couple of years out of it. This is what it should look like

Congrats on the new van! Never got an oil change????:scared1: Our old Sienna is a 1998 and I think we have about 67,000 miles on it. DH is a home body!

How wonderful to "see" you!!!

Yes it is, but we are nervous about using ME.
I have used ME at least 10 times and the "worst" thing that ever happened to me was I had to wait for a 2nd bus to arrive one trip so I had at least a 45 minute wait for the bus from the airport to the hotel. The luggage delivery has always been great and it is SO convenient. I've had more problems with rental cars and limos than ME.

I finally have a drive with the vacation pics on it, so during lunch I'll post a few.
Love your new signature photo!!!!

So I was reading some reviews of Great Wolf last night and a couple of people mentioned getting a AAA discount. Hmmm. I just called them and I got $44 back! That will come in handy if I have to pay the $60 upcharge for having 8 people in the room! :thumbsup2 I didn't even think to ask about a AAA rate when I booked the room. The guy said there are no "local resident" rates, he didn't tell me there was a AAA rate. He also didn't offer to send me a confirmation e-mail, which the girl today did offer. Very cool!
:woohoo: That's nice!

:wizard: for your Mom and for the rental house. Will the renters be willing to pick up some of the lease cancelation expenses?

It is so cold outside. I think the high today is 28 degrees, but we are at 7 now and the cold front hasn't moved through yet:confused3 . There are also snow storms that should be pushing through before the cold front. Snowboarding tomorrow is going to be so cold. It is supposed to be sunny, with a high of 4 degrees. I need to pull everything out and get it into piles by kid, that will end up saving me a bunch of time tomorrow.

I need to run to pick up Colby. I started the car 15 minutes ago. Did I mention that I hate cold. Not to mention that I'm allergic to it  I'm hoping to avoid hives although a little benedryl would give me a nap wouldn't it
Stay warm!!!

okay for the amount of sleep I haven't gotten in the last 3 nights. No big headache but I have an ear that seems to be perpetually clogged with wax. There are no jobs to apply for today and I am ticked at my family. Okay....just got some of my grumpiness out. ;)

One of the guys on the local news station was complaining about ear wax so they had some woman come in and she used some sort of candle to remove it on live tv. It was pretty gross. Here's a link to some candles: http://www.naturallydirect.net/ear-candle.htm

Where is everyone???

I took a very needed nap...and missed an employment call...just called back, left a message. He just called back...I am going to look at the operation tomorrow afternoon. See if it's a fit for us both.

It is just part time right now but a fairly decent wage and I would be the first one in the position, which means it' would be mine to screw up;)

Bernadette - I am not sure if there might be room to wiggle/negotiate on either the rental rate or the security deposit. Since we haven't even looked at the house I don't want to ask about things like that yet. I imagine it will depend partly on how many other people have expressed an interest in the house.
The lady with this house found out we might be interested through another mom at school who also has a rental house. The other mom's rental has been sitting empty since Oct. 1, (I have mentioned her before) but that house is too big for us and the rental rate is too high. If these people aren't seeing much traffic we might be able to get them to come down on either the rental rate or the deposit.

Well, that's something! :thumbsup2

My friend used to do that "ear candling" on her kids. I would NEVER stick something in DS's ear and light it on fire, but that's just me. :rolleyes1

Good luck Theresa! :wizard: :wizard:

Glad that you got your nap.
:wizard: for the job.

Elizabeth, hope the house works out for you. :wizard:
Heck just getting away from the hammer is reason enough to break the lease.

Well then, we definitely need to plan this. We are up for just about anything. Dinner at Raglan Road, breakfast at Boma, eating and drinking around the World Showcase for F&W... we have no definite plans yet so we can do anything we want! :goodvibes
Absolutely! She likes to atke it easy. She wants to get some swimming in. We did none last time. She also wants to do a lot of World Showcase. I'm really hoping Terry will be able to join us some of the time. :goodvibes :goodvibes

:wizard: That sounds promising!

The fire was a long ways away from the ear. It seemed rather "magical" watching it on TV no matter how gross it was.

I think I must be needing some sleep or something but my first thought on reading your statement was "I wonder if she'd try it on her cat." It was a rather humorous image.:rotfl2: OK... I should probably go to bed.

Hmm.

I just got an e-mail from a family we know from DS's school. They bought a house to use as a rental, and they are asking if we are interested in looking at it. The house would be the same price as what we pay in rent + storage unit. We would need to buy a dryer, but the other appliances are included. It sounds really nice.

If we were closer to the end of our lease I would JUMP at this. I am worried about what kind of penalty we will owe if we break our lease. :scared: We still have 5 months left, so we really are nowhere near the end. I called DH and he thinks we should definitely go take a look at the house and go from there.
I agree with DH. You should at least look into it.
