DDA Chapter 16

Good morning, everyone! It's a cold, clear, windy day here. The kind of day that if you are a kid makes you want to go sledding, and if you are an adult, makes you want to stay in with hot cocoa and a good book.

Anyway, today is going to be busy! We are having Timothy's christening tomorrow, and we need to get the house cleaned before company descends tonight. After the christening we are all going to my SIL's house for a party. I told Alan I want my Thanksgiving dinner, since Timothy's coming prevented me from having anything remotely like Thanksgiving (they gave me tomato soup!). So, Alan is cooking 2 turkeys, I'm making pies and stuffing, and the rest of the family are all bringing something to round out the dinner. Sounds yummy, huh? Of course it means I have to clean my kitchen so I have somewhere to work. Wish me luck.

I'm also hoping to make a run to the library at some point. They are holding the movie Penelope for me, and I really want to see it! If I don't make it there today, I'll pick it up when I'm running errands on Monday. It will just be the baby and me, so that might be the easiest thing to do! We'll see how frustrated I get with my family. Yesterday was interesting, to say the least! The kids and I were working on cleaning the basement (under Alan's orders), but he was on his computer most of the day. He'd pop down just long enough to criticize what we were doing, organize one thing, and then back to the computer. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN TODAY! I may have to hide his laptop. If you hear a loud scream, it's me as Alan is choking me!;)

Have a great Saturday DDA!

Sounds like you will have a busy couple of days, Glynis. I hope you all have a wonderful celebration!

If any of you are also reading my "trip report" be advised that I am basically posting the same thing on there as I am on here. Saves you having to go over there to look at my visual TR! ;)

Tia - I forgot to say congratulations on the house hunting!!!!! What an incredible present! I agree with all the advice you have been given here. Just remember to have fun looking, and keep your mind open. I "knew" exactly what I wanted in a house, but when we walked into what would become our first home, none of the things I wanted were there. However, there was a feeling in that house, that made me smile. I knew that it was supposed to be our house.

thanks, Elin! I'll try to remember to take some pictures. Timothy is getting so big, it's scary! I want him to stay little. I guess I'm going through "last baby syndrome."

Thanks for making it easy for us!

I agree with everyone. Terra is sure growing up!

Elin - Beautiful pictures! Your tree looked amazing and I love the theme ornaments.

Glynis - That sounds like the absolute perfect Christmas for you guys this year. I know your Mom is thrilled. I'm glad your Dad got out and doing things and pray that he will continue to do so.

Kristine - Congrats on the sale and even more so on the soon-to-be buy!

Elizabeth - How's the science fair project going?

Vicki - Safe travels today and on Sunday.

That's a perfect ditto post! Thanks Tia!:goodvibes

Yes, I did! I only did one and we hung it on the light fixture between our rooms. Worked well and I was not pushing my luck with the girls. ;) Bob and I decorated our tree when we arrived on Sunday and the girls put theirs up on Christmas Eve and decorated it Christmas morning.

I got the multi-colored ornaments in a box at Target and got everything else from Oriental Trading Company. Thanks for the compliments. :flower3:

The ornaments are all perfect. I really thought that was one of POFQ's wreaths. You did a beautiful job!

I agree! I thought it was an "official" POFQ wreath, except that the masks, etc matched perfectly. That's why I had to ask!

A couple of quick pictures that I was getting for my mom.

Terra watching TV with her Charlie Brown Christmas Tree...

How cute! :teeth:
