Our stay at the hotel was fine. We were in Bill Murray's room from when he was in Punxsutawney for the 1992 Groundhog Day festivities!

And our view of the bandstand in Barclay Square (the next morning we couldn't see it because of blowing snow!).

or for someone who was really into The Grateful Dead!

We were told, after the fact, that these are specially grown to be those colors. I thought it looked more like something one would have in a room during Mardi Gras! :upsidedow

We also found these all over town. The Groundhog Zoo was right outside our window too.

Reminded me of the Mickeys that made the rounds a few years ago. :)

Elin I love the roses, not for a funeral mind you, but I do love 'em.

I was thinking maybe they were some sort of Judy Garland "Over the Rainbow" roses. Or Muppet "Rainbow Connection" roses. Or gay pride roses. I can actually see how they would come in handy for lots of things, but a funeral is NOT one of the things I would use them for! :rotfl2:

Jennifer... take it from someone who knows for certain: The alterations cannot be made unless you have a spectacular seamstress. The dress will have to be cut apart and recut and remade. That is why I don't have any of my favorite clothes from before.

I tried to tell her this...... "altering" is very different from "dress-making", which is what a seamstress will be doing if they have to get rid of half the fabric :sad2:

Do you all want to know the best part? She isn't even crazy about the dress, she just "thought it would be nice to have it out of the way".

Jennifer - If she is young she absolutely will not listen to any of you. ;)

Elin - Those are some very rainbow-y flowers.

I just taught myself how to turn on the Wii Fit. I got 38 minutes in before DS and DH came back from the lake.

She's significantly older than I was when I got married, but I have deemed myself the Best Bride Ever :rolleyes1 :rotfl: I'm sure not, but I definitely took other people's thoughts into consideration. I also NEVER would have been caught dead just throwing any aspect of my wedding together to "have it out of the way" :faint:  :faint:

No, seriously. You all have heard about my inlaws. There is no "other people" segment of their brain.... it just got left out. Period. This is the same SIL with the dog.....

To top it off, the dress will not flatter ANYONE over the age of 12, which is all of us. I am one of the smaller girls in the party, and there is, you know, "stuff" that overhangs a strapless dress, not to mention the fact that the "bubble style" skirt makes my hips look like I'm wearing a ball gown underneath

I think she's going to regret this decision when she sees her pictures........ she needs a wedding planner. ;)

I haven't accomplished a thing on my to do list for today. I have been productive though. One tree is down, some of the misc decorations too. I even went down cellar and started reorganizing the basement for 2 hours. A lot of the outside decorations that we brought in on Sunday are still wet as they were just thrown in a pile. Tomorrow I can put those away. The basement was a mess to start with because of the furnace installation. Things were moved around and not put back. I still have much to do down there, but at least I started. We also started our diet. So far so good. I have a lean cuisine in the oven for my dinner and I still have plenty of points left for later :thumbsup2

I also cleaned out the refrigerator. It looked chocked full, but now it is really empty. Lots of holiday leftovers that are now garbage. We are working on removing temptation.

Thank God I am too old....and everyone I know is married and or divorced....because if I had to deal with any of this bridesmaid BS now...I think I would just die.

do you any of you dvc folks have more than 1 membership number? if so, have you logged into the site lately?

I was thinking the same thing. I thought they were really pretty but not something you'd send to a funeral. :confused3

Exactly! ::yes::

 Either way, I thought for sure they were dyed!

I was too, but one of the florists came to the viewing and told my one BIL the story of the flowers. She did not offer an explanation as to why they were sent to a funeral. :confused3

the last funeral I was at there were several "cheerful" arrangements...I guess in honor of the person's life that they lived....I liked that concept.
