I wouldn't ever, ever bring an animal even long distances without a specific invitation.
You do not bring animals uninvited to someone's home. That is just so wrong on so many levels. Is she too comfortable with you so blind or trying to make a statement that she is in control?
I would NEVER bring a pet uninvited to someone's house! While a pet might be fine in it's own environment, they act totally different around strange surroundings. Peeing, barking, scared, excited, out of control. Believe me I know this from experience when my brother brought his new puppy over when Leighanna was a baby! I urged them to put it in its carrier and put it in the garage. I am a pet lover, but sheez, you cannot socially visit in a calm and respectful manor with a wild animal running amuck!
I hope that things calm down for you soon!
I would have to tell them the dog needs to stay home or put in boarding while they are away. I would be very upset myself! Sorry but that is just rude & very inconsiderate
If a dog pee'd on my carpet ONCE that dog would NEVER come back. You have crawling babies. Babies should not have to crawl in dog pee. I would tell your SIL she needs to pay to have your carpets cleaned professionally and that the dog will not be allowed in the house again.

UGH!!! I would be SO mad!!!!!
Well, at least I can commiserate here

Elizabeth, my dog has peed on my carpet more than once, so it's a bit hypocritical to say that, unfortunately! (We do have our carpets cleaned, though, and now own a kick-#$*@ spot lifter since our girls puke green and orange all over my house
To be honest, Vicki, I think it's total ignorance. My MIL thinks nothing of it if Bella does anything I mentioned (shocking, I know). My SIL and her fiancee are actually being REALLY proactive this time, and the dog has been somewhat calm, after she got over the initial excitement of being here with my dog. But seriously, I don't know if it's small-town mentality or what, but it really doesn't ever seem to cross their mind when they do ANYTHING over normal boundaries.
So really, I don't even know that I would mind Bella being here (under certain circumstances -- they were farther away, she stayed crated when necessary or in the basement, she wasn't a raving lunatic, etc

).... IF THEY HAD ASKED. I thought it might just be me, but at least a few of you agree that it's just rude!
I made the royal icing. We had on tragedy to start. These house parts had come from Mary K's house to the office 55 miles then 12.5 miles to my house then sat on my kitchen counter (in zip lock bags) for about a week. Every house front was a bit broken and one roof the we couldn't fix:
...
Did you read my blog about gingerbread houses?! I hate them! (Yours look great, though! I hope you made it through less stressed than I always ended up!

)
I just took one of 4 employment placement tests....and I am going to shoo the rest of my family out for awhile later today to finish the others.
I would love any spare pixie dust on Monday that this agency is able to place me quickly.
Oooh, that's my goal too! I love games and want to have a great big collection of them.
No, it was just a regular card. I'll post a copy of her Christmas pictures though as soon as I scan them in.
That's just not right. I'd never bring my dog along without express permission.
Yeah, we have a pretty substantial few shelving units in the basement, but I'm not sure how many. My parents collection is fabulous, and we play them all, too!
Please do post Terra's pictures, when you get them in! That mail was too weird!
I feel guilty complaining after the RIDICULOUS amount of stuff piled in my living room from my inlaws, so I'll keep it just to the dog issue and not anything my MIL, although it's pretty typical.
OH! I do have to tell you all this one, though. It was quickly squelched so I mostly just think it's HILARIOUS. My in-laws wouldn't get the joke, though... I know you all will.
MIL: "[FIL] and I just put in vacation requests for the time you'll be in Disney World in March. We thought we might like to go to Florida in the spring anyway, so we thought we could go and just watch the girls sometimes so you can have time together, or hang out with you all ...."
Kyle and Jen, simultaneously: "No, not on the girls first trip." (Very definitively).
MIL: "Oh.... we thought that would be perfect. We would just take the girls when you wanted blah blah blah".
Kyle and Jen: "No, not on their first trip."
MIL: "Well, but..."
Kyle: "Maybe some day, although really we've already talked about this and you know you won't "do Disney" the way we do, and Jen's not going to compromise our trips, but their first trip is something we've been talking about since before the girls were born, and nobody else is invited."
MIL: "Well....."
(Are you freaking kidding me? This conversation didn't end here. She doesn't have a clue!

)
I hope you all are enjoying your evening!
