I'm actually glad to hear that clarified. I guess I just made excuses for "them" and "us", touting that it must just be "different". They actually probably have more money than my family did, so I know it's not about that.... I guess it really is SOLELY about personal preference. I just have never met as many people as those in Kyle's extended family, that think a wedding is as joke-worthy as they do.

I just grew up assuming everybody wanted SOMETHING resembling a fairy-tale wedding, even if it wasn't the same level of "fancy" or "frilly" as someone else's, you know? Apparently I'm wrong. Not the first time...
Then again, everyone I know thought we were crazy for not drinking. We wanted to remember our wedding and reception, which is apparently also not normal
