Elizabeth - You might appreciate one of Terra's most anticipated things - Jack Skellington Haunted Mansion! Apparently, that's the only way she'll ride it anymore, or so she tells me.

I'm more excited about Holiday Small World. Sooo many lights!

I so totally want to do both of these things. Plus I think the Castle looks great. I had originally said the only way I wanted to go to DL was if it was Christmas as they change the attractions. But I got to go without them decorated for the Holidays. I would love to go to DL for Christmas. WDW too but I have experienced that before. Although I have never seen either with lights.

My day has been made! I hadn't remembered that the Disneyland castle got the icicle treatment last year as well. So, while not as impressive as Cindy's I'm sure, I do get to see this in a few weeks:

So that facebook thing is a total fiasco. My desktop is completely unusable. I'm in the process of restoring to factory setting. Many photos will be completely lost :sad1: I ran antivirus programs at least a dozen times and each time it found the trojan.exe and supposedly got rid of it at least until the next time I rebooted. I truly hope that none of you have the same issues. I'm 10 hours into this process and have no idea when we will be able to use the desktop again. I'm also hoping that it didn't spread to any files on our other computers through the network.

:cool1: :cool1: I'm glad that you at least have concrete dates. I'm sure your plans will develope quite nicely now.

Just let me know what time you'll be arriving ;)

Next weekend works for me.;) Or around New Years.;)

Destructive Koobface virus turns up on Facebook

Thu Dec 4, 2008 9:52pm GMT

BOSTON (Reuters) - Facebook's 120 million users are being targeted by a virus dubbed "Koobface" that uses the social network's messaging system to infect PCs, then tries to gather sensitive information such as credit card numbers.
It is the latest attack by hackers increasingly looking to prey on users of social networking sites.
"A few other viruses have tried to use Facebook in similar ways to propagate themselves," Facebook spokesman Barry Schnitt said in an e-mail. He said a "very small percentage of users" had been affected by these viruses.
"It is on the rise, relative to other threats like e-mails," said Craig Schmugar, a researcher with McAfee Inc.
Koobface spreads by sending notes to friends of someone whose PC has been infected. The messages, with subject headers like, "You look just awesome in this new movie," direct recipients to a website where they are asked to download what it claims is an update of Adobe Systems Inc's Flash player.
If they download the software, users end up with an infected computer, which then takes users to contaminated sites when they try to use search engines from Google, Yahoo, MSN and Live.com, according McAfee.
McAfee warned in a blog entry on Wednesday that its researchers had discovered that Koobface was making the rounds on Facebook.
Facebook requires senders of messages within the network to be members and hides user data from people who do not have accounts, said Chris Boyd, a researcher with FaceTime Security Labs. Because of that, users tend to be far less suspicious of messages they receive in the network.

Deb - Holy cow! I am sorry you have to deal with the computer mess! I hope you can figure out how to fix it!
Thanks for the card! DH and I both like the photos! :)

That is exactly what happened. I never suspected it being a problem since it was coming from one of you. Of course the article does not say how to get rid of it :confused3

I think my facebook days are finished. I cannot worry about this in the future. It is sad that we are all so vunlerable.

this was on the facebook site

I spoke to my mom on the way to ballet. She is doing OK. She was getting ready to go to the party. She goes in next week on Monday and Thursday for the shots to stimulate her bone marrow, then she will start radiation either the end of this month or in January. Her oncologist said she might just need 4 weeks instead of 6, so that would be good. Thank you all for thinking of her and praying for her. :goodvibes

We had another weird message today, but they were not looking for my worthless BIL. This woman sounded like she was looking for ME, but her English was horrible. I scanned back through the caller ID and it turns out HER name is Elizabeth. The message said to call her back. Um, I don't know her! She called again a little while ago. She was looking for someone called Susanna, so she obviously had the wrong number.

Thanks for the links. I'm installing cyber defender on my laptop now. I'm hoping that things hadn't already spread. I've checked our online accounts at least the ones I remember. I should check our credit report, but maybe I'll wait a week or so in case it take a bit for things to show up. This is not the time of year that you'd want this to happen.

That is beautiful! How is Terra?

Here are a few pictures to hold you over! I loved that I was able to get to see this in January when I was at DL:

Deb - I hope your computer problems are not too hard to fix. I did try to open the messages from you and Terry and Denise, but my computer would not do it, as far as I can tell. McAfee hasn't found anything but I think I need to try something else too, just to be sure.

Bob had some bad news at work today. They are cutting everyone's hours to 32 per week. I keep telling myself that at least he still has a job but that is a pretty substantial cut in pay. :(

I'm so sorry to hear this Elin. Prayers & pixiedust: as you guys deal with the cut in pay. It is definitely a big loss. That is 20% of his pay.

Chuck got our Christmas present from my mother and is already playing with it. :lovestruc The girls have their laptops and are loving them (which mom bought them). Mom bought Chuck and I each a webcam so that we can talk to each other online. He emailed me a video tonight since I don't have mine yet and we can't talk live :cloud9: This is going to be awesome for us.

Thanks, Vicki. Yes it is.... and he had already lost his bonuses which were even more than that. It is going to be tight around here.

I suggested that we cancel the WDW but both he and Kristin said no. They said we have already paid for most of it and the things that are left (special dinners, the Segway Tour, the carriage ride) can be canceled and we can spend lots of time together in the parks and having our own mini "Food and Wine Festival" as we eat at CS restaurants instead of signature ones.

Kristin also reminded me that she is working and can chip in. She had offered her sister money and the offer was lovingly refused at this point. But I have to admit that I am starting to get a little scared.
