Chuck got our Christmas present from my mother and is already playing with it. The girls have their laptops and are loving them (which mom bought them). Mom bought Chuck and I each a webcam so that we can talk to each other online. He emailed me a video tonight since I don't have mine yet and we can't talk live This is going to be awesome for us.

Those were amazingly practical but wonderful gifts for you all.

Bob had some bad news at work today. They are cutting everyone's hours to 32 per week. I keep telling myself that at least he still has a job but that is a pretty substantial cut in pay.

That is horrible news. I hope that you can weather the storm financially. It is certainly hitting all of us.

Have any of you googled your name lately? I just did mine and when I put in my whole name as it reads in facebook, it brought up my profile To make it worse I can't get into facebook to remove my picture or close the account. I never realized how dangerous facebook is.

I may have to exit facebook too... it is not worth the hassle or the time it has been taking for me to stay up-to-date on there... I am so sorry oy uare having troubles because of it, Deb.

When I Google my name it shows up as part of others' profiles but my own profile is not on the list of 10 pages that come up.

Deb, I hate to hear how much trouble you're having with your computer! I hope it's resolved quickly (I mean from here.... I know you've already spent a ton of time on it!)

Unfortunately, as technology gets better and hackers get smarter, any time we do ANYTHING on the internet we run the same risks -- it can definitely be scary! This virus sounds like a really nasty one, but similar tactics can be seen all around, not just on FB. Everyone, please be careful when considering clicking on links, etc. If it seems "off" (like Terry really found a naked video of me on YouTube.... ) check with that person via another means before opening it. Or just don't! If they really sent something and wanted you to open it, they might find it important enough to ask you about it again. It's sad, but you have to be a skeptic these days on EVERY internet venue, even as simple as your email, you know?

The link that was sent to me was Denise commenting on how wonderful a video was. No naked or suspicious things in the title. We often make comments on each others videos so it didn't put up any red flags My computer is still acting wonky, but it is restored to factory settings, what is lost is lost and all of my applications need to be uploaded from disk when I get a chance. I will do it as I need it. Of course I do need to find time to reset my in home network. I finally quit at 1 AM as I didn't have access to all the computers.

Thanks for the info Kristine. Even though I did click one link in my email to see what the message was, there was another link and facebook said not to click it as it was malicious. So far I have had no problems, but I have decatived my account on facebook and I sent my sister and email with your post.

I opened the email as well and even clicked the link....but the next step was to download something....I didn't...not because I thought it was bad..but I was too lazy at the moment. Thankfully I did not....it seems the downloading of the link is where the issue comes from.

Elin -- I'm so very sorry. Could Bob find any consulting since he'll have a little extra time?

Deb -- I hope your computer stops acting wonky. Has everyone seen the virus alerts about the Hallmark Postcard virus? The e-mail tells you that you have received a Hallmark Postcard from a friend, but it's really a virus that will fry your hardrive.

No tree done yet, but I'm hoping tonight. I have my niece's Nutcracker rehearsal to go to tonight (since Randy won't want to go, I'm going to tell him he has to do the tree for me -- I hope that works...), my other niece's performance at 10:45 tomorrow, need to pick up Andrew's cake, take it to my office to leave overnight in the fridge, then I'm meeting Lindsay and Elizabeth for lunch. I have errands after that, then we are going to the Dallas Mavericks game. Sunday will be Church and Andrew's party.

We haven't had a lot of good news on here lately (other than Timothy's arrival!) so I hope today we start to see a turnaround.

It seems like I might have completed a registration at some point, but maybe not. Uncle1 had e-mailed me some sort of thing to fill out to be listed as a friend, but maybe that was for YouTube. Or maybe he sent both and I just filled out YouTube. I can't remember. I have never created any sort of profile on FaceBook.

When I asked my mom the other day HOW my name would have connected me to BIL's creditors she said myabe they Googled him and came up with my name somehow. So I Googled him and my sister. It did bring up her FaceBook listing but it was just her name and her picture. It said I would have to log in to see more. I don't think I would have been able to access anything more even if I did sign in.

Good luck getting everything fixed! What a pain!

Bill's youngest son is having a rough time.....the wife got fired from HP....they just bought a house 6 months ago.....and now she has health issues.

I agree... there was nothing "odd" in the subject line that would have indicated to me that it was something I should not click on. I figured it was something like ElfYourself or one of those fun things to do. I think as this thing is mutating it is getting a little raunchier in its subject line too. I got another one from Denise yesterday that was a little off...
