Vicki,
Better to stay in & have the party later. Stay warm.

Kristine,
Wow that sounds like bone chilling weather. Hope you can get out & have safe travels.

This is the way I'm feeling this morning so thought I'd share.

Eva just called. The roads were quite bad and she turned around. We have called the party off. I really want everyone to attend and if that means we have it after the New Year, so be it.

It's absolutely better to be safe! I'm sorry you had to cancel!

Thanks for all the empathy. I have felt a bit melancholy before, but this time I'm totally internalizing it, and can't shake that somehow I could do something different to not feel like this. I know it isn't true, but I'm really struggling with it.

Back to work and play! Take care!

Good Morning...

Happy 13th Birthday Katie!!!

Marci- :cheer2: for Andrew's game and that his mouth is feeling better. :wizard: for his midterms.

Everyone that is dealing with nasty weather, stay safe and warm. :wizard:

I need your ideas again. I need to pick up a gift for Em's friend, the one who lost her dad, and I have no clue what else to get her. I know the other mom's got her toys but I wanted to get something a bit different. I did pick up a journal but wanted something else. Any ideas?

Jennifer, lots of 's.

Andrew's mouth is finally much better, and he had some chicken cut up in to tiny pieces yesterday. Progress! I wasn't sure he would have enough energy to play two basketball games on Saturday, but he did and played pretty well. I think he scored two points in each game. They lost both games, but he had fun. He has midterms this week, and with his poor memory skills, I'm predicting disaster. Any spare good thoughts for him Wednesday - Friday would be appreciated. He fell asleep on my bathroom floor last night studying the 30 page study guide for history.
I'm glad his mouth is feeling better!

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: for mid-terms!

I'm glad the party was postponed. That was the safe thing to do. Now when everyone is going through post-holiday blues, you will still be partying! :goodvibes

Arctic....7 with 15 below wind chill.....blanket of ice all over. I have even attempted to go out yet....I have been starring at the tv which keeps telling me that Tuesday night we are due for "substantial snow fall" and we are trying to leave Wed morning.
:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Are you flying or driving?

I'm feeling a bit guilty here, where we have 60 degree weather today. Tuesday and Wed it's going to drop into the upper 40s and then warm up again. That's a heatwave compared to what the rest of the country seems to be suffering.

How about one of the Chicken Soup books? Is she at that reading level?

Jennifer-  my only advice is to enjoy every smile and fit....you will be wishing for them when you get to the surly teen years.:rotfl:

Vicki-I am glad your team dinner has been postponed. The weather out there is wicked...better to have them all safe in your house after the first of the year.

Robyn-my best present idea for Em's friend would be a sketch book and pencils. While the journal is great this friend might need to have a place to express her feelings in pictures not just words.

Denver hit a record last night....officially -19 was the low...we may get up to 15 above today!!:yay:
