Amy or Jennifer do you want to share what went thru your houses last week. I am wondering if the girls have it.

Marci glad to hear Andrews mouth is feeling better!

I am happy to hear he is starting to feel better and eat solid food again! Lots of good wishes for his tests this week! :wizard: :wizard:
You are so sweet to think of DS! :goodvibes We will have a max of 6 boys, including DS. DH and I are still trying to decide which weekend we are going to book, so I haven't mentioned the party to any of the other moms yet to get an idea of who will actually be able to attend.

Eva just called. The roads were quite bad and she turned around. We have called the party off. I really want everyone to attend and if that means we have it after the New Year, so be it.

I am sorry you have to postpone the party!

Arctic....7 with 15 below wind chill.....blanket of ice all over. I have even attempted to go out yet....I have been starring at the tv which keeps telling me that Tuesday night we are due for "substantial snow fall" and we are trying to leave Wed morning.

Yikes! :scared1: Stay safe, Kristine!

Thanks for all the empathy. I have felt a bit melancholy before, but this time I'm totally internalizing it, and can't shake that somehow I could do something different to not feel like this. I know it isn't true, but I'm really struggling with it.

Back to work and play! Take care!

I hope you are able to work out of your funk soon! :wizard:

I just spent 30 scintillating minutes in line at the post office. I had the package for my mom, then Momboss left 2 more packages that needed to be shipped. At least I was able to do it in one trip.

I am DEFINITELY going to buy a rotating tree stand, because I can't stop thinking how nice it would be to have one! :rotfl2: I just need to find one for a decent price. Penney's and Amazon have them for about $30, but they are the smaller ones that may not be able to hold the weight of my fully decorated tree. Of course there seem to be only 2 choices - that one, and the one that retails for almost $100. :rolleyes1

I was going to buy Princess a trunk of fairy dress-up stuff for Christmas, but I waited too long and they are sold out. :headache: Now to figure out something different.

Good Morning...

Happy 13th Birthday Katie!!!

Happy Birthday, Katie!

Glynis and Deb - Have you received any packages??

Amy or Jennifer do you want to share what went thru your houses last week. I am wondering if the girls have it.

I responded to your PM.... it doesn't sound the same though. I hope your whole house gets well quickly and/or stays well! :wizard: :wizard:

I'm going to quote this too but ask if Becky and Tia have received anything...

Nope, not yet. I will keep my eyes out for something.

Speaking of, one of my packages should have arrived. The other is close, it is in the correct city. The other one all the tracking says it left the Philly processing center.

I am digging through My Mom's recipes so I can mix cookies. I have asked her for years to pull out her favorites so I could compile them into book or some easier to use format. They are still on random papers in several recipe boxes. I am determined to make them easier to use. Plus that way my brother and I should have them for the future.

I was going to run around shopping today and decided not to. Instead tomorrow after my meeting I will stop for a few things. As I go through the Lehigh Valley mall area on my way home from the meeting.

Thank you Jennifer (tink) and Elizabeth for the Christmas cards.

Oh, it is so cold here!!!! I was going to head to the store, but I think Timothy and I will stay home! I've made all the pretzel wreaths that I'm going to, and I've done 5 batches of peanut brittle. Next up was going to be lemon truffles, but I'm going to wait. Don't want to go to the store for the lemon curd. I'll make some fudge instead. The truffles can wait until tomorrow.

Vicki - I'm so sorry you had to cancel your party, but like everyone has said, better safe than sorry. I'm sure it will be a great party after the New Year!

Kristine - I'm praying that you'll be able to make it on your impromptu trip tomorrow.

Jennifer (tink) - I know how you are feeling. There's something very bittersweet about watching your girls reach these milestones. Trust me, as they grow, they'll continue to astonish you. You'll never forget these early months, but the ones to come are just as wonderful!

Tammi - Glad that you and Bob are lice free. How's Alyssa? Did the ex take care of things?

Marci - Glad that Andrew's mouth is feeling a bit better.

I'm enjoying all the Christmas cards. Mine are done, stamped and sealed. Now I just have to get them to the post office. If it warms up, we'll do that this afternoon, if not, I'll send them out tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who has sent me a card. They are hanging on my front door, and I love to look at them!

Went to the mall to finish up some last minute Christmas gifts. The kids were "uneven" when I laid all the stuff out so I bought some filler things from Bath & Body (for Katie) great sales by the way, Gamestop (for Daniel), & TDS (for Sophie). I just need to get baseball cards for Daniel & am waiting on some books I ordered to come & then the kids are officially done.

Dana needed a new shaver. Walmart had one for $51 last week & I almost got it then, well good thing I waited because today it was on sale $34!! :cool1:

I bought ornaments for my kids religion teachers & Daniel's bus driver.

So I came home & wrapped & wrapped & wrapped.

Glynis-what is your high supposed to be the next couple of days??? We aren't supposed to get into the 30's any time soon. My only problem is that it's red advisory for the ozone so I don't get to put any logs in the fireplace.

I think I might make a batch of toffee today. I've got laundry going and Cassidy should be home soon from her first (and hardest) final.

The girls get out of school on Thursday and go back the 5th...I think it's the longest winter break they've had in a long time. We have Abi's choir concert tomorrow night...before that I will brave the cold and get my fried hair cut.

I was going to bake cookies this week but I think I will wait for the girls and we will do it next week if we can figure out what cookies to do with the ingredients we have on hand.

Eva just called. The roads were quite bad and she turned around. We have called the party off. I really want everyone to attend and if that means we have it after the New Year, so be it.

Sounds like a good choice, Vicki. If you Yoopers don't like the roads they must be awful! :scared:

Arctic....7 with 15 below wind chill.....blanket of ice all over. I have even attempted to go out yet....I have been starring at the tv which keeps telling me that Tuesday night we are due for "substantial snow fall" and we are trying to leave Wed morning.

Well, we're nowhere near as cold as you! Our high today will be 29 degrees. Brrr!!!

Good luck with the toffee! I won't do any candy that I need to use a thermometer for! They scare me to death!

Our school is out this Friday and we go back on January 5th. Usually I would complain about being out that long, as my kids get bored. However, this year, we'll be with cousins, aunts and uncles for most of that time. I'll fill the few days before we leave with baking, present making and delivering, etc., and the kids shouldn't have time to get bored.

I just found a chocolate chip cookie recipe that calls for a box of vanilla pudding mix (or chocolate) in the recipe. They look really good, and the pudding is supposed to keep them soft and moist. I think I'll let Katie try those out. If they are good, I'll post the recipe.
