This picture has probably already been quoted a bunch, but it deserves another one. That is absolutely adorable!

Got a new ticker.

We debated between Jan. or Dec. 2009
Dec. won out as we would be able to stay POFQ, if we went in Jan. we would have to stay Pop and John was not happy about that. Also we love all the decorations and the Christmas party. But the biggest reason for Dec. is John is determined to stay Contemporary once, so we have longer to save for it.

:yay: for a new ticker!

Thanks, Beth! I had one student tonight say (in a very loud voice), "Mrs. H... did you dye your hair red???"

His mom said, "And it looks VERY nice, Mrs. H. Right, Andrew?"

She said it three times before he caught on. :rotfl:

I told him I didn't dye it, my hairdresser did, and that it was actually purple and the class said,

"COOL!" :cool2: (:rotfl2:  :rotfl: )

I love kids! You are now the cool, purple-haired piano teacher. I wish you were closer. Miles should have started lessons a couple of years ago.

Hi from North Carolina!

Went house hunting this weekend. Also went to the school district admin building to get all the info on the schools & special programs for Daniel. I was very content with what they told us. We found a couple of homes that fit our bill. We took the kids to play mini golf this afternoon so they could have a break from being dragged from house to house & sitting in the car most of the day. We took Katie to the HS we are looking at for her & she was thrilled at the acting & dance classes that they offer. I think that made things feel better for her. She is sitting her writing little notes on the school in her notebook.

:flower3: to everyone!!!

I'm glad that Katie is feeling better about the move (for now at least) and that the rest of you are also having a good time!

This deal isn't that great for a value resort. It wouldn't have been as great if I hadn't been able to change my January flights to do the 7 nights. We are arriving late (7:30pm at MCO) but I would have stayed at Logan if we kept the early flight the next day and now we can be at the parks at opening that day. I couldn't get the 7 for 4 deal at AKL CL which wasn't so bad as Lizzy didn't want to stay there anyways. I have already decided that because I am not likely to do a family trip I might as well do the trips I am doing in style. By booking Poly GV room I saved $1,198 over rack rate, $779 over AAA and $442 over AP. Plus I get the $200 gift card for that stay and unlike the birthday gift card this one can be used on food. I "ignored" the fact that I had to buy park passes because I know I will use them in the future.

For my May trip with Joe at AKL CL I saved $1,367 over rack, $888 over AAA, and $611 if AP is similar to Jan's. I called a few weeks ago and I couldn't get AAA so I was so surprised I could book this deal. I don't think I could have ever gotten AP on this room so I'm very happy with this deal even though I'm not getting the $200 gift card on this one. I will get the birthday card.;)

Lizzy is SOOOOOOO excited to be going back to the Poly! We haven't been since 2005. I am pretty excited too. I had toyed with the idea of booking Lagoon View but I just couldn't justify the extra $$$$.

That sounds like a great savings for you! We spent our honeymoon at the Poly (over 20 years ago), and I would love to go back someday.

Today I received my first e-mail with PIN offer. It's kids (3-9) stay, play, and dine free April 19-June 27. My only "kid" will be 10 less than a month after this starts, so it definitely isn't much of a deal for us. Plus the kids don't have any time off of school during those dates.

Good evening,

Cute pics everyone, I read some but don't think I can sstay wake long enought to actually catch up.

I'm gonna try and update the TR, but my eyelids are getting heavy.

I hope you are having a wonderful time!

OK, I am asking for major good thoughts and PD for Kathrin on Thursday. She sent in a writing sample to The Princeton Review after her initial interview last week. They received it this morning and by this afternoon at 2:00 they had set up a full day of follow-up interviews with everyone from the HR person to the management in the Boston office to her potential boss and the rest of the staff.

This sounds very promising to me but I toned down my exuberance when I talked to her on the phone. She is excited enough as it is.

Anyway... start sending PD about 10:00 a.m. on 11/13 (one month to the day since she was let go...).

Definitely! This sounds very promising!

Thanks everyone, I am so excited to finally have a date that we are going back. :cheer2:
I told John I didn't care where we stayed as long as I was in Disney. :thumbsup2
Then we started looking at the pictures of the Contemporary posted here on the resorts thread, and John is like that's it we are staying at the Contemporary. :goodvibes

The Contemporary holds a special place in my heart. :lovestruc

i got my luggage! They called at 1030 and said it would be here by 1am and asked if i was staying up--NO!! I told them I had authorized them to leave the suitcase and asked if they needed directions...
Next thing i know, they are calling me at 1am becasue they are lost--it was so frustrating but at least i have my luggage...now its 8pm and i am aboslutely exhausted!

Yay for luggage!!

That sounds like a very productive trip! :thumbsup2

This GS stuff is going to push me over the edge. I got a phone call from a dad of girl that attends the school we used to meet. He wanted information on our Brownie troop so his daughter can join. We aren't technically a troop yet and I have parents calling us. :headache: I had to politely tell him that until we are official there isn't much I can do at this point. I think he thought I was a total idiot as I bumbled my way through the call.

Not to mention I told the girl at council that I wanted our troop closed. We didn't want any new members. I felt bad because I am not going to be the official leader for the troop. Since there are only 5 of us we are all taking the training and being certified as leaders. I can't make that decision by myself.

I also want to know who gave out my number. I'm pretty sure I know who it was but want to know for certain before she gets a piece of my mind.

What a mess. It's harder than anything I've done trying to get someone to call me back from the council to get things rolling. :sad2:

I would be highly irked if somebody gave out my number! I would just keep calling and let them know they are really making this process more difficult than it should be. If you get voice mail I would call every few minutes and hang up if you don't get a live person. I was trying to reach someone at Coke about a sponsorship one year and I must have called that woman 80 times in a single day. She did finally answer the phone. :rolleyes1

Hope you get the science fair stuff figured out Elizabeth!

Nope. Haven't yet! :rotfl2:

Oh lucky you, not!

Yeah. Thanks.

Good evening,

I'm gonna try and update the TR, but my eyelids are getting heavy.

Hi, Debbie! :yay:

Elizabeth, our dates are the 13-18.

Phooey. We will miss you guys because we are definitely going earlier in the month.

OK, I am asking for major good thoughts and PD for Kathrin on Thursday. She sent in a writing sample to The Princeton Review after her initial interview last week. I hope it goes well!! :wizard:

Bernadette - DH has every single thing on that list except the printer. I don't know if that is funny or scary. Our laptop is a Toshiba, not a Mac. And of course his cameras are Oly & Sony so he has books for those. I will have to tell him you got a Nikon.
You really did get an awesome deal on your 2 trips! The 7 night thing combined with airfare just made it impossible for us to work it out.

We had torrential rains all night. I'm not sure what that did to the temperature.

Princess has cooking today. Yay. :rolleyes1

WOW! The cheapest I've seen around here is $2.02.

Unlike everyone else I have a huge list that I'm sure Elizabeth has heard a lot of:
new bag for camera/cases for lenses
new Gorilla pod for dSLR/Zoom
new tripod with better head and strong enough for heavier camera
lens pen for cleaning the lenses
book on Nikon D90
book-Understanding Exposure
remote control for camera
notebook PC (I'd prefer Mac) for downloading photos
portable printer so I could send postcards of prints from camera

and the only thing I really expect to get:
new Walt Disney Treasures DVD-Donald Vol. 4

Our gas is still $2.55.

That list sounds good to me. :thumbsup2 I did finally tell dh the reason that I wasn't using my Gorilla pod that he bought me a couple of years ago is that it is too small for my newer camera. I also want a new tripod, but he thinks that my 25 year old one that isn't working right anymore is good enough, because I never use a tripod (maybe that's because it doesn't really work?). I love the Nikon lens cleaning pen that was in my stocking last year! I guess there are a few things I want afterall...

So I really want dinner at the California Grill and John has agreed. But! and its a big but, if John has to get all decked out we won't be eating there.

So what is the dress code? Suite and tie for the men, dress for the ladies.
Or a little more casual... say dockers and a polo for the men and slacks and blouse for the ladies?

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Is this the thing you were talking about the other day, that she couldn't open?

Yes!!!

When we finally talked "face-to-face" on the phone later on Saturday she said she didn't understand why I kept asking her to find out the file extension. It had a file extension but it wasn't coming through when she forwarded it to me. All I got was "Fall." She said, it is some stupid Word document I can't open... .docx

My exact words were: #@%&*@ %^&@#$!$%&* #$%@* (or something like that!). If she had told me that on TUESDAY I could have told her it was in Word 2007 and all she needed was a converter for her Word 2003 that she could download from the Microsoft site! :headache:

I opened it and sent it to her within 30 seconds... the writing sample went off within a couple of hours.

Very nice sentiments. I agree. We owe all of our freedoms to our Veterans

I hope that this takes care of Hunter's headaches. My eyes changed so quickly in middle and high schools that I was on a 6 month schedule at one point. Thankfully, they finally stopped. Laura really needs to go to the eye doctor, but we won't have coverage for her until January, so we're trying to hold out. She doesn't want to go, but I can tell she's having some problems with distance vision.

Can you make an appointment now for after the insurance kicks in. Our pediatric specialist always has a couple month wait to get in. He is very good though.

Yes, we have the appointment made, because sometimes there is a wait to get in.

I was checking the USPS site again last night in hopes that a Holiday Casual position would open up. Our main post office usually hires several people to work during the holiday season to help with the increased mail. Nothing had been posted so I almost gave up hope. Anyway the position was posted yesterday. It is an overnight shift so it will have a shift differential as well as very good part time pay. 30 hours per week. I filled out the application and submitted it around midnight last night. I could use all the pixie dust you can spare that I get this job. It's only a 5 or 6 week postition, but it will go a very long way to paying off that new furnace and putting a little money back in our savings. I HATE not having some sort of savings to fall back on. :wizard:
