OK, I am asking for major good thoughts and PD for Kathrin on Thursday. She sent in a writing sample to The Princeton Review after her initial interview last week. They received it this morning and by this afternoon at 2:00 they had set up a full day of follow-up interviews with everyone from the HR person to the management in the Boston office to her potential boss and the rest of the staff.

This sounds very promising to me but I toned down my exuberance when I talked to her on the phone. She is excited enough as it is.

Anyway... start sending PD about 10:00 a.m. on 11/13 (one month to the day since she was let go...).

That is DH's bday, and even th9ugh it's the 13th, he says it's a lucky day. :wizard:

Sounds like a very productive weekend, Anne Marie. I am so glad to hear that! :grouphug:

Ditto!

She has it!!:wizard: :wizard: Some for you too. :wizard:

Hi from North Carolina!

Went house hunting this weekend. Also went to the school district admin building to get all the info on the schools & special programs for Daniel. I was very content with what they told us. We found a couple of homes that fit our bill. We took the kids to play mini golf this afternoon so they could have a break from being dragged from house to house & sitting in the car most of the day. We took Katie to the HS we are looking at for her & she was thrilled at the acting & dance classes that they offer. I think that made things feel better for her. She is sitting her writing little notes on the school in her notebook.

:flower3: to everyone!!!

I'm so happy for you all Anne Marie, sounds like everything is going smoothly!

Thanks everyone, I am so excited to finally have a date that we are going back. :cheer2:
I told John I didn't care where we stayed as long as I was in Disney. :thumbsup2
Then we started looking at the pictures of the Contemporary posted here on the resorts thread, and John is like that's it we are staying at the Contemporary. :goodvibes

Lizzy is SOOOOOOO excited to be going back to the Poly! We haven't been since 2005. I am pretty excited too. I had toyed with the idea of booking Lagoon View but I just couldn't justify the extra $$$$.

I would be too! I hope to stay here again sometime.

i got my luggage! They called at 1030 and said it would be here by 1am and asked if i was staying up--NO!! I told them I had authorized them to leave the suitcase and asked if they needed directions...
Next thing i know, they are calling me at 1am becasue they are lost--it was so frustrating but at least i have my luggage...now its 8pm and i am aboslutely exhausted!

Yikes on the call but yeah for the luggage!!

you've got em!!

This GS stuff is going to push me over the edge. I got a phone call from a dad of girl that attends the school we used to meet. He wanted information on our Brownie troop so his daughter can join. We aren't technically a troop yet and I have parents calling us. :headache: I had to politely tell him that until we are official there isn't much I can do at this point. I think he thought I was a total idiot as I bumbled my way through the call.

Sorry this is being more difficult than need be for you. Hope everything works out soon :wizard:

Good evening,

Cute pics everyone, I read some but don't think I can sstay wake long enought to actually catch up.

I'm gonna try and update the TR, but my eyelids are getting heavy.

Hi Debbie!

:teeth: You're welcome! I agree... even if it was just a month early, we expected to see something. Instead, they're doing better than we ever would have even thought to hope for with growth, milestones, etc! :lovestruc
They are so amazing and so darn cute. LOVE your new signature and all the pics you shared.

14,000 posts
Congrats!

16 years ago today I got married.
Congratulations!

Princess has been very naughty this week. This morning Momboss told me not to let her watch TV if she is naughty. OK, no problem.

She just got up from her nap and on top of being naughty earlier she said "Give me water!" in a really rude, nasty tone. No TV for her!

She just spent the last few minutes arranging her toys (Elmo, Bunnie, Mickey, etc.) on the couch. Then she said "I want to watch my show." I said "Have you been good today?" She stood there for a good long minute, then she said "THEY have been good today (gesture towards the toys), but I haven't. They want to watch my show." This child. :sad2: She is scary smart.

I told her "Well, you will have to explain to them that since you have been naughty today that we are not going to watch your show."
WOW! Very smart!

Well, we just got back from dinner. We took the kids out to celebrate Jacob's birthday tomorrow.
Belated Birthday wished for Jacob.:bday:

I've got to check those out.

Kohl's stock went up today because Becky & I spent a pretty penny there today.
Me too!!!! I had a 30% off coupon. I got Lizzy some pants as she's getting so tall. Got Joe sox & undershirts and lots of Christmas gifts. One of Lizzy pants didn't fit and the weather station I got my MIL required internet connnection so I went back today and got a simpler weather station, dress shoes for Joe & Lizzy and long underwear for Joe.

Hello from OKW

We had a horrible drive yesterday, for almost two hours we were in a torrential downpour, I was petrified.
Hope you have a great trip! :wizard: Hope for a dry, less stressful ride home!

OK... self portraits are never easy or pretty. But this is the hair. I actually think it is wine-ier than it appears here.

ETA: I suppose I could have brushed it before taking pictures! :rotfl2:
I like it! I agree with the kids who say its cool!!!!

I still have the fall decorations out, and am not ready to take them down yet.

I should have done the outside decorations last week when it was in the 70's!
What fun would that be? I always seem to wait for the coldest windiest days possible. It wouldn't be Christmas without a few frostbitten digits would it?:rotfl:
What are fall decorations? I never put the pictures back on my mantel after Christmas last year. We still had the Christmas lights up on the porch still so we turned them on for Halloween.

I am trying to figure out our meals now, this trip will be just Gary & I. I talked him into taking a trip to Disney alone with me, I can't believe it :faint: I got him with the $200 gift card, told him he could use it to drink around Epcot :rotfl:

Seriously though I am very excited, I did not think he would ever do this. I look forward this trip very much :dance3:
You guys are sure to have a wonderful trip!!!! Have you considered California Grill?

Don't worry about May. I'm sure I can add you at anytime if you want to join us.

It was a decent night at work for a change :cool1:
:woohoo:

I liked Mamma Mia...but it is amazing how much personal circumstances skew your viewing of anything. Winner Takes it All had me blubbering (well as much as I can with Cassidy next to me).

In the end we got 2 hats with "Frito Bean Dip" logos, a Frito Lay pullover sweatshirt (which is nice), 2 baseballs (one autographed, one commemorative), and a really cool Starbucks thermos and mug set in a little zippered case. Oh, and 2 bags of chips, and a photo of DH and me.
Sounds like some fun stuff!

My eyes are itching me like crazy. I'm so sick of my allergies acting up. This is my second round of antibiotics. NIte all.
:wizard: Hope you can find some relief!

I am having a terrible time sleeping lately.
Hope you find some resolutions!

Our gas is $1.76/gal :rolleyes1 :duck:
WOW! The cheapest I've seen around here is $2.02.

Okay I have no energy today. My allergies really kicked my but yesterday.
:wizard: Hope you can find relief!

Good morning/afternoon, DDA. So my question of the day since Jennifer mentioned it and I'm struggling with it too...

What are some of the top things on your wish list?
Unlike everyone else I have a huge list that I'm sure Elizabeth has heard a lot of:
new bag for camera/cases for lenses
new Gorilla pod for dSLR/Zoom
new tripod with better head and strong enough for heavier camera
lens pen for cleaning the lenses
book on Nikon D90
book-Understanding Exposure
remote control for camera
notebook PC (I'd prefer Mac) for downloading photos
portable printer so I could send postcards of prints from camera

and the only thing I really expect to get:
new Walt Disney Treasures DVD-Donald Vol. 4

I can't remember...but, is anyone familiar with these little Flip camcorders? I am thinking of getting 1 for Jackie for christmas
My SIL has one. She lets Joe & Lizzy play with it. I can not believe how good the quality looks. They have had so much fun with it but she let them take it home last night and today we can't get it to work.:confused3

Here are some pics from the shower, it was so odd having everything blue!!!
Looks like a great time!

Well I am home..I had a great trip and do not want to be home at all! The airline also lost my luggage-ugh! of coruse, my teacher manuals are in there...figures!

but im home and tired so i tihnk its time for bed
Glad you got your luggage back but sorry for rude awakening!

As promised... a few photos from yesterday's festivities.
It was not supposed to get out of the 50s yesterday so we were all layered up and looking like little kids going out to play in a snowstorm :rotfl2: And then there is the requisite festive headgear ;) :

IMG_1597.jpg
Love the headgear!

here to...seems like winter is definitely here to stay
My friend from work is in Chicago at a conference. She likes cold so she should be happy!

Dance class
Danceclass-ballet.jpg
Great photos! Love the pumpkin. Most pics Terra is looking so big but she still looks like a little girl and so cute in that photos!

Well, I think I'm going to give up on my daughter waking up soon and just run to get my cup of coffee. She'll wake someone up if she needs them. After that, she has dance this morning and then we're going to rearrange the playroom. The kitchen we picked up last week is still in my trunk as there isn't room for it until we clean up and out some. Hopefully I can use the kitchen and her Christmas wish list to convince her get rid of a few things.
Have you seen the patterns on www.youcanmakethis.com ? They have a free pattern for a chef hat. They have patterns for a price for felt food but someone on the boutique thread made some great stuff without patterns.

I think they will be fine with it. Disappointed, yes, but they will adapt to the idea, especially knowing that they are going in August. I feel strongly that kids need to learn how to deal with disappointment, and know that there are things that don't or can't have. Even in one's own family. One child may not get what the other child gets, and vice versa. I try to make mine focus on what THEY GET, not what OTHERS get. And having Mom and Dad go to WDW ONE TIME without them, in the grand scheme of life, isn't that bad. Like in Bernadette's family, where she takes one child. I'm sure it's hard for the others to say goodbye but they know their time will come. I think that is wonderful. I'm hoping to be able to do that someday. So I think this is good for your boys, Janet, as well as good for you and Gary. :thumbsup2
:thumbsup2 My kids now understand that they will get their turn. Even Emma who knows she won't be going in 2009 (but I don't know that really understands that we aren't going on our family trip) understands that it "isn't her turn". Those trips really are special. Someday I hope my DH will let me take all 3 alone because I want the kids to continue to have shared Diseny memories. Maybe he'll miss Disney if we go somewhere else.:rotfl2:

I have some calls to make to the GS council. It's becoming a not so favorite activity of mine. :headache: No one there likes to return phone calls therefore making it impossible to get anything done.
So sorry! Hope you can get it straightened out soon!:wizard:

Randy will be at a printing company today with some people from his company, as well as auditors from two firms, lawyers etc. as they print and edit their 192-page document. And he could possibly be there all night in to tomorrow. He said these places that print these kinds of projects have beds, showers, pool tables etc. so that you have something to do inbetween edits/printing. He was originally hired to work for the spin-off of his company, but has been asked to work for corporate now. That's a great thing for him. It would mean more job security (if the spin-off doesn't work out) and it's boosted his ego. Not sure about money yet -- they haven't talked details, but it would be no less, so I'm happy for him and very thankful he is employed!
:woohoo: Congrats to Randy!

So Emma's birthday party is this Friday. Her and I decided on the sleepover. We've invited 7 friends and I know that 2 will be here only for the party. 2 of the other moms are staying with me to help out and one will probably spend the night as her DD isn't comfortable leaving mom home (the friend from scouts whose dad was in Iraq).

She decided on Tinker Bell for the theme. I found at AC Moore a pack of 8 pillowcases that the girls can color, that will be their favor. I found some green sparkly nail polish and Tinker Bell decals so we'll do their nails too. I also plan on making fairy cakes and then once every is in their pj's we'll watch the new movie.

Eric will be spending the night at his parents. And my mom and aunt have offered to keep Mo and Lucy for the night.
That sounds wonderful!

Hunter's appointment is over. He ended up coming home with me as his eyes were still very dialated and he couldn't read anyway. The doctor found a significant change in his eyes. Hopefully that explains the headaches. We are moving him back to yearly appointments instead of every 2 years in hopes of catching changes sooner. After the appointment we went and ordered a new pair of glasses. We also left one of his old pair that are still in great shape and we will have the lenses changed in those. The doctor said that his current glasses cannot even be used as a backup pair because of the significant changes. I really hope that once the new glasses arrive he will be headache free :wizard:
I'm sure new glasses will help!:wizard:

Fly-by picture post.... gotta feed girls and get to the grocery store :)

SOOOOOOO cute!!!! Was Matty laughing?

Got a new ticker.

We debated between Jan. or Dec. 2009
Dec. won out as we would be able to stay POFQ, if we went in Jan. we would have to stay Pop and John was not happy about that. Also we love all the decorations and the Christmas party. But the biggest reason for Dec. is John is determined to stay Contemporary once, so we have longer to save for it.
:woohoo: Congrats!
