DDA Chapter 13

Julio's on Saturday at 12:30. It's a date! This is going to be such a fun weekend!

I just got an e-mail back from DS's language arts teacher. She said he didn't turn in his 6 weeks test until after the grades had been turned in so he got a score of 50! :scared1: NO WONDER his grade for the marking period took a nose dive of nearly 10%. He is so lucky he is in bed right now. He would have had an "A" for the marking period if he had just turned the test in ON TIME. She said when she asked him why he didn't turn it in on time he said he forgot. Great. :sad2:

Oh, that stinks. This is the first year Emma gets "real" grades. I am excited yet very nervous.

Robyn - Good thoughts for Uncle Buck.
The nannies who end up staying home with their kids are usually not very happy because they don't have money to go do anything. When your family loses one income it isn't like you can go traipsing around with the kids like you could with your charges.
My friend went to the Fair last week and her boss paid the $25 valet parking fee. The bosses pay the nanny's admission into the zoo, museums, whatever places we take our charges. It is expensive to do all that stuff! If DS is with me I don't ask to be reimbursed for parking, and I always pay 100% of DS's expenses. Things that I do just with Princess I charge to my bosses. I like to have time off but I think after a few weeks of no money and being stuck in the house because of no money I would be ready to work some more! :rotfl2:

Thanks, I would love it if someone paid my way!

Robyn-I am glad that your Uncle is holding his own...I have volunteers who are slowly breaking down body wise and one who is mentally breaking down...I think I would rather the body.

So I just checked the scores....unless a LOT more bands in the last 3 regions score lower this Saturday will be the end of band season. :guilty:

Thanks, me too.

I am sorry about the band. :sad1: :sad1:

We had a very nice day.

Bob and Bethany came over and after breakfast we were off and running. First we took both of my kids for haircuts, then off to the mall. Alyssa got a few new outfits and I got my eyebrows done. They were slowly turning into a unibrow. I got some things returned/exchanged and then we stopped for a game of putt-putt. Bob sucks at putt-putt.

Which makes me looks REALLY good!
He took us all out to dinner at Smokey Bones. Alyssa had ballet tonight and Nicholas' football practices have been changed from Tues/Thurs to Mon/Thurs. I felt so much better today, until I spent 2 hours out in the damp, cool air at football. Now I'm coughing again. It was nice to get out of the house for awhile.

:lmao:

Sounds like a productive day!

Hope you feel better.

I just sent emails to all of Nick's teachers telling them that he will be on vacation next week. Hopefully he will get his makeup work in advance. The other boys only have the one teacher to deal with and they already know. Actually Nick has told most of his teachers, but they needed to hear it from me. I told his advisor 2 weeks ago :confused3

That's great you can take your kids out & they will give you make up work .i think you should be able to take them out a few days each year for family trips.:thumbsup2

They do not allow that here...if we took the kids out of school for a vacation they have a fit at school. I wonder what the rules are about that in NC?:rolleyes1 :)

Good morning!

I am going to lunch with my girlfriends today. We have been trying to get together more often before the move.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!

DH made sure to start griping at DS about that test as soon as DS's feet hit the floor this morning. I wish DH was working today. That test grade can't be fixed, the report card grade won't change, DS feels bad. DH harping on him at 6:30 AM doesn't help anything! And we are going to be together the WHOLE day. It was very thoughful of DH to make sure DS is in a huge snarling snit right off the bat. :headache:

I don't know what happened. Obviously DS wasn't paying attention, he stuck the test in his binder and everybody else turned their tests in. Next thing he knows everybody else gets their tests back with a grade and his test is still in his binder. Doh!

I hope everybody has a great day! :wizard:

That stinks.

Katie & Daniel have a habit of doing that too.:sad2:

Good morning, DDA!

I am running late, so I'll just  as I pass through. I hope to have some time between work and the cross country meet to catch back up a little.

morning....

this weekend we had 80 degree weather...now we are back to the 60's. It was nice while it lasted. 1/2 day for the kids today....and then off for flu shots & eye doctor. So far only mild complaining. I am making Bill come with to share in the fun!

Sounds like fun. Have a great time!

Elin - where did you book your carriage ride? I made our reservation at FtW but all they had was 8PM. I was hoping for something earlier, since our Park Fare ADR is 4:30. Plus I want to get to get the kids to bed at a decent hour. I'll keep checking to see if something earlier opens.

Tammi usually the campfire program with chip and dale starts before 8. Since it will be getting dark pretty early by then I bet you'd have time to hit the campfire sing a long, maybe roast a marshmellow or two then head over for the carriage ride. The movies are always Disney movies that we've seen, but we love to hit the campfire program

I hope Uncle Buck is doing better. Both my boys have soccer games at 10:30 on Saturday. I should be able to join you guys around 12:45. Just let me know if that means Arboretum or somewhere to eat. I can't wait to meet you in person!

I'm glad she's already home. PD for her!

I'm glad you got everything re-arranged. It sounds like a terrific trip.

It sounds like the visit went well. I hope you get good news soon. The pics of the kids in your sig are so cute!

Tammi -- I hope you are feeling better!

Sounds like a terrific trip!

Congrats!

I'm hoping you are feeling much better!

Ditto -- I hope you are feeling better too. WTG Kevin on helping out today!

Yes -- I do have some codes. When is DS's birthday? What I have are only good through 12/18.

I hope she is feeling better!

I'm glad you found a couple of houses. Sorry about the ticket.

Yes -- I'd love to meet you!

No -- I pm'd her a week ago and haven't heard back.

Sorry I haven't been around. Life has been busier than usual. I did manage to beg a plumber to fix our problem on Friday, and it was only $125. We had a great time with our friends this weekend, and the UT/OU game was terrific!

We cooked out that night and it went well too. Yesterday we spent at the Fair with my family, then picking up Andrew and Jake's friends. Today I went back to the Fair. I'm exhausted! I need to get off of here to get packed, as I have a conference in Ft. Worth and that is too far to drive three days, with meetings early and until later at night.

I'm glad the shower is fixed and that you had a good time with your friends. I hope that your trip is safe and maybe a little relaxing too :wizard:

Good luck with the flu shots and eye doctor. It is so nice of you to allow Bill to share in all the fun :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've got to say that I'm not feeling great this morning. I think things are finally moving so maybe the end is in site. I've got my fingers crossed. I plan to take it easy today. No work tonight so my goal is to completely clean Colby's room and make sure that the other boys have kept theirs up. I've only got 3 1/2 days left to get everything done :goodvibes

So when are we planning the DDA October 2009 trip???

I really like that first full week in October. October 4th through whatever. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

What about all of you???:cloud9:

Thanks, Deb. That's a good idea. But isn't it kinda far from where the campfire is to where we get the carriage?
