Glad to hear she is home and doing good.

She didn't make it home until today. I was there with Chuck when she got home. She has oxygen tanks to use as needed. She wasn't using them much while I was there. She looked great. I don't know all the particulars yet but she is home under her own power at this time.

Congrats to your cousin. New babies are awesome. :goodvibes

So i just realized that i am not sure if i told you about my cousin yesterday! My cousin (one of the ones in colorado) had a baby boy yesterday!! Connor James is the newest addition to our family--cannot wait to meet him in 3 weeks!!

No, it does not. When I booked our package at WL for free dining in 2007 the ticket was a one day base ticket - no hopping. Maybe they are confused about the water parks thing? If you have a base ticket with water parks you MUST upgrade to the AP with water parks. Hopping on the base ticket doesn't matter.

Thanks for the clarification, Elizabeth. And your answer is perfect for Bob and me for next year. Our bounceback includes a 1-day base ticket so we will not renew our APs this year. If we wait until next October to do so (using that base ticket as a start) we will get 3 uses out of the AP. If we renew them this month we would only get 2 uses over the next calendar year. And I can get us 4 tickets for the December trip for less than the cost of the 2 AP renewals! :thumbsup2

Elin - When Kristine, Kate and I did the Segway, we booked the earliest tour, so when you are finishing up it is still early enough for the crowds not to be getting heavy. Therefore, no crashing worries. But in December you may not have that to consider. We went in May.

We have a 1:35 ADR at Le Cellier on 12/22 that I have not been able to change. Gee, I wonder why??? I offered ESPN for lunch one day as a replacement (Bob loves that place and I have never been) but he LOVES Le Cellier. So I have to keep that ADR for now. If we do the 7:45 tour I know it could be very chilly and we would be done 10:00. I suppose we could spend the day at Epcot (that was our plan) but I am betting he will be cold and want to go back to the room. That would mean he would have to come back over to Epcot for lunch and that just makes no sense.

I could book it for 12/23 but that was our day for AK and HS. So, you see my problem...

More thinking on this as I get ready for brunch. Enjoy your mornings, everyone! :goodvibes

so what does everyone have planned for today? all i have going on is football!
I have staff development all day tomrorow and then the kids on tuesday--i love weekends!

Last night, my brother's girlfriend and I ended up watching sex in the city and just sat with wine and crackers---it was an awesome night!

Hmm. I don't like driving all that much. But it has to be better than the drive from TX to KS, so that's a point in your favor! :rotfl2:

I'd be your tour guide so I'd do all the driving. You'd just have to ride in the car. There are people that freak out a little by all the "nature" we have in the U.P. They are used to having buildings. We can drive for 20 miles without seeing a house or a structure of any kind.

Jennifer congratulations to your cousin!

Tammi I hope the meds quick in quickly for you :wizard:

Deb I hope you can see the Dr. tomorrow, you need to be healthy for your trip!

Elin I see your question has already been answered :thumbsup2 I used my 1 day base ticket last year to buy my AP. Mine expires on the 18th of this month & I will not be renewing right now. I am hoping to use my last 1 day base ticket to get another one in Dec., but that depends on how much money I have as well. If I get one then, I know I will get at least 3 trips out of it.

Becky, Chanon & I leave Disney on the 8th.

I always thought you could, as long as it hadn't been used yet. You just the difference, AP price minus the base ticket price. Are they saying that you can't?

We had a 4 or 5 day base ticket that we converted to an AP. You have to do it in a certain amount of time from first use. However, you can't do it at the resort or a regular ticket window. You have to do it at either the Park or DTD Guest Relations.

Great! Now see how easy that was to get an accurate answer? ;)

That is a little freaky. When I was little we used to drive to Kansas from whatever state we lived in. That was NOT FUN. But I can remember driving along stretches of highway where there was NOTHING for miles and miles. Of course it might not be that way now, but it was back in the '70s. We have only driven to KS with DS in the car once, and by the time we hit Oklahoma City he had pretty much had enough. That's only 3 hours from here. The total drive is about 9 hours. I REALLY prefer to fly places.

I just told Chuck that his mom has been in the DDA prayers. He said "My Mom? What about me? Having to run interference between my brother and sister!"

OK, then. Good thoughts for Chuck! :wizard:

O then you know what ,he deserves some too ! haha

Just talked to Chanon & her & Bob where on the monorail headed to Epcot. Sounds like they are having a wonderful time! Chanon uploaded some pictures from her camera:

Tell Chuck that we'll pray for him too :rotfl:

I decided that I felt bad enough to go to an Immediate Care Center this morning. I am now home with a Z pack, albutural and Tussinex. The doctor said that I have developed a wheeze and that he can hear crap in my lungs, but it has not developed into pneumonia :thumbsup2 I've taken the first dose of the Z pack, now I'm using the inhaler and heading to bed for a while. I have plenty to do this afternoon, but I need rest now. The doctor said that it won't go away overnight, but I should be feeling much better by our flight on Saturday:worship: I certainly hope so.

Deb - Glad you got some meds! :thumbsup2

Well, DS is home safe and sound. He had a good time.

Apparently when I talk with parents I need to ask not only if they will be home during the party, but I need to ask if the kids will be allowed to leave the house without an adult. The 4 boys walked to Dollar Tree last night between 7-8 PM. DS and one of the others crossed the street, and the other 2 boys were still on the opposite side. Some guy in a MASK drove up next to them and went "BLAH!" I asked DS what he would have done if that guy had grabbed him and shoved him in the car? His friends would have been so shocked they wouldn't have been able to do ANYTHING, and by the time they actually got their wits about them and told an adult (or called 911 on their cell phones or whatever) that car would have been LONG gone. DS had his phone, but an abductor is not going to let him use it to call for help! :scared1: The time that would have been lost going back to the friend's house and the friend's parents calling me would have been significant.
I know, I'm a helicopter mom. And there is NO WAY, I mean NO WAY I would let kids WALK in that area when it is getting dark. In the middle of the afternoon, eh, probably not. If they insisted on walking I would have walked with them. I guess it is partly because I have been responsible for other people's kids for the past 15 years. It really is a huge liability. You HAVE to keep the kids safe, and that means no unnecessary risks. Obviously other parents are going to have different comfort levels with letting their kids run around unsupervised.

I told DS I am not comfortable with the fact that he walked from the house to Dollar Tree. He's not in trouble, I just told him it could have been a really bad situation if the guy in the car had tried to grab one of them.

Glad you went & got some medicine Deb, :wizard: for a speedy recovery!

Elizabeth...

for some reason the thing to do at this age is to go out "wandering" It absolutely irritates me to no end!! I personally feel that nothing good comes out of it.

I have seen Jackie & her friends all with their perky little b00bs...and I am terribly fearful of exactly what you said...no one of them would be equipped to handle an emergency!!

I don't allow it when I am in charge.....but almost all the other parents do.

Well, there's lots to see in the U.P. It just isn't man-made structures. It is trees, plants, animals, more trees, more plants, more animals ... I have seen eagles, deer, one wolf (very rare - I feel blessed - he was beautiful), fox, turkey, more deer, geese, ducks, raccoons, skunks, more deer, porcupines - just to name a few.

ETA: I forgot to mention the beautiful sunrises and sunsets, the beautiful night sky full of stars (that is what Becky is missing down at Ferris), waterfalls, rivers, and lakes.

Elizabeth glad ds had a good time. That's a little weird about the guy in the mask. You just never know about people anymore :sad2:

Vicki I would be more than happy to let you drive me around to see all of the scenery!
