DDA Chapter 13

I also made a trip to Urgent Care today to get a Z pack. I'm too worn out to try to let this sinus infection go away without help.

Matty had another poop incident today at naptime. Luckily he had thrown out most of his stuffed friends before he pooped...the diaper also came off before he pooped, because it was in pristine condition. Have I mentioned he's on an antibiotic for his ear infection/pink eye? Gross!!!!

It's an absolutely gorgeous 80 degree day, but I haven't enjoyed it much.

And that's my pity party. ;)

P.S. At least we have leftover cake from the soccer celebration. :teeth:

P.P.S Phooey! I missed my post 4567.

other than the cake, it sounds like a poopy kind of day for you, Amy. I am sorry you still don't feel better. I am hoping that maybe tomorrow will still be gorgeous and you will feel well enough to enjoy it.

I have been reading menus on AllEars all day and was reminded how much I love the Butternut Squask Soup at Wolfgang Puck's Express in the Marketplace. I remembered that our grocery store sells it in the organic aisle! So I am having a bowl of that along with a piece of pesto garlic bread for dinner. There is a dee-licious pumpkin ale that is going down quite nicely with it too. It is Southern Tier Pumking, in case anyone is interested!

I'll call to get an appointment in the morning. I actually called this morning, but they are closed which I expected :sad2:

I have no nasal congestion either, really my nose has run at all :confused3 It's all in my chest. I agree with it being worse in the morning, but it's pretty bad in the evening too, probably because I'm out in the night air heading home from work. The extreme coughing is exhausting. Thankfully the really bad coughing is only in the morning and evenings.

that sounds like bronchitis

Elin - I have never tried the pumpkin soup at Puck's. I love the butternut squash soup at AKL. I noticed the soup at Mara seems thicker and more flavorful than at Boma - kind of odd.
Ou Whole Foods has a butternut squash crab bisque that is just incredible. Soooo yummy. I love pumpkin and squash flavored things! :goodvibes

I just told Chuck that his mom has been in the DDA prayers. He said "My Mom? What about me? Having to run interference between my brother and sister!"

tell him of course he was in our prayers.

Marci - When you guys go to Great Wolf do you usually have a discount code? I am looking at that for DS's birthday. I signed up for their e-mails, but is there another way to get codes? AAA or Sam's Club travel or anything that you know of? THANKS! :thumbsup2

Tell Chuck that we'll pray for him too :rotfl:

I decided that I felt bad enough to go to an Immediate Care Center this morning. I am now home with a Z pack, albutural and Tussinex. The doctor said that I have developed a wheeze and that he can hear crap in my lungs, but it has not developed into pneumonia :thumbsup2 I've taken the first dose of the Z pack, now I'm using the inhaler and heading to bed for a while. I have plenty to do this afternoon, but I need rest now. The doctor said that it won't go away overnight, but I should be feeling much better by our flight on Saturday:worship: I certainly hope so.

I am glad you went in today!

:wizard: :wizard: that you are close to 100% by Saturday!!

yicky!!

I hope you feel better soon also!!

Tammi, Deb and Amy- Lots of :wizard: that the meds work quickly.

Amy- 2 words "Duct Tape"'s

Vicki- I am glad Chuck's mom is home. :wizard: for Chuck too!!

Elizabeth- Glad DS had lots of fun and I agree that the boys shouldn't have been left to themselves to go to the store.

Elin- Your brunch sounded delicious. I love the idea of the Segway tour for you and Bob.

Janet- Thanks for the link to Chanon's pics. Looks like a lovely time.:lovestruc

I'd be your tour guide so I'd do all the driving. You'd just have to ride in the car. There are people that freak out a little by all the "nature" we have in the U.P. They are used to having buildings. We can drive for 20 miles without seeing a house or a structure of any kind.

Sounds like the type of place I want to be. Away from everything.

One of these days I have to make a trip to the U.P of Michigan. What time of the year would you recommend a visit?

Sending :wizard: and  to Chuck and his whole family.

I hope everyone who is sick feels better soon.

Channon- those are good pictures. I wish they would switch the Toy Story show to the Magic. Or switch the long cruises to the Wonder for a period of time. How was that show?

I had a busy weekend and am tired. I spent yesterday shopping with other people for things they needed. Bar stools, curtains and A bunch of other stuff with my Mom and brother. I got home from that and my Aunt called. She wanted me to call along to Rockvale to the Big Dog Outlet. So I did that. I got home around 9pm.

I really need to work on my trip report but it never seems that I get to it.:upsidedow

Today I spent at a Walk event. We had a recruitment table for girls and leaders. I was there longer then I planned to be.

Before I post the pics from last night let me warn you they aren't very good. The invite said parents were to come at 5:30...well we got there at 5:32 and every other parent had already been done taking pictures for a long time so I felt odd and did some very quick pictures. (Plus these parents all make me uneasy for some reason...probably because they are all older than me...that and this was a show house...the young lady has her own bathroom, walk in closet..etc.)

Jen - you must be even hoarser than you were before the football game! This has been quite the day for last second game wins/losses and OTs!!

Right now is the most beautiful time of year here because of the colors. It is absolutely amazing. However, if you want to swim in Lake Michigan or Lake Superior, you want to be here at the end of July or beginning of August. The beaches are gorgeous so anytime during the summer is great.

Vicki - I can tell that you are in love with your state. Your pictures, both the ones we can look at and the ones you paint with words are beautiful.

Heckuva game, Jen. Sorry your boys lost, though. :(

I never really thought of it like that. I guess you are right. I have been to about 20 of the 50 states. As much as I enjoy the travels and have seen some beautiful sites, I guess the saying is true "There is no place like home." Most people who live here all their lives take it for granted. When I drive to Lansing, I spend at least 1/2 hour driving along Lake Michigan. It is a grand site. Crossing the Mackinaw Bridge is old hat for me but when people do it for the first time, I hear their stories of awe and amazement.

I've been thinking about it a lot lately. I was told a couple of weeks ago that there is a possibility of a promotion coming up very soon. They are wondering if I'll be applying for it. I've pretty much been told that I would probably get it if I apply. It would mean moving to Lansing. I don't think I can really consider it at this time because of Chuck's parents. However, I've been trying to determine whether I would want it if that wasn't in the way. We lived downstate for 6 years early in our marriage. We moved back because we missed the lifestyle and the grandeur that is the U.P. However, I had young kids that I wanted to grow up in a true community. Now that they are grown, there is not much except for the beauty that holds me. I don't really have any ties to the community other than my two best friends. I guess you can say I'm trying to find my way again. I've never really liked the Iron Mountain area other than for a good place for kids to grow up. There isn't much to do for adults (unless you have kids and kids activities).

Chuck made chili today. It is delicious. Today was more like a real fall day. Yesterday was beautiful. Perfect for being on the road. Today is perfect for just hanging out at home.

Are you home or at Chuck's Mother's house?

It kinda feels like it too. The doctor didn't put a name to it other than a touch of asthma :sad2: I'm glad that I went this morning as I have felt much worse today, my chest and back hurt from coughing so much. I'll take some Tussinex later as it will knock me out. I did take a 2 hour nap this afternoon, but it was a restless sleep :confused3 Chris helped me finish cleaning the camper and he got it winterized so that project is done. Then my Mother and I went to the SuperWalmart a few towns over. I was able to find some food items that are no longer carried at our local supermarket. I also found gas for $3.15/gal. I'm hoping that I only have to make one trip to the store this week as I couldn't find any cat box liners at Walmart. Otherwise I just need to finish packing.

Good luck finding your way
