DDA Chapter 13

Vicki I would be more than happy to let you drive me around to see all of the scenery!

I really do live in a beautiful place. Sometimes the isolation drives me crazy which is why I enjoy my trips to Lansing. They have been too frequent lately but going once a month is great. I get to the city and can do some shopping and when I come back home I appreciate it more.

So ive been checking on things for my dallas trip and I see tickets for our game, our section going for 400 dollars! SO glad i didnt have to pay that!!!

Elizabeth...

for some reason the thing to do at this age is to go out "wandering" It absolutely irritates me to no end!! I personally feel that nothing good comes out of it.

I have seen Jackie & her friends all with their perky little b00bs...and I am terribly fearful of exactly what you said...no one of them would be equipped to handle an emergency!!

I don't allow it when I am in charge.....but almost all the other parents do.

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks kids don't need to be out roaming. These are 12 year olds, not even teenagers. I would prefer that DS invite his friends here where I can keep an eye on them, but DS really isn't that fond of having friends over. I think it has something to do with him being an only child. He gets very nervous when other people touch his toys. I think he prefers to preserve his space just for himself.
DH isn't very happy about the little jaunt to the Dollar Tree either. I guess the approach we need to use now is to tell DS we realize these things are going to happen (that other kids' parents will allow things we would not) and he needs to be cautious when he does things with his friends that he KNOWS we would forbid. There's a slippery slope if I ever saw one. :sad2:

Well, there's lots to see in the U.P. It just isn't man-made structures. It is trees, plants, animals, more trees, more plants, more animals ... I have seen eagles, deer, one wolf (very rare - I feel blessed - he was beautiful), fox, turkey, more deer, geese, ducks, raccoons, skunks, more deer, porcupines - just to name a few.

I am always thrilled when I see animals. Birds, not so much because I am afraid of them. We have ducks, geese, and swans out in our lake so those don't bother me too much. I am not sure I have EVER seen a porcupine - even in captivity.

Just received this from Chanon:

We are at espn and its so busy at epcot. 110 for ms and 75 for soarin. Its crazy!

I just told Chuck that his mom has been in the DDA prayers. He said "My Mom? What about me? Having to run interference between my brother and sister!"

Tell him we all understand his position and feel very sorry for him... Here is a hug instead  since prayer probably wouldn't help! ;)

We had a 4 or 5 day base ticket that we converted to an AP. You have to do it in a certain amount of time from first use. However, you can't do it at the resort or a regular ticket window. You have to do it at either the Park or DTD Guest Relations.

Thanks, Vicki!

Tell Chuck that we'll pray for him too :rotfl:

I decided that I felt bad enough to go to an Immediate Care Center this morning. I am now home with a Z pack, albutural and Tussinex. The doctor said that I have developed a wheeze and that he can hear crap in my lungs, but it has not developed into pneumonia :thumbsup2 I've taken the first dose of the Z pack, now I'm using the inhaler and heading to bed for a while. I have plenty to do this afternoon, but I need rest now. The doctor said that it won't go away overnight, but I should be feeling much better by our flight on Saturday:worship: I certainly hope so.

I know you are going to feel better now, Deb! I am so glad you went.

Wow! I walked on those when we were there 2 weeks ago!

I'm glad that you went. Hopefully over the next day or 2 you will find some relief.

Oh, yeah, prayers for Chuck from me too! :wizard: ;)

How was brunch Elin?

I need to get myself in the shower and go to the grocery store. I just got up from a 3 hour nap. That prednisone knocks me out. Hope I can sleep tonight.

Brunch was yummy! I had the Duck Confit Hash and Joanne had the Omelet with Smoked Salmon and Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese. Both were very good. Looks like Poppy Hill - a Tuscan Kitchen also has a nice looking brunch menu. No place in town seems to have an old-fashioned brunch like we are used to, however. :sad2:

Tammi - sounds like your meds are letting you get some much-needed sleep. I doubt you will have trouble tonight. You are worn out!

Chuck made chili today. It is delicious. Today was more like a real fall day. Yesterday was beautiful. Perfect for being on the road. Today is perfect for just hanging out at home.

I also made a trip to Urgent Care today to get a Z pack. I'm too worn out to try to let this sinus infection go away without help.

Matty had another poop incident today at naptime. Luckily he had thrown out most of his stuffed friends before he pooped...the diaper also came off before he pooped, because it was in pristine condition. Have I mentioned he's on an antibiotic for his ear infection/pink eye? Gross!!!!

It's an absolutely gorgeous 80 degree day, but I haven't enjoyed it much.

And that's my pity party. ;)

P.S. At least we have leftover cake from the soccer celebration. :teeth:

P.P.S Phooey! I missed my post 4567.

:grouphug: That does sound gross!!! At least you have cake!

Amy feel better soon. :wizard:

Sorry atbout the poop.

At least there is cake, so all is good.

Amy - Wash your hands between the poop and the cake. ;)
I hope Matty outgrows his facination with poop quickly. It seems like Brother was in that phase for a few months. Luckily he saved those antics for his parents.
