DDA Chapter 13

I don't think I will ever "get it" though" My answer is to remove myself from it....not sure if that's right or wrong....

the sad part is, if they only would realize that I am the one (as I am sure most wives are) that made the effort to get everyone together, cooked the meals, planed the events, bought the gifts etc. If they are waiting for Bill to do all that, they are sadly mistaken

That is usually how it goes. I also am the one that made a strong effort to make sure Chuck's family was in my kid's lives. It took them years to realize this. They never had a serious estrangement but they did have times where they talked very little.

Kristine - Sorry about the family drama, my famiily isn't very close, so therefor no drama. DH's on the other hand, it's constant, and yes I always feel like his family thinks that I'm the reason there son doesn't like to come around, they don't know that I am often the one pushing him to do the right thing.

Exactly! There were many holidays that we would not have spent with his family if I had not pushed him. The phone calls he made because I told him to. The visits we would not have made without me pushing. It was all worth it because he now has a decent relationship with his sister and brother. He was always close with his parents. His brother & sister are quite a bit older than him and he was more like an only child. There is a lot of jealousy on the part of his brother & sister because he has such a good relationship with his parents.

Yea he is a nice chunk. Got weighed last week during our first Emergency Room visit. I can't say how thankful I have been that it was a full year before we had to do something like that. He weighed in at 26.2lbs. Basically we have had problems with his G-Button (what he feeds through) forming a micro hole on the inside and releasing the water and then falling out. The first seven times it was during the day, (Chik Fil A, Store, Car and such) and we have an extra. We only have like 30 minutes to get it in before he starts to close up again. Well this time it fell out while he slept, so we woke up at 5:30 to find it laying on his stomach without a clue to when it fell out. All we knew is that it wasn't going back in and I was expecting an emergency surgery. Well after five hours, a few different sizes of catheter, we got it back in. No surgery, just a lot of fussing. Say the least we switched units, because no one could tell us why we was breaking them so frequently.

Ears are working wonderfully and he is testing out at almost one year of age, only having them for 5/2 months active. It truly is amazing and he has down a few vowel and consenant sounds and recognizes even more. This last week he started clapping and throwing a ball. He is catching up fast.

Mya is just amazing with her new legs. She wiggles her twos, jumps off the ground and loves racing daddy all the time. These are things she could never have done with such stiff legs. We are actually having to learn how to use some new muscles, she never knew she had down there. She is doing well in Kindergarten and making many friends. Even a few boys :scared:

Me on the other hand still unemployed :scared1: Love this economy, I'm now looking at going back into retail until something comes along. Hopefully I will be interviewing for a Job in Denver come January, but I need to find something else till then.

Sorry long winded but I think that covers it. I will give a recap of her wish tomorrow and what they do and say. On the phone they stated how special they make it from the beginning I was ready to cry then. It really is going to be special and I'm just so excited for her. This girl gave up almost a year of her life with us focusing so much on Aidan's health and hospital stay. I'm glad she will be getting some much deserved attention and pampering.

I, for one, am glad you were long-winded! I thank you for catching us up on your lovely family. Good luck with the retail job as a filler until January. And Don't forget to come back here to tell us all about Mya's wish! :goodvibes

She didn't make it home until today. I was there with Chuck when she got home. She has oxygen tanks to use as needed. She wasn't using them much while I was there. She looked great. I don't know all the particulars yet but she is home under her own power at this time.

Terrific news! :thumbsup2

So i just realized that i am not sure if i told you about my cousin yesterday! My cousin (one of the ones in colorado) had a baby boy yesterday!! Connor James is the newest addition to our family--cannot wait to meet him in 3 weeks!!

How exciting, Jen! :lovestruc

Tammi - If you are feeling better in the morning and want to join Joanne and me for brunch at Bistro Bethem, just give me a call. Our reservation is for 11:30.

Elin - Very cool about the castle!
Yay for Chloe being at UCF! That's where I want DS to go. :rolleyes1

Robyn - We never did come up with a plan for brunch. Whatever the plan is, we need to shoot for somewhere away from the race. They typically draw over 20,000 particiapnts, and they all go eat afterwards. :scared:

If you need a private tour let me know. I would love to go back and do that. Although I would need to reacquaint myself with some areas, as the main campus has changed since my last visit a year ago. UCF's campus is one of my favorite places.

Is anyone at WDW between December 7th and 15th?

Diva cups:eek: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: No, I haven't caught up but this just :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I haven't unpacked yet. Haven't even gone into the garage and brought in my dirty laundry suitcase. Just came on to say hi and I hope to get a trip/food report up soon.

We had a great time. Never made it to Hollywood Studios. Almost didn't make it to MK!!!!! It rained everyday for at least 20 minutes. On our Illuiminations night it rained for hours. We still had a great time.

One day, no parks at all. It was all we could do to make it to our ADRs. :goodvibes

But we recharged. And are eagerly awaiting our next trip.:goodvibes

That's what it's all about isn't it??

I'm glad you're home from a wonderful trip. Can't wait to read all about it :thumbsup2

So i just realized that i am not sure if i told you about my cousin yesterday! My cousin (one of the ones in colorado) had a baby boy yesterday!! Connor James is the newest addition to our family--cannot wait to meet him in 3 weeks!!

:cool1: :cool1:

Mac it is so good to hear from you. I am so pleased to hear that both kids are thriving. You've been through so much. I hope the make a wish trip is a dream come true for all of you. :goodvibes

Tammi are you back yet? I'm hoping to hear how the doctor treats your cold. I have a feeling that I'll be seeing my doctor on Monday. My cough is no better, mayb even a bit worse, especially in cool or damp weather. I am also bringing up crap with each cough.

It was pretty busy again tonight. The owner's are expecting business to drop of significantly over the next couple of weeks due to foliage ending and the economic crisis that we are all in. I pray that they are wrong, but only time will tell. The boys were supposed to stay at my parent's house tonight, but Colby's feet and legs were hurting so I picked him up after work. He is sleeping on the futon in our room tonight just in case he needs me ;) I gave him ibuprophen as my parents did not have any childrens pain meds other than very outdated infant tylenol  I'll have to stock her cupboard before the next overnight stay.

so after messing with my computer and camera for awhile...they finally talked to each other

happy kids

Great pictures. How long has the school had those uniforms? They look very similar to UCF's uniforms only in reverse. Except UCF does not do shakos.

Yay :yay: for party!!

Elizabeth glad DS got to go.

Hope ds has a wonderful time!

Thanks! The family seems very nice. I am a wreck, of course, because I am worried about him. I am picking him up at 11 AM, which is different than what the dad told me originally. It's fine - I have no problem getting him at 11 AM, but the original plan was to see a movie tomorrow. I don't know if they decided not to go to a movie, or if they went tonight (which is expensive when you have 3 extra kids). Hopefully DS will have fun. Hopefully I will get at least some sleep tonight.

We'd love to have you. There are so many beautiful places to show you. Though, I have to warn you that it includes lots of driving with absolutely nothing else around but nature.

Hmm. I don't like driving all that much. But it has to be better than the drive from TX to KS, so that's a point in your favor! :rotfl2:

We would love a tour! You realize DS is only 12 though, right? He still has 6 years before graduation. Chances are by the time we are ready to tour you might live in that area again! ;)

Vicki - I am glad Chuck's mom is home! :)

this is their second season with that uniform. UCF's look closer to Arapahoe's uniforms...but I don't have a picture of those. Littleton was the last to get the new uniform.

I don't think I've ever been to just a grown ups party....it was fun and I was a little sad we had to leave to get Cassidy...then I was ticked because she never picked her phone up. Tomorrow is cleaning day...blech!!

Thanks, Elin, but unfortunately I think I will pass. I got home from the doctor around 4PM yesterday, with 3 different meds, and have been sleeping off and on since. Mornings are the worst for me, when all that gunk starts shifting around. I'm hoping by this afternoon I'll feel a little bit better. Enjoy the Bistro!

I am glad you got treated yesterday. Is it a sinus infection as you thought? I am also glad you have the time to rest today. Do you have to work tomorrow?

Take care. Now we have to find a Saturday night to head to Kybecca!

Sounds like me. He said it's 'complications from allergies', which I knew. I go through this EVERY October. He gave me amoxicillian, prednisone and a cough medicine. They, whoever THEY are, say that sinus infections will clear up on their own, but I never have the patience to wait for that to happen. I like the assistance of DRUGS! And you don't have the time, so if I were you I'd get to the doctor.
