Did everybody see this?

The tour will be here 10/14 at the mall across the street from me! I TRIED to win a pin but I struck out. Sad, sad.
We saw that before, and have the Cincinnati event on our calendar!
Glynis and Debbie --

Your families will be in my prayers!
My girlfriend called me tonight and asked me if Emma mentioned the incident in school today. I told her she hadn't and she was surprised so she filled me in on it. Emma's class had a substitute and my girlfriend was in the class volunteering and said the most of the kids in the class were being rather unruly and doing all those things kids do when there is a sub. The sub was annoyed that the kids kept digging through their desks and chatting. So she told them all they needed to stay out of their desks and continue on with their work. By this time my girlfriend was in the hallway and as she was making her way back in she heard the sub snap at one of the kids. She then walked back over to where she was sitting and Emma had her head on her desk sobbing hysterically. Emma was the one she snapped at. Emma's pencil broke and she went into her desk to get a new one and "got caught". Now Emma didn't mention any of this but I asked her about it and she got upset, she was afraid we'd be mad at her. I am willing to give the sub a bit of leeway that it is beyond frustrating that the kids act all crazy when there is a sub but I think snapping at the kids like that is uncalled for.

Most of the kids in Em's class were in her class last year and we all know how well they functioned with a sub.
Poor Emma!
I'm glad Hunter is better. His ear infection must have made it's way to Alyssa. She complained of it hurting last night after she got out of the shower. Then she complained in the middle of the night, even though I had given her some children's motrin. So I gave her half of an adult tablet. I hope I can keep her medicated enough to get through school, then I'll take her to the dr. afterwards.
Oh no! I hope Alyssa is on the mend quickly!
Hooray!

Have a wonderful time!
Wow. $59 per night at a Value! Our first trip in 1/05 we got Pop for $55 per night. The thing that is keeping us home until next August is the combination of lack of APs and outrageous airfare.

Plus trying to figure out dates that would work for both DH and DS is a pain.
That kind of increase is why we bought DVC when we did. We went in December of 2005 and stayed in a value for $49/night, no AP rate or anything - just value season. In December 2006, the rate was $70-something, for the same kind of room, same time of year, etc. That was the clincher for us!
I was popping in to say hi, and I noticed the prayer request from Glynis. Your mom and dad (and you of course!) are in my prayers. Please know that I am thinking of you!!!
Life is crazy busy with work. I knew that FT would be busy, but I don't think I realized how busy. I definitely have new found respect for all of y'all who work FT, take care of your families, especially the ones who have traveling spouses or are single moms. Whew! Anyway, I keep trying to keep up here, but I don't DIS much at all. I have 3, 12 hour shifts a week plus class all day on Friday. Hopefully it'll slow down after classes end in mid December.
So sending everyone a big hello and hug!
Hi Denise! Please stop in when you can, I miss you!
We're having a nice time in Chicago. It's warmer than I expected, but we're staying downtown so our particular weather is very nice since everything is shaded by the buildings. Our hotel (Wyndham Downtown) is very nice. A block from N Michigan Ave, not far from Navy Pier, Grant Park, etc.... it's a really great location! Our drive was uneventful, other than stopping to feed the girls (we NEVER used to stop on a 6 hour trip!

). Last night we ordered a pizza from Giordani's, and called it a night. Today, the girls and I hit the "Magnificent Mile" (and moreso the side streets, where some of my favorite spots hide!) while Kyle presented his case. He's back now, and as soon as the girls eat (about 20 minutes) we're heading out to Navy Pier for the night.
I hope you all are doing well!
(And as a side note, I'm a DVC snob. Do families with infants and toddlers really do dishes (bottles, etc) by hand, and in the bathroom sink(!?) on most vacations? It's grossing me out, and also annoying me because I'm spoiled. There, I said it.

I'm having a hard enough time reconciling the fact that we only booked a studio for March (severe addonitis all of a sudden!), let alone trying to fathom staying in a regular hotel room for that long!)
Have a good evening!
