Jen what was the outcome of today at school? I'm curious

Well i had a meeting and im getting a new child with many problems starting on monday--im very freaked out about it and hope everything goes well

I'm in the need of some major pixie dust right now. My dad just called me to let me know that things with my mom have spiraled downhill rather rapidly. She's on dialysis 3 times a week, and for the last 2 weeks at each session, she's passed out. Her blood pressure becomes almost non-existent, and it's been really puzzling. Her doctor's ran some tests today and found that her new (well, 5 year old) heart valve is not functioning at all anymore. That is affecting her dialysis and causing her to pass out. It's very dangerous, as the dialysis is not working effectively, without that valve, so her body is collecting all the poison and not getting rid of it.

She has an emergency meeting with the heart specialist at 8:00 tomorrow morning, and they will most likely schedule her for surgery as soon as possible. They will try to get her stabilized, but dad is projecting that surgery could come as early as Monday, if not sooner.

If you could spare some prayers, good thoughts, pixie dust, etc., for my mom and dad, I would appreciate it. She's in good health otherwise, so hopefully this surgery will really fix her up.

Chuck and I talked some more and I decided I wanted to stay at Saratoga Springs for half of our trip. The Princess Half ladies are thinking about eating at DTD or POR Saturday night for Pasta (recommended for the night before a race). Being at SSR, will make that easier for us.

they had exactly what I wanted for the dates I wanted.

Next, I have to find out how I get to the Sports Complex on Friday to pick up my race packet. For race day, I'll hire a taxi.

I have never had anyone mistake my boys for twins or me & my sister. But I do remember when I was 13 being at the grocery store with my sister & I was pushing my niece in the cart(she was under a year old) & this lady comes up to me telling me how cute my baby is

My girls are always asked if they are twins. It drives them both crazy. Especially Katrina since she is 3 years older than Becky. When she was in high school (& Becky was middle school), they used to call Becky "Little Katrina". She didn't care for that much (at least she always said that - I'm not sure she meant it because she did have a little older sister worship going on).

Glynis, I love, love, love my job! It is just wonderful, the other nurses and docs are sooooo nice and helpful. It's been wild so far (already had 2 babies crash and go critical on me during my shift), so I am learning a ton and using my brain cells again. I know I made the right decision, and it is definitley the job for me.

I think you did an excellent job, Deb. The other thing that is of great import is that some of these companies (AIG in particular) are firmly seated in international banking, securities, insurance, investment, etc. If they go under there is a chance that the entire world economy would take a nosedive the likes of which not even Robert Heinlein could have envisioned. It is very sad and extremely scary!

Another important fact is that the big execs at these companies that "we" are bailing out for bad decisions on their part make millions of dollars which we will be paying.

Prayers requested for my best friend Jan and her family. Her father died. He has been in and out of the hospital for the last year or so. He was in his late 80's I think. It is one of those situations where it is a blessing for him but a terrible loss for my best friend.

I was bummed because I forgot we can't make ADR's yet. I have to wait because you can't make them for the week we are there yet because of the upgrade. I would have sworn she told me it would be the same time every week, but I guess not. I think she would prefer to work in the morning and leave for chemo, though. If she was finished in time to go to work in the afternoon I doubt she would actually go. If she can get a few hours in and then leave it is probably better.
