DDA Chapter 11

Terry I am glad you received a somewhat better reply, but I wonder if the girl will really be reprimanded?

Looks like Fay is still pelting Orlando with rain & wind, I feel so bad for everyone there. I hope our DDA family is able to make the best of it!

I got this in reply this morning. Much better

Mrs. H:

You are correct, the wording was not appropriate. Instead of arguing, Ixxx should have made every effort to help the situation. Arguing did not aid the situation.

Regarding our nice and bright policy ... you are correct, in this instance, that was not the time to be nice and bright. Rather, it was the time to do something, such as, ice or aid as you suggested.

I appreciate your point of view and again offer my apologies for this unfortunate accident.

R L

This is much better though it sounds like the standard, tell the customer anything to make them happy approach  I hope that they actually do something to prevent accidents like this from happening in the future.

Just a quick notice that we will be camping this weekend. I'll check back in sometime on Sunday. Have a wonderful weekend.

Jen I hope you hear something before we leave today. If not I may have to call you to find out :rolleyes1

...and all you have to do is google "calgon take me away" and he pops up!

Ok ladies (and gents!) I'm on the lookout for gable boxes. I have to buy them soon - by next Friday if not sooner - but they are so expensive!
Just in case, this is a gable box:

I can find 30 gold or brown 9x6x6 gable boxes for $50 OR 100 9x6x6 white gable boxes for $50. We really don't like the kraft color - they remind me of brown paper bags.
Any other suggestions on what we could use? We plan on using them for Out of Town guests to have in their hotel room. I'm shying away from "open baskets" because you never know what people would take when delivering - and I rather enjoy the element of suprise when someone opens the box/bag. The largest items that would be in the box would be two water bottles.

(If I buy the 100 white gable boxes, does anyone have use for 50 to 75 boxes that might want to split the cost with me??)

Chanon here are a couple of places I use to order from for my candle & soap packaging:

Hope this helps!

I wonder if that is just an ADHD thing? It's like Jim just doesn't "see" anything in the world that could hurt him or that he could hurt somebody. I've said sorry to more people for him then I ever have for the girls.:headache: Though Abi does come close (but I do also think she is slightly ADD....I've just been trying to teach her to be hyper aware since she was little)

It absolutely is! Elizabeth -- did you every get DS's meds regulated? I know at one point you wondered if the dose was too low as he's grown.

Just a fly by post with an update...All the tests showed no problems with my mom's heart. :yay: That is such a relief as her dad died from a heart attack at age 47. The doctors think that it is either acid reflux or stress related.

Emma met her teacher today and likes her a lot!! I think she has a good class too.

I just got back from 2 1/2 hours at Gail's just hanging out. It was nice to just chat and get away from my house for a bit. I am now headed out to our parent meeting for Emma's Girl Scout troop.

Have a great night.

I'm glad the tests were okay and that Emma liked her teacher. Good for you for hanging out and taking time to veg.

Lindsay - I phoned The Maids because that is who my cousin in KC uses. I expected them to be expensive, and they are. Our apartment would be $93 + Tax every week and it's only 1100 square feet! Every other week would be $116. My bosses don't pay that much for their house, and they have more than 1100 square feet! But the lady they use isn't that thorough, either! The lady who cleaned for the boss I had before Brother & Sister was awesome, but it has been almost 5 years since I saw her so I have no clue if she still cleans. :confused3 I also don't know how to get in touch with her.

Are you on good terms with the former boss? I would call. I pay $85 every two weeks -- one of the perks of living in a small town! They do an okay job -- not terrific, but I'm allergic to dust and strong chemical smells so I don't have to do it and I trust them.

So, when it rains it pours,
I got home this afternnon to find my AC frozen solid. So now I have a dishwasher and an AC that need to be fixed. The dishwasher will be replaced, they don't cost enough to warrant paying to have an old one repaired, and the AC man will be here tomorrow afternoon. :headache:

Let's not even talk about losing the money that I had paid at the gym that closed and paying a new fee last night to sign up at the new one.

Can someone please pass the Calgon?

I'm so sorry. I've been having some of those issues myself! Good news that you like the new gym.

Happy Birthday Riley!

Ditto!

Debbie Happy Birthday to your Grandson :bday:

Yes -- happy birthday. Debbie -- I love the pic you posted of him and the other kids.

Just a quick notice that we will be camping this weekend. I'll check back in sometime on Sunday. Have a wonderful weekend.

I hope you guys have a fantastic time! I was looking at the calories/fat of the bread (which I probably shouldn't have done) -- how many servings did it make?

We went to the orientation last night. Andrew's teacher seems great -- she even teaches some college classes. There are a few people in there that he's been in class with for a while, so I think it will be good. They change classes all day and we don't know who is in the other classes yet.

Jake's teacher is the one from summer school, and he likes her, but I'm concerned because she's never been a lead teacher. I pay the equivalent of a cheaper new car for him to go to that school, and it doesn't give me a warm fuzzy feeling. Oh well, I'm going to keep an open mind and see what happens... His best friend isn't in his class this year, and he was bummed, but there are several he's gotten to know. At least he does have girls in his class this year -- he's gone three years with no girls!

This afternoon is meet the teacher, and then we have Merrie's party tonight. I just know one of her kids will blow the surprise...

We have my niece's party tomorrow, soccer practice, baseball lessons, a local chamber auction etc., so another busy weekend. Have a great day everyone. :)

I can't believe that storm is still going! :sad2:

Have fun!

I can't believe "The Rock" was at Disney while we were there & we did not see him :sad2:

Huh. We didn't see him, either. :confused3

Marci sounds like another busy week for you, hope the party is a success tonight!

Marci-your schedule tires me out just reading it!! I understand the apprehension in teachers...I have one that I'm not so sure about. He is Abi's Advanced Language Arts teacher....he hasn't taught LA in over 5 years!! and I don't think he's ever taught an advanced class.
Turns out my smarty pants kid is in all advanced classes except social studies (which isn't offered as a middle school advanced class), let's just hope she will turn her homework in!!

I hope your fears are unfounded.

Well, so far I have managed to make one incredibly WEAK pot of coffee (I have never used this coffee maker before), one pot of stronger coffee with grounds in it :headache: , and Princess peed all over herself, her shoes, and the floor in the playroom. This does not bode well for the rest of my day. :sad2:
