DDA Chapter 11

Theresa - Sounds like fun! ;)

Dadboss mentioned that there is something weird going on with the toilets and the shower drains in the back part of the house. After Princess wet all over herself I took her back to wash her off in the tub. The tub was full of grit that had backed up from the drain. The water that I rinsed her with didn't drain out of the tub (I just had her stand in the tub), and now it has the faintest scent of sewage. :scared: Guess I won't be bathing her this afternoon! I told Dadboss this morning that it would be best if the plumber came on Monday, but I didn't realize how serious the problem was!

Well, it looks like my charges are finally starting school on Monday. Only 2 weeks late, but hey, whatever. They could probably use some good thoughts though. After we toured the school BigSis says, "I thought there were no buses." I confirmed that they did have buses there and she says, "But I thought you said private schools didn't have buses." Umm, uh oh. MomBoss has never bothered to tell the girls that they are going to a different school than they think they are. They think they're going to a private, Christian school and they are going to a public school (though MomBoss intends to move them to the private school later in the sememster). In the course of the conversation I told BigSis the name of the school and answered her question that it wasn't a private school. I just couldn't see letting a 5th grader go to a new school, two weeks into the year, not knowing the name of her school or that it wasn't Christian. I can just see the issue it might cause when she calls the school by the wrong name and then is confused. Add to that, the girls won't have the required uniforms for the first few days, apparently, and I'm concerned with how smoothly the transition is going to be. Cinderella has already been acting out like crazy today due to what I'm sure is the stress and confusion. It was only yesterday afternoon that MomBoss told them they would start school on Monday.

Terra, on the other hand, is ecstatic that it's time for them to go to school. So at least someone is happy. ;) :rotfl:

Tia, that does NOT sound like a good situation AT ALL. Are you still exploring other employment opportunities?

I think I got my gable box problem fixed! There's a place called the Flower Factory that has 9x5x5 kraft gable boxes in stock. Even though I don't like the brown paper bag look, I can deal with it. They have 26 boxes and at 65 cents a pop, I'm happy! It may be a 40 minute drive to get to the Flower Factory, but that's cheaper than $14 in shipping. On the way home we'll stop at Staples and I'll pick up some Avery Labels that are 4x6. I'll just make my own labels (thanks to some ideas from DigitalScrapbookingPlace.com and Photoshop!) and buy some fall ribbon (which is on clearance already at Joanne's!) and cover up most of the kraft brown color anyways! WHOO HOO!

those poor girls, what an upside down situation they are in. Mom just seems to be unstable and the girls are paying the price.

OH YES!!! Things are just too unpredicatble, complicated, uncommunicative and thus stressful to continue here too long. I'm working on contacting other families and will be doing that a lot this weekend. My goal, though probably a little too far-fethched, it to start a new positon when we return from our trip. Definitely soon after though!

Yay! Don't you love it when the little details fall into place? :goodvibes

Good! Did you ever contact Sharon Graff-Radell?
One of my friends told me the INA conference will likely be here in Dallas next year. I might have to pop in for some of the workshops, just to see if any of my old buddies are there!

Sounds great! I think the brown kraft color and the fall ribbon will work in very nicely with your theme.

I hadn't before, but I plan to now. BabyGirl is on vacation with her dad through Monday so I'm planning to take that "no charges" time to make some calls and she's definitely on my list. I haven't had any business hours to myself in the last couple of weeks with everyone here the whole days.

Well, I promised to take the girls out for a "back to school" treat after quiet time so I guess I'd better run. Catch you all soon.

There is a thread over on the CB, it is probably on page 2 by now. It seems the oldest Duggar boy got engaged this year and is getting married in Sept. this year.

Thank you Chnaon. :goodvibes
I love this man.

Good luck!! :wizard:

Ouch! Can you just plan to hit several of the "plain" PhotoPass guys early one morning at MK?
We probably could, but given we only have two days at Disney, we were gonna focus more on the parks. I'd love to get "nice photos" of us on our honeymoon, but we'll have cruise photos too. I guess we'll just play it by ear - if I can get the shoot for $25 then I'd do it in a heartbeat. If $75 happens to be left over after the cruise, we might consider it again.

Interesting!

Do ya think that him and Bones will get together this season?

Tia - MomBoss sounds like a real ninny! I hope you are still looking elsewhere.

Chanon - I think you will love the gable boxes decorated with a label and fall-colored ribbon. Very smart! :thumbsup2

OK, pleading ignorance here... Who, or what, is a Duggar boy???

He'll always be Angel to me! :lovestruc

Fly-by post as usual...I was hoping to see an update from Jen. :wizard:

And more tidbits about the mystery TubMan... :confused3

I got on here hoping that Jen had some news to post too. :goodvibes
