DDA Chapter 11

So which ride would you choose?

The boys and I choose Expedition Everest. We could live inside the mountain and we'd have a spectacular view from the top. We could even view the Savannah.

We all said no way to It's a small World :lmao:

I'm going to take the kids swimming now. There won't be many more nice days in the future. By the end of the week or early next week we will probably see the remenants of Hannah :sad2:

It's looking a little Gustav-y outside. We have had some serious wind gusts today, and now it is clouding over. They estimate that we will get less than an inch of rain from that system, though. :confused3

Grrrr. My afternoon is taking a nose dive.
Princess wet her bed during her nap. Now her bedding is in the wash, she has had a bath, and I am wondering just how many pairs of panties she wet in over the weekend. There are only 2 in her drawer. I thought she had 13 pairs, which means 1 in the wash, 2 in the drawer, and TEN in the basket of dirty laundry? So she went through 3 pairs of panties every day? She is going back to school next week. I sincerely hope she plans to use the potty at school! She has been staying dry for me. The panties she puts on in the morning stay dry until I go home at night, so she should NOT be averaging 3 pairs every day on the weekend. :sad2:

DS just called. He gave the CASH to the PE coach. Coach said they are not issuing receipts, and that they won't have the uniforms for 2 more weeks, and DS won't get a uniform unless he pays now. Whatever! Please note that we NEVER got anything in writing, e-mail, or otherwise, about these uniforms. Just DS coming home and telling us he needs $10 CASH for a uniform. The coach took his money and wrote his name down, along with his size. They had a choice of S, M, or L. Are these ADULT sizes? I am NOT happy with the PE coach. What's wrong with sending home an ORDER FORM?

DS also brought home a packet about going to Washington, DC. In JUNE. For 3 days, to the tune of $1500! :scared1: Registration deadline is Oct. 31. Gee, let me think. NO! Definitely NOT. I will look at the packet but I am really not interested in sending him. Of course he is already arguing that ALL of his friends are going. I doubt it. DH said it will be like ALL of his friends going on the band trip to Six Flags. In the end almost NONE of his friends went! And that didn't cost $1500!

Back to school today!

LOVE IT!

Well im all set up and ready for tomrorow!! off to dinner :)

Aug. 7-16 for us!

Sorry. That isn't really fair, but of course the school is going to bend over backwards for the moms they see all the time. :sad2:
Thanks. My girlfriend and her DH asked us to join them on a cruise next September for their 10th anniversary. While it seems great and would be wonderful for just Eric and I to get away for double the cost we can go to WDW for 10 days.

Not happy still but not surprised by the "party line" either. And now the other mom is trying to back out. I really don't want to drive up there by myself but I will.

I just got an e-mail from the school. The band is having a car wash on Saturday 9/13! How fabulous!
Just think, my child is IN THE BAND and nobody told US there is a car wash, yet now the whole school has been invited! What stellar planning! :headache: I swear that band director can't hold a thought in his head from start to finish!

Wow, that's crazy. We always got pledges beforehand (like a month or so before) so our car wash was free, but we of course accepted tips.

I hope it gets better.

I took the boys swimming. It was HOT in the sun today. We came home and had dinner. I made and printed a simple design for Hunter's Lifeguard Sweatshirt. Unfortunately I don't have any parchment paper so I will need to pick some up tomorrow. I should work on Chris's costume, but really don't feel like it. Chris is out piling wood with DB. I went out for a few minutes, but the mosquitos are really biting. I'm itchy from the few bites I got.:scared:

Chris and I went back on our diet today. We haven't done so since early in the summer and it really shows. I guess my Mother did too, but we had no idea that the other was planning to do so :rotfl: We've been really good, but I must say that I'm really hungry and we already ate. I did make a pot of low point soup so we can snack on that later. Hopefully we can stick to it now that the kids are back in school. If I don't loose weight before winter I will need new pants:scared:

I'm gonna be weird and say our thread title reminds me of the wrong chapter 11.

(ETA: Are there other threads out there that are further along than ours?)

The Panama canal threads for my cruise meet was at number 14 before we left for the trip. This was since they switched to the multiple thread system. It averaged 150 posts a day or more. It was way more active then this thread. There were many more before that numbering started.

Then again of the about 2500 passengers on the ship, between 2000 and 2100 were repeat cruisers.

Random observation: Mickey Bars are $4 at Disneyland. I was sure the price was going to have increased at Disney World. Nope they are still $2.50. I did not buy any at either place. I got a bunch on the Magic though, through room service or at the dining rooms.

That could work! And it is MUCH cheaper than the things I was finding! :rotfl2:

I think you should come to WDW next August.

I told DS if he really wants to go to DC that we will do the Adventures by Disney itinerary that is Philly, DC, and Williamsburg. The ABD trip is $2200 for EIGHT days. Airfare is $400, so $2600 for 8 days vs. $1500 for 3 days. That school tour company is making a KILLING. That price is for quad occupancy, too. I don't think DS would be very happy sharing a bed with another kid. He doesn't have to share a bed when he travels with us. I read through the stuff and they really aren't doing many things DS would enjoy, so there is NO WAY he is going. They are spending one afternoon at the Smithsonian and less than one afternoon at the National Zoo, and those are what he would like best. I explained to him that $1500 will pretty much cover our December '09 trip to WDW (it'll be a short trip and we'll have APs again). That doesn't include airfare, but it'll cover hotel, food, MVMCP, etc. And that's for all 3 of us! He has now decided maybe he dosn't want to go to DC, especially since the trip isn't until JUNE when school is over!

Deb - Good luck with your diet!
I didn't gain weight at WDW, but I have porked out a bit since we got home. Or maybe it was a delayed gain from WDW. Anyway, I could definitely stand to take off about 10 pounds. I won't do it, but it would be a good idea.

Jennifer, Vicki, Janet (Riley), Marti, and Heidi - Your pins are in the mail!

Me too! We were actually talking about another DDA meet here at our house last night. Wondering when we could make it happen since we don't seem to be able to make it work at WDW this year.

Um a week or two from now over the weekend to see the Magic in Norfolk.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 9/13 - 14 or 9/19- 20.Can you tell I am in MAJOR withdrawal? Although I do not think I am up for that long of a drive. As it is 6-7 hours each way. I do not think my foot could take it.

But I am really thinking about going. Then again I may have to work. I need to go away somewhere I am sick of being home already.;) :cutie:

Things seem to be coming together for NC...If so, we will be at Disney early to mid August!:thumbsup2

Chanon & Janet,

From Allears..(oohhh QUEEN beds!)
Coronado Springs Resort is undergoing some upgrades over the next several months. The resort is in the process of replacing its double beds with queens (the Rancho section is complete, as are Casitas 4 & 5). In addition there will be new furniture to suit modern tastes, but still in theme. One hundred rooms will get upgraded to king beds (CSR will then have 224 king rooms). All of the rooms are getting flat screen TVs. Tables are being replaced with desks so that floor space is preserved after putting in larger beds. In addition to these room changes, one Coronado Springs building will be transformed into a "Business Club" building. All Business Club Level rooms will have two queen-size beds or one king-size bed, desk and chair, vanity area with sink, a ceiling fan and a bathroom. These rooms offer views of the lake, courtyard or parking lot. Business Club Level services include personalized Front Desk and Guest Services, turndown service and a lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine (additional fee) and cheese. Amenities include DVD player, in-room wall safe, voice mail, data port, hairdryer, iron, ironing board, mini-fridge, robes and coffee maker. A crib is available upon request. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. Most of these updates are being made with a minimal impact on guests.
