hi all

We are planning our first trip with our DD. She will be 2.5. We plan on taking it slow and will probably spend a lot of time at the resort. Any suggestions on which would be best for the 3 of us? AoA looks nice but I am worried about the distance from MK since that would be were most of our time is spent.

You don't mention what your budget is, but if you are looking for close proximity to the MK I would suggest one of the Monorail resorts. If you can swing the Contemporary, you'll be able to walk to and from the MK.

If those are too much, AoA is probably only a 15 minute bus ride to MK.

You can really look at it a few different ways:

1) Deluxe offering such as Poly is closest to MK, which is primarily where you might spend most of your time, and the Poly pool is fun, plus you feel like your in the tropics, which can give you as parents a true vacation feel.
2) For moderate- I would suggest CBR with the Nemo themed room, and they have a fun pool for kids of all sizes. You also have some beaches here too.
3) For value- I prefer POP, but AsMo offers Disney character and bright decor, and the pools and playgrounds are fun for kids that age. Drawback, rooms are small!

Bus rides are really not that bad, but it depends on when you go and if it's crowded. We've never had any issues. If you are concerned with it, then try to stay as close as you can to MK.

Hope this helps!

I would recommend Beach Club...although its not near MK! We took our daughter when she turned 2 to the Beach Club and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else now!

First is the pool, they have a nice little kiddie slide on the back of the pirate ship and they also have a sand bar area. The water is shallow with mounds of sound reaching out to the middle. Younger kids can have some independence playing in this area, either sitting in the sand, building a sand castle or walking into the water and running back!

The close proximity to Epcot and HS was perfect, we were able to walk to the resort in case she fell asleep in the stroller without having to wake her up and fold the stroller to get on a bus. We'd always do an afternoon nap/resort relaxation so being so close to 2 of the parks really helped.

I thought we would spend most of our time in MK because of her age, but actually spent an equal amount of time at all the parks. The Disney Junior stuff at HS and the Honey I shrunk the kids playground was a great hang out for her.

Have fun planning!

We have taken our boys 5 times and they are now 2.5. What I have learned is that they truly could care less where we stay. They have enjoyed all the resorts (and we have stayed all levels with them). Being close to MK is ideal but you can still have a great trip and not stay on the monorail.

For deluxe I would recommend the CR. Having the ability to walk to the MK is fantastic. The garden view rooms are less expensive. Also, easy access to Epcot via monorail. You can easily go to the WL or to FW via boat and explore.

For moderate, I think cbr is the best for toddlers. My boys had a blast at the pool here. There is a separate area for the under 48" group and it is gated. The grounds are beautiful and it has a great playground.

For vaue, either AoA or movies. We haven't done AoA but it looks fun and child oriented for sure. We have done movies. The pool is great for the little ones with a big Mickey and it had a good kids play area (but no where near what cbr has). Also, of the resorts we have stayed at with the boys, they loved this playground the most.

Any other questions just ask.

We have only taken the kids once this past March and we stayed at ASMo. My kids are huge Toy Story fans and I really wanted to have the "wow" factor with the theme for them. We are doing AoA for our next trip because of the Cars theme and we need a suite as there are 5 of us (bringing my mom). I think it really depends somewhat on the kid. My kids would be fine at CBR or CR or Poly but I really wanted to knock their socks off with the themes geared towards them. Mission accomplished.. they loved it! After AoA we are planning either ASMu or POR and then for DS's 5th bday next year, we will let him choose the resort (I suspect we will end up at AS Sports)

Our DD will be 2 at the time of our trip in Sept. We chose the Poly because we wanted to be able to get back to the room quickly if we needed to.

Thanks for the quick response everyone! You have been a BIG help.
