DCL Website Needs a Drydock

Site is dead again. I went back to try to book the excursions I was too annoyed to book a few weeks ago. And right now:

DisneyCruiseLine.com is currently undergoing maintenance.
On deck, onshore and online, Disney Cruise Line is committed to providing you and your family with the most magical vacation on the high seas. Currently, we're making things even better at DisneyCruiseLine.com, so please be sure to check back here shortly. We appreciate your patience and look forward to sailing with you soon.

Once again they're putting a big ol' wall between my money and their site.

Also, performing service-interrupting maintenance in the middle of the afternoon, east-coast time, is bloody brilliant. You can't even search for a cruise right now.

I know. Great isn't it. :bored:

Yup, down again. My friend works for Disney here in Seattle and he said he can't even access it internally... booo

I used to work in IT and unless the hardware blew up we never took servers down during the day, only like 1AM Sunday morning and had to be back up by 6AM. Taking a consumer site down during the day is just plain poor business.

As someone mentioned earlier...as long as the money is coming in, hand over fist...why care about a bad website(s) that go down during the day, night, weeks at a time, steal money from people's accounts, crash, clear people's reservations, etc.?

The motto changed from "if it ain't broken don't fix it" to "if we're still getting their money, don't fix it)

It was working last night too, cuz I had no problem looking up B2B pricing. :)

What's great is when it goes down when you get into your excursion booking time slot. We had that happen last summer, when a bunch of us were trying to book stuff at midnight (or 9pm in my case). That was super frustrating.

It's not just DCL website that is horrible, it's all of them. I'm a DVC Member, the DVC site ALWAYS has issues. Any website that Disney operates needs a serious overhaul. I've read so many threads all over the place of people complaining and yet nothing changes. Also read, don't know if it's true, that most of the web is handling by others out of the country. It's baffling to me that they don't maintain their high Disney standards to their website as they do to their brand.

I have long thought their website needs an overhaul, it has been poor for some years.

I have no issue when I'm using my Mac, but if I try to pull anything up on my PC at work I have no luck.

It has been frustrating for years. There is NO excuse for a company with Disney's resources to be running such a crappy inefficient line of websites. Their entire IT department should be replaced.

What they really need to do is contract all of the websites out to a company that knows what they are doing. They should be having Amazon Web Services run all of their websites.
