DCL scrapbook Pages??

until i read this thread i had no idea what a digital scrapbook was.:confused3 i now find myself with an order for 3 books on the subject on the way to my house.:teacher: it looks fascinating. i can't wait to try.
i have lots of scrapbooking supplies and albums but i never seem to get around to doing it. when i do i'm not always happy with the result. now i will be able to scrap the page and start over if i don't like it. try doing that with the glued on pictures and lace!
thanks for opening my eyes and wish me luck.:surfweb:

Love looking at everyone's amazing pages! I use Creative Memories StoryBook Creator software. There are some tutorials on the Creative Memories website that are helpful to people new to digital scrapbooking. There are sellers on eBay who sell some cute Disney digital kits and Disney digital premade pages for great prices.... I bought some today and am starting to make my pages for our July Cruise....

what did you search when you were on ebay? i'll have to take a look.:surfweb:

Cass AKA Timon, I finally grabbed a moment to look at your layouts and WOW! They are beautiful.

WOW! i just look through your digital scrapebook for 2005. that is awesome. i'm new to this and have no idea so if this is a stupid question, forgive me. where did you get all the backgrounds from? is this a program, did you scan pages, what? it is great. thanks for sharing.:flower3:
I don't want to answer for Timon, whose pages are truly amazing! But, for me I've used the links I posted above, they have a store front for purchasing as well as the freebies they send in their newsletters. Additionally, when I've searched there are LOTS of sites with amazing artists to buy from, and the fun thing about digital is once you've purchased the item, you can reuse it as much as you want.

I would like to know this also - never thought of ebay - just did a search in ebay on "disney digital scrapbook" and found quite a bit - unfortunately I gotta run, so I can't browse/buy now, but hopefully later.

You can search under "Disney Digital Scrapbook." I love the digital scrapbooking (mostly because I don't have to drag out all of my junk....) But I am not quite as creative as some of the ladies who have posted beautiful pages on here.... so it's nice to be able to get the pages premade and just plop the pictures onto the holes -- at least for some of the pages -- also makes the whole project go much quicker. I did get a couple of kits on eBay too... One pirate -- not Disney -- so search "Pirate Digital scrapbook." Also got a cruise kit (not Disney) -- search "Cruising Digital." Also got a beach kit -- "Beach digital scrapbook." I never thought digital scrapbooking could become as addictive as traditional... but...um... it has. Hope this helps! :goodvibes

As for the backgrounds, some are Disney papers that I scanned in. Some of them were created by me in Photoshop and a few of them were freebies I downloaded from the internet.

If you do a search for digital scrapbooking in Google, you will find a lot of very cool digi-SB sites and most of them have a freebie page where you can download elements to use in your pages.

And like MousseauMob said, the great thing about digital is that once you have an element, you can re-use it all you want. The other great thing is that you can change the colors in your digital program. So if you d/l a pink ribbon but really need a green ribbon, you can adjust the colours and make it whatever colour you like!

When I go into a SB store, I want to buy everything in sight. It's just too darn expensive for me. With digital, I can either make what I want (wonderful creative expression!) or get it for free so it only costs something when I print my layouts.

I have tons of SBing stuff, I don't want to get rid of it but I hardly ever use it. Guess I will hang onto it until my daughter grows up and we can do crafting together :thumbsup2

I finally started my scrapbook this weekend!!!!!! WOOHOO!!! :woohoo:
My DH was so sweet and gave me my Valentine's Day present early and it was a basket with all my pictures and Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Meet the Robinson's. Even though I've been sick and feel like , I still managed to scrap 39 pages this weekend. Granted, that's just layout and no journaling yet, that's still 39 pages!!! I would have done more, but I ran out of tape dots. I've got to go get more on my lunch break today. The sad thing is...even though I did 39 pages, I still have at least 50-60 more left to do. This thing is going to be huge!!!!!!!! :scared1:

So here's a dumb question. I apologise in advance!

Once you have created all your digital layouts, do you just save them to a cd or something?

TIA:flower3:

That's me too, we rarely use it - I just don't have the heart to get rid of it - some of it is SO cool and I'll give it to my daughter when she gets older.

Actually what I do is use www.MyPublisher.com. I pull the pages in as full bleed to edge pages and then they print and bind the book and send it to me. Even though I like to digi-scrap, I love a book that we can open and go through and talk about. There are other companies that do the same thing, I've just used MyPublisher for years and have always loved their quality and customer support. Their website has more information.

You have to save your pages (or pics of pages) to a service like photobucket (it's free to have an account and upload pics). Once you have saved them there you can cut & paste the img url below the pic(It's the code that starts with img underneath each picture) to a post and it will show it as a picture.

It will look like this
when you write the post, but it will show up as a photo

Thank you so much. I will post soon. Everyone does a great job scrapbooking!!!

Not a dumb question at all..... Like MousseauMob said, you can save them into a Storybook through one of the online companies and have them bound.... This is my favorite way to document a special event or trip also. I use StoryBook Creator through Creative Memories, just because that's what I am used to and it's pretty user friendly. Or, you can save the page as a jpeg file and print them out or have them printed, depending on the size.... I use Creative Memories to print my 12 x 12 prints... I also understand Costco will print 12 x 12 prints at a good price, but I have never used them. After you print them, you can insert the whole page right into a traditional scrapbook -- so you can combine traditional and digital pages if you want -- which is nice -- esepcially if you want to include memorabilia.

Thanks for this! I like the idea of digital scrapping but would really miss having the physical album to look through.

Off to search for someone in the UK who can print 12 x 12 now.:thumbsup2

There are some newer personal printers that will do this as well. I have no idea how much they run, but if you're looking to upgrade a printer anyway, you might want to look into it.

I have a slly question for you guys. Do they have photopass on board? or do you have to buy each photo seperatly? I think photopass is awesome, I would even buy a seperate one just for the ship

Janet

Edited because I removed the pages. Will repost soon!

Timon, those are terrific! What software/kit did you use?? How long did it take to do? I really liked them.:cool2:
