DCL Party Planning Thread (combined threads)

How do I post items for the "party vision" portion of the site but nothing seems to work.

would have been more fun at my house if it was done in the summer with my pool and made a big pool party out of it.

Will have to figure out a vacation from cold to tropical and make our guests feel as if they were on vacation in a tropical place. Leaving all the cold behind

does it have to be a family event???? may just make it a girls night out away from children and Husbands and pamper them as if they were on the ship and the Dh and kids were in the theater or cabin or anywhere she is NOT.

That would sell me a few umbrella drinks would not hurt either

We are hosting "Adventures Away in Hanover, PA"

I have several thousand pictures from our past DCL cruises and plan to have them as a continuous slide show on our laptop. My dh is going to download several songs Disney plays onboard (Hey Baby, Pump It, Cha Cha Slide, etc.) Our ds6 and ds10 want to show their friends the Sail Away dances they have learned from cast members dancing to the above songs. They also want to set up all their cruise toys and stuffed characters around the party areas. We plan on playing the DCL dvd, some video footage from past cruises and just speak to our family and friends about how much we love cruising with Disney. We have several friends borderline about booking and hope to convince them to go ahead and book. We have friends that have booked but not yet gone on DCL and plan to answer any questions, give some hints about what to expect, etc. I have several scrap books I also plan to have out for people to look through. We'll have tons of food and drinks and will put out anything Disney happens to send our way too.

I've been chosen as well. We have a few friends who are as WDW-obsessed as we are, so finding people to attend shouldn't be too difficult.

That's a great idea about having the music from the Sail Away and other parties. What other songs are there? I remember the Macarena, YMCA and Celebrate. Anyone remember others? We could get a good playlist going.

We are cruising Jan. 3 so I'll be watching for cool ideas.

I think I will recruit DD to get out her Towel Origami book and make some towel critters for the party.

Can someone tell me which website you went to to get set up for your party? I deleted the initial email that I received (the one that I used to fill out my application), and on the acceptance email I received, it didn't list the email address to go to to get started. I shouldn't have deleted the first email, but honestly, I never dreamed I'd get picked!

Okay, I did find the info I needed, but in my congratulations email, it said that you could change the date of your party by a day. I didn't see that option when I went into my account on houseparty.com. Anyone else know how to do this? The date is automatically set for Jan. 26, but I need to change it to Jan. 27. TIA for any info on how to change this.
