Is this for all cruises leaving US?

As a Canadian, we've always used our Passport (or Nexus) so not aware of this.

For Caribbean, Bermuda, and Canada/Alaska cruises, U.S. citizens don't need a passport. (For TransAtlantic leaving U.S. they would.)

US residents on a closed-loop cruise departing and returning to the same US port can usually cruise with just a birth certificate (plus a driver's license/ID for 16+) -- unless a passport is required of US residents by a specific port. However I don't believe DCL uses any of those ports.

Good to know. For some reason, I thought I remember a guest in our Western Caribbean cruise saying that they needed a passport even though they're a US citizen. At the time, I didn't realize why that was an issue. It must have been a different issue.

I thought it was only closed-loop cruises, but San Juan (PR) has some exceptions for various rules, so that could be.

I can't believe that I'm one of the few people REALLY UPSET by the fact that there is only 1 Broadway style production per sailing. I mean DCL cruise prices are insane to start with but the way I justify them is to think about what you would pay for a very good dinner and a Broadway show almost every night. This and the kid's club is what sets Disney apart from the other ships. Minus those two things and sailing is a NO GO for my family.

It is funny how different things upset people. Im fine with the masks..it is annoying but i'm use to it.
But I love the shows. Even ones i have seen several times. My husband upset no bball hoops he can
play with kids and no shuffleboard etc. I commented earlier it is like they want you to eat and go stay
in your stateroom. And don't get me started on Rainforest changes.

It's for everyone without penalty, including concierge. If you're stuck with a concierge deposit and want out, this is your chance.

The teen clubs can come and go as they like, its just Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab that need booking

Currently on The Disney Magic UK

To help manage capacity, parents must register their children for Disney’s Oceaneer Club and Disney’s Oceaneer Lab during the Online Check-In process and then, prior to setting sail, reserve specific session times online or via the Disney Cruise Navigator app. Guests can book one session per day on a first-come, first-served basis: a 1.5 hour-long session on Embarkation Day; and a 2.5 hour-long session during days at sea. Children will receive their youth activities wristband at the cruise terminal, which grants them access to both Disney’s Oceaneer Lab and Disney’s Oceaneer Club.
Pending availability, Guests can also register their children and book session times on board the ship using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

I’m wondering if you a do b2b if you need a PCR test for the second cruise or just the rapid. At this point a b2b is looking cheaper than a WDW/ cruise combo.

I commented earlier it is like they want you to eat and go stay in your stateroom.

Given the fact that teen clubs, pools & waterslides will be open, and activities & games will be ongoing, movies will be shown, and Castaway Cay will be open, I don't think that is the case.

Mine don't go to the clubs and we have a pool so they don't do that either. But if activities and games
will go on that might be something. But are they mixing unvaxxed with vaxxed? Are the others going in
the pool and waterslides with masks on?

I can't wait until first hand reports come back. I have a coworker going in September. She is critical
but tells it how it is as she has been on 25 DCL cruises.

Yes, there is no segregation between vaccinated guests & unvaccinated guests on DCL. This is logical for DCL since on DCL the two groups will typically be traveling together: the kids will be the unvaccinated ones & the majority of their parents will be vaccinated. Hard to separate them. No masks are required on the pool decks or any outdoor areas. Wet masks don't work, anyway.

Cruising during the reopening period isn't going to be for everyone and DCL knows that. It doesn't sound like your family would enjoy the reopening cruises. Myself and my teenage son who are one and done with shows and who prefer games & waterslides to basketball, are looking forward to it.

That part i can agree with. We are not thinking of going until Nov and December anyway and who knows
what will be in place. People who are going in Aug Sept and Oct. Good luck! I hope you enjoy it.

CDC guidance says that an unvaccinated passenger does not need a fresh test for the second cruise, and can use their disembarkation test, although the disembark test applies only for cruises > 4 nights. Cruise operators can flex for those with full vaccination. (I;m paraphrasing, it's about 'discretion' blah blah.)

I know I’m in the minority. I always am on this forum, but I’m happy with the protocols. I think they are fair and are appropriate for the times. Hopefully as time goes on they can keep sailing and reduce the restrictions. “Can keep sailing” being the most important part of that. No more shut downs please.

We probably won’t know until word gets out from the first august cruises. On the UK staycation cruises, guests who are B2B don’t have to leave the ship. But they have to take another covid test. For dream sailings, no covid test is required if you are vaccinated. Not sure how disney is going to handle things for US sailings.

considering almost everything for the Dream is exactly the same as the UK Magic cruises, I would say the changes, policies and procedures will be fleet wide as each ship restarts cruising

Any thoughts or info on concierge services? Will the lounge be open? Cocktail hour still a thing? Wondering if concierge prices will be worth the current experience.
