DC reservations & AP rates

We made a reservation with our disney club membership for September. We actively watch for AP codes too, as we're AP holders as well as DC members. If we can get a better rate with our APs later, can we transfer our DC reservation to whatever the AP rate is, or can you only do that when you make a reservation without the DC?

We also made a fantasy package reservation in case that ends up being cheaper....

PS- we are off in less than 24 hours!!!! for our "minnie trip!!!"

I did this last year. I switched from a DC rate to a code rate. They cancel the DC res, credit your card and make a new reservation with the code and recharge the deposit. I later switched to an AP rate, they transferred the deposit because it was all within CRO (DC is Walt Disney Travel).
