I shoudln't have to call day by day for a spring break trip that hits a week after Easter at BCV if I'm calling at the 11 month window, shoudl I?
Think thsi will typically be safe to call just once each year?

Nah, you should be fine with that. There are only a few that actually require day by day at eleven months and that is not one of them.

SV anytime
GVs much of the time
early December most anything
F & W festival...for those not mentioned, early is needed, day by day, probably not.

Other than those, a call at the end of the stay will work just about every time, really, other than those, a call during the first month or two of the eleven month window will work just about every time.

Thanks. The calling day by day seems liek a real pain. I was planning on calling day by day for next Christmas, though. (week between Christmas and New Years) Think this is needed?

If you really want to put yourself at ease, call 11 months (or 7 months) from the date of your arrival and just ask what the availability looks like. If DVC gives you any indication that you might have problems, start booking day-by-day.

I do. The week between Christmas and New Year's Day is very popular - at the WDW DVC resorts as well as at the parks. New Year's Eve has to be one of the most difficult nights to reserve. For that week, I would absolutely call day by day, no matter what MS says on the first day. It's just not worth the stress of possibly having to use the waitlist.

I call day by day for Easter week at BWV, especially for standard view. One day I forgot to call in the morning, and there was only one left later in the day.

I have never had a problem calling at 11 months for full reservation. I even got BCV at 7 months for busy week before July 4th. I think that the only exception is a standard view at BWV because there are fewer of them. I don't agree with others who do this every visit. MS has enough to do without the additional calls.IMHO.

I would have to agree with CarolMN's assessment. I would definitely do a day by day call for the week between Christmas and New Year's.

Connears, while agree in part with your statement, what would happen if you didn't get the room you were looking for? You'd probably be sitting their kicking yourself for not calling day by day.
Yes...there are times when calling day by day serves no purpose, but when I made my reservations for early December, I called every morning at opening time. Was always greeted cordially by MS, and I didn't get the impression that they were overwhelmed by me calling every day. In fact, when I called on the first day they started off by asking me if I was adding on to an existing reservation or starting a new one.

I have a feeling MS knows when DVCers will be calling day by day @ 11 month windows. I did get busy signals a couple of times, but waited 5 minutes and got right through.

I would seriously doubt that you'd have to call day by day for a room after Easter, but if your trip runs into any portion of the Easter week, I'd consider it.

I've never done this before, so I'll ask my silly questions. We are planning on going to BWV next Dec. (04), the week before Christmas and checking out on the 23rd. Would like a one bedroom unit. So, should I just wait for the 11 month window of my check-out date, or start booking day by day from our check-in day? Then, if I do that, is the whole reservation then tied together when I get to the end day? Sorry for my lack of knowledge, but I suppose we all have to learn at some point. I just want to learn the correct way to beging with!!

DemoBril,

I have been for christmas and New Years, April vacation during
Easter, and have never had to call day by day. I also only request non smoking and the type of villa. I have never had a BAD room. I was not infering that MS would be rude, I was saying that it may be an inconvenience to other members trying to make there reservations..one that may not be necessary. I guess we can agree to disagree.
