Day 6: November 3rd
Oh what a great day- we are going to the Magic Kingdom!
I dont need a wake up call, I dont need the sunrise it's 5:30am,
I roll over and jump out of bed! Now everyone else is not
ready to go, so I head out for a nice morning jog/walk
around Crescent Lake and head down to Boardwalk
Bakery for some coffee with my IPOD tunes playing.
Once I get back to the room, DH is up, dressed and
says the SABS called and they are ready to go. Wow
this is starting out to be a great day!
We meet the SABS at the Boardwalk Bus Stop and
pick up one of the first buses to the Magic Kingdom.
We had advanced reservations at the Crystal Plaza for
8:15am to celebrate Vincents First birthday and
we were all excited to EAT!!
We arrived at the MK in no time and were admitted
via the Advanced Dining Reservations entrance, while
others waited for the official park open.
Being in the MK this early made for some great
photo opportunites. What a beautiful blue sky!
Some of pictures it looks like we are the
only ones in the park.
The Crystal Plaza was packed with moms, dads,
kids and a happy commotion filled the air,
while we waited for our name to be called.
Our waitress Elaine, seated us right next to the
Buffett- how did she know! Also, she noted right
away that were celebrating Vincent's 1st B-day!
I think this is one of the best breakfast menus
they offer at WDW. The selection is wonderful and
the French toast and breakfast lasagna are the BEST!
Needless to say, we ate a lot and met some fun
characters! At the end of our meal, Elaine brought out
a cupcake, and we all sang Happy Birthday to Vincent!
He sure did enjoy that birthday treat!
We left the Crystal Plaza around 9:30am just in time
for the first showing of Cindrellabration! Now Im not usually
one for standing to watch a show, but this was really
cute and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.
Keeping with the Princess theme we headed to
Snow Whites Scary Adventures and then to
Cinderella Carousel, then Peter Pan (my personal favorite).
Vincent had a great time at Pooh's Playful Spot
and so did DH! Afterwards we headed to Mickey's
Philharmagic and finally we finished Fantasy Land
with Its a Small World.
The attraction lines were not long at all- maybe a
5 minute wait. We then headed to the Haunted
Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Splash Mountain
and then onto POTC and Buzz Lightyears Space
Rangers and finally Space Mountain.
We had set out to the three Mountainss today
and we accomplished our goal.
After our whirlwind MK tour we headed down
Main Street to Candy Shop for some sweet treats
to eat on our way back to the resort. The Main Street
Quartet was there and they sang Happy Birthday to
Vincent and it was so nice.
What a magical moment I knew today was going
to be great!
We spent the afternoon at the Pool and met
back with the SABS for dinner in EPCOT.
We took our time walking through World Showcase
the the Mexico Pavillion and even got a chance
to see Chubby Checker at the American Gardens
Theatre- boy is he a good performer!
We arrived at San Angel Inn about 10 minutes past
our ADR, but we were seated pretty quickly. We
all love Mexican food and were eagerly anticipating
this dinner. None of us had eaten since breakfast
and the mass consumption at the Crystal Plaza.
Our waiter Daniel, took our drink order and never
came back. About 15 minute later, he
surfaced with a basket of chips, drinks and asked
what we wanted. No apologies for being late, nothing-
so we made sure to get our order in promptly.
Again, about another 20 minutes goes by
and we dont see Daniel at all.
Did he quit?
Go on break?
None of the above- another waiter informed us
he was sitting in the back waiting for our
food to be cooked. He was a "waiter in training" and was
really not doing a good job!
Our food came, we enjoyed
every morsal and just made some time to chat about
our trip and take in the surrounding. Somehow
SPINACH came up again and we laughed so hard!
After dinner, I suggested we head to SOARIN for another
ride, as the crowds were getting light and thought
we could get a ride or 2 in before Illuminations. We
did the child swap and waited just about 20 minutes-
it was more crowded that we anticipated. But well
worth the wait. VIncent enjoyed hanging out with us too!
We walked back down to World Showcase and
stopped on the bridge between France and England
and watched another showing of Illuminations- Vincent
slept in his carriage through the whole show. All of us
were so stuffed from all the food we ate today that no
dessert was on the menu!
DH and I took some alone time and enjoyed
the rocking chairs on the BW balcony and
relaxed for a bit before heading to bed around 11:30pm.
Tomorrow Food and Wine Festival Take 2!
