Daughter may not go to the prom.(long)

I went to my senior prom, but with my boyfriend being 21 he wasnt at all interested in staying a long time but not pushy about leaving. We danced a little, took pics and talked to a few people and were out of there in about an hour and half.Looking back Im sad we didnt stay longer.
I think thats crappy the boyfriend doesnt want to go. He should at least make an effort to go for a little while. She may want to rethink a guy that isnt interested in taking her to a once in a lifetime event. I know its his birthday, but come on he can celebrate that another night.
My guy didnt want to stay a long time, but at least he did and took me out to a very nice dinner too.

I agree with this as well. When I was a senior my boyfriend was 21, he didn't want to go but he did. We had a great time. Now, DH & I look at the prom pic and laugh at how stupid we looked. That's right, I married my prom date.

I went to the prom and hated it. We danced around stupid planes. I would say about 40% the class showed up, but almost 90% showed up at after prom. After prom was a blast that lasted until 2:00am, after that most of the people ended up at Denny's!!!! I say skip the prom and go to after prom!!!

I went to my Jr Prom and hated it, it was just an overhyped dance. My friends and I skipped the senior Prom and went to NYC instead, we had a blast.

I didn't go to prom.

I moved to a new high school when I was 16, right before my junior year. I never really made many friends there and had even fewer dates. It didn't bother me to miss it, really, but I did take the night off from my job: I was a hostess at Red Lobster, and I'd be humiliated having to seat my classmates since that was a popular pre-prom restaurant.
