darn you teevee!!

So I've been doing some work as an HR assistant at an office lately, it's mostly filing, stapling things, stuffing envelopes, photocopying etc.

But this past week I've been training to cover the receptionist while she's on vacation. I had my first day as a receptionist today (she was still there, but mostly just for questions)
and OMG it's crazy stessful!!

EVERYONE who called in is SUPER grumpy and in a rush.
NO ONE says hi to me when they walk by.
There is NO flirty fun with cutie co-workers, infact I sit in an area by myself!
No tom foolery, everyone is SO serious and crabby and no fun!!
There is no Dwight, no Jim...and I am certainly no Pam!!

So darn you The Office for setting my receptionist hopes so high!!!


Has TV or a movie ever set your hopes so high for something and then they were DASHED by the harshness of reality?!?!

Haha, doesn't that stink? That's what my friend said when she started working for an office. She said it's definitely no TV Office.

I usually set my standard for parties and such from TV/movies, and they never turn out like that. It's really disappointing. Sometimes it's the opposite. I'll see it on TV/movie and it looks like it stinks, but then the real life version turns out awesome. Those are always good.
